The detached house with an unusually generous living space is located in the middle of a completely fenced, well-kept 2,000 sqm garden on a hill outside Carvoeiro in the particularly beautiful area "Vale do Milho/Praia do Carvoeiro" with views of the mountains and Lagoa in the distance one of the most sought-after residential areas in the area on one of the roads towards the beaches of Benagil, Marinha and many others in the well-known rocky Algarve. The villa is well taken care off, typical of the country, rustic, comfortable and furnished with selected collector's items without being out of date. In 2023, new luxury class windows and doors including sound insulation were installed. 2 of the 3 bedrooms are equipped with high-quality ACs. The nearest beaches such as Praia do Benagil are 1.5 km away; The center of Carvoeiro is just as close. The very personally furnished property has spacious living-dining areas, as well as a library with a wonderful view of the Serra de Monchique mountains. In addition, we have a winter garden with a wonderful garden view, which invites you to spend extended stays if one of the many terraces is not in use. The property has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms as well as an additional toilet in the utility wing. One of the bedrooms with bathroom and large terrace is on the 1st floor (master). 2 of the 3 bedrooms (ground floor to the front and 1st floor) are equipped with high class air conditioning. From the kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, pantry, etc.) you enter the courtyard. The utility wing of the house is directly adjacent.(Washing machine, ironing board, drying rack, etc.). Nestled in the flower-filled garden about 10 meters from the house is the large pool (shallow and deep zones, shower), surrounded by a spacious real grass area with comfortable loungers. You have a view of the landscape under palm trees. Our entire team has been working at Castelo Mouro for many years, is very well coordinated and particularly warm. We strive to manage our home and garden sustainably.
The house has 3 terraces. On the ground floor you will find a permanently installed grill. A garden pavilion behind the house surrounded by citrus trees and roses as well as various garden areas invite you to relax. The price is based on occupancy of up to 4 people. Please see additional costs for higher occupancy under: Prices. AC is included, but eventual heating is NOT included in the price. There are fairly calculated additional costs for using the heaters with electricity or firewood.
Location: A rental car is the most comfortable solution outside of Carveoiro, but you can also manage without. A walk into town takes about 20 minutes. There are reasonable taxis available in the town center that will be happy to take you home if the walk back after a relaxing dinner might be too much. Please note the “Additional information” section under the rental prices regarding the costs of wood, heating, etc.
We hold an official rental license (AL) and our house of course has all the relevant official standards and safety features.

Exceptional villa with an amazing pool

The villa was perfect for our family of 4. Very spacious villa with everything, and more, needed for our stay. The pool was a perfect temperature and the gardens were immaculate. A car is recommended although it was possible to book local taxis and Uber.

Nice authentic property on excellent location in the algarve

Nice, big, clean, well equiped place. Lovely garden with nice pool. Big garden, perfect for garden lovers, not when you are looking for room for playing soccer or any racket sport. But enough beaches within 10 minutes driving distance to do those activities.

We had a lovely stay in this gorgeous, secluded villa. It was very spacious and well-equipped. The pool area was perfect with lots of space in the sun or in the shade. The beds were comfortable and the outdoor eating area was perfectly situated. A couple of areas for improvement would be to have a full length mirror in the master bedroom and the bottom of the pool was quite sharp, which resulted in children with cut feet and knees. Overall we would recommend the villa for a lovely, relaxing holiday.

Perfect stay

We had an absolutely lovely couple of weeks in this superb property. It was clean, tidy and really interesting. As we arrived late in the evening, some provisions had been purchased on our behalf and put in the fridge, so we had welcome snacks and breakfast ready for us before we had to find a supermarket. There are several really decent supermarkets within a few minutes' drive and some nice restaurants in the area too. There was more than enough for our needs in the house and we could easily liaise with someone if there was a question. The gardens were beautiful and there were different places to sit and enjoy the surroundings. The pool was beautiful and I loved having a view. The house, gardens and pool were maintained superbly. No fault of the hosts, but sometimes we noticed the noise - dogs barking and loud vehicles nearby - but we slept really well as we were so relaxed. We felt so welcome and didn't want to go home! With friends living nearby, and so many great things to do in the area, we hope to return.

Spectacular and special home

The house is very beautiful and very huge. A gorgeous backyard by the pool with very mature plantings, such as bird of paradise and ivy and palm trees are all around the pool along with many flowering bushes. Amazing green birds with orange heads chirp in the very tall palm tree. The backyard is really tremendously beautiful. On the south side of the house there’s a lovely covered dining patio, and other spots to sit as well. When on the property, one has a tremendous sense of privacy, as the gardens are very expansive all around the house. The house itself is the sort you can get lost in. As you enter, there’s a dining table on the left, a bathroom, a large kitchen and a sunning deck with two chairs by the laundry room.The sunken living room is spectacular, with a huge couch and chairs, and a fireplace. Beautiful and tasteful art hangs on the walls along with innumerable books on the bookshelves. It’s the sort of place that makes you really feel like home. It was lovely having coffee in the morning in the greenhouse room off of the second living room. Birds come to the little birdbath in the garden which is delightful. Everything is decorated with beautiful objects that have clearly been collected over a long time. It was a real pleasure every time we returned “home” from an excursion. Suzanne was very helpful and communicative, and we felt very privileged to stay in her beautiful home. I would recommend the house without reservation and would be happy to return.

Finca mit grossem Pool

Die Finca ist mit viel Charme eingerichtet.Die Küche verfügt über sehr gute Küchenutensilien.Vorallem Messer die schneiden.Sogar Restenaufbewahrungsbehälter hatte es. Der Pool ist sehr gross und wir konnten uns super erfrischen. Negativer Punkt , keine Klimaanlage bei diesen Temperaturen geht dies nicht, daher konnten wir auch nicht gut schlafen. Strassenlärm war störend,vorallem wenn man Ruhe gewohnt ist.

Heerlijk huis en zwembad

Wij hebben in dit huis een fijne vakantie gehad het is heel erg well equiped met veel keukenspullen ( mooie schalen) en wasmachine en materialen hiervoor. Je hebt er alles wat nodig is en dat maakt het comfortabel. Het huis is sfeervol alleen de zitjes rondom huis wat klein maar bij het zwembad is het ruimte genoeg. Wij hebben heerlijke 10 dagen gehad!

Eine Oase für die Seele

ganz tolles Objekt, ein sehr gepflegter grosser Garten, besonders viel Spass hat es uns gemacht vom Wintergarten aus die Vogeltränke zu beobachten mit dem regen "Flugverkehr"der Vögel, das Haus ist top gepflegt, abends den Kamin anzumachen war ein sehr schönes Erlebnis, wir haben super in dem Schlafzimmer oben geschlafen, alles vorhanden im Haus, Haus kann ich absolut weiter empfehlen

What a fantastic house

This is a beautiful house in a wonderful location. The house is clearly someones home and it is a privelege to be able to stay there. The garden is such a special feature as well, it is clearly loved. There are so many wonderful spaces within the house and garden too. We really enjoyed the barbeque area in the evenings. The pool was a bit too cold for us to enjoy properly (we went in late October). There are several restaurants that we could walk to and it only too 30 minutes to walk to the centre of Carvoiero. A wonderful place for a holiday.

Relaxation at Castelo Mouro

This delightful property was well serviced by a very friendly and able local agent (Monika). The standard of the accommodation was high but we felt that the website description did not really do justice to what is obviously a well loved home from home! It was very well equipped, and provided a range of living spaces to suit all needs (inside, the 2 lounges and the garden room and outside, beside the pool, shady parts of the garden, the delightful range of the different parts of the garden, the table under the arch, and the sunny spot beside the front door). We very much enjoyed our time in the Castelo ( and returned fitter due to regular swimming) and found it to be a great base for exploring many parts of the Algarve! We hope to return at some point in the future!

Highly recommended

A beautiful home away from home for my 2 girls and two adults. So many lovely spots both inside and in the garden to sit and relax. A great variety of flora around the property and an equal variety of beautiful birds exploring the grounds. Wake up to roosters crowing and (the only slight downside) go to bed with neighbourhood dogs debating. My kids loved the pool. The grocery store is a short drive away, as are some of the more interesting cliffs in the Algarve. I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Überaus geschmackvoll und wohnlich eingerichtete Villa abseits vom Touri-Trubel

Wer hier mal gewohnt hat, wird nie wieder ein langweiliges o8/15-Feriendomizil buchen. Schöner und geschmackvoller kann man nicht wohnen. Wir (5 Erwachsene) haben es jedenfalls sehr genossen. Belasten Sie Ihr Reisegepäck nicht mit Büchern! Um sich auch nur durch die Hälfte der deutschsprachigen Literatur in der gemütlichen Bibliothek (mit Kamin) zu futtern, müssen Sie das Haus ein Jahr mieten. Und ich meine Literatur - keinen Schund. Fast wünscht man sich wenigstens ein paar Regentage. Der riesengroße Garten ist eine Augenweide. Alles was reif ist, darf man ernten - die 38 Rosenstöcke sollte man aber unversehrt lassen. In dem großen (unbeheizten) Pool kann man auch ohne Gegenstromanlage wunderbar schwimmen - und das sollte man auch können, denn er ist tief, also eher nichts für Kleinkinder. Das Haus wurde in den 2 Wochen 2-mal von Personal gereinigt und einmal auch die Bettwäsche gewechselt. Garten und Pool werden ebenfalls professionell gepflegt. Die Anmutung von allem ist großzügig, alles hat Seele. Ich muss jetzt aufhören, sonst überschlage ich mich noch vor Begeisterung.

The house is exceptional, that gardens and the pool areas too. A very relaxing environment.

We were welcomed by Monika who was was great, explaining everything we needed know about this beautiful home. The house, gardens and pool area are spectacular. We loved the fact that the house was furnished so beautifully and as many guests have commented, it feels nothing like a rental property. It is a large house with so many social areas, there was a room for everything. The sun room was lovely in the morning and early evening and the library was really cosy with the fire on in the evening. In April, the orange blossom was out, so the the fragrance in the garden was gorgeous and we had freshly squeezed orange juice every morning. The garden all around he house is beautiful, varied and really well maintained. By the time we left, 2 wonderful weeks later, the roses were almost in full bloom. The pool area is magnificent, a perfect paradise with mature trees on one side and a fabulous view towards the mountains on the other. It was warm enough for a swim most days (but we are Scottish). The surrounding area is beautiful and there is everything you need close by; local beaches and restaurants, fantastic coastal walks and beautiful Silves and Lagos were our favourite towns (as well as Carvoeiro). We spent a fabulous fortnight in this home in the Algarve and I honestly don't think we could have found anywhere better. Thanks again to Monika for her nice welcome and help during our stay, to Susanne for all of her excellent communication during the process and for renting her stunning home to us. .

Wohlfühlen, wie sonst nur zu hause

Vielen lieben Dank, dass wir in ihrer wunderbaren Villa unsere Ferien verbringen durften. Das Haus ist einfach wunderbar. Schöner, groesser und gemütlicher als wir es uns erträumten. In der Villa mouro fühlt man sich einfach wie zu Hause. Als wäre man schon immer hier gewesen. Die tolle Bibliothek und die plattensammlung nutzen zu dürfen ist wirklich ein wahrer Luxus in einem Ferienhaus. Vielen Dank für alles

Erholung pur im stilvollem Haus mit Pool im Garten

Nach äußerst freundlichem und hilfsbereitem direkten Mailkontakt mit der Besitzerin fuhren wir mit unseren 3 Töchtern zur unserer gut vorbereiteten Unterkunft, welche uns von einer sehr netten und deutschsprachigen Verwalterin übergeben wurde. Das Haus bietet alles was man sich für einen Traumurlaub wünschen kann mit herrlich persönlich gestalteten Räumen wunderbar dekoriert mit reichlich stilvollen Artefakten aus alter Zeit. Das Feriendomizil ist bestens ausgestattet mit Küche, 3 Badezimmern, schönen, bequemen und sauberen Schlafzimmern und einem wunderbaren Wohnraum mit Kamin sowie einer Bibliothek und einem gemütlichen Wintergarten. Bei der großen Anzahl von wunderschönen Räumen mit herrlichem Flair gefiel uns besonders gut die Bibliothek mit gemütlichem Mobiliar, stilvollem Kamin und einem wunderschönen Blick auf die Landschaft. Durch die große Anzahl von Büchern und Spielen konnten wir in Reiseführern Hinweise für Sehenswürdigkeiten, Wanderungen und schöne Strände finden und abends gemütlich eine Partie Schach spielen. Ebenfalls genossen wir den großen, sehr gepflegten Garten mit Palmen, Eukalyptusbäumen, Bananenstauden, Hibiskussträuchern, Zitronen und Orangenbäumen und dem herrlichen Pool. Der Garten hatte schöne Schattenplätze, so z.B. ein Pavillon zum Kaffeetrinken und eine Veranda mit Grill, auf der wir gerne unser Abendessen (mit Kräuter aus dem Garten) genossen. Wir liebten den Pool mit seiner angenehmen Größe. Unsere Kinder waren dabei begeistert von den bereitgestellten Luftmatratzen und waren den ganzen Tag im Wasser, wenn wir einmal nicht einen der vielen Ausflüge mit dem Auto machten. So erreichten wir wunderbare kulturelle Sehenswürdigkeiten, herrliche Sandstrände und eine der schönsten Klippenwanderungen der Algarve. Teilweise genossen wir frühmorgens oder abends die faszinierende Küste in aller Ruhe. Dieses Ferienhaus war für uns alle wundervoll, wir können es weiterempfehlen und kommen gerne wieder.

Perfect Stay

Our stay was wonderful- the villa was everything that was advertised. The location was so convenient to the local town and so many more villages & towns that we visited. The grocery store - Intermarche - was very handy to us & filled our shopping needs completely. I would definitely recommend this property to any friends interested in visiting this part of Portugal.

Das Haus ist eine Oase der Erholung: innen sehr geräumig, wohnlich möbliert und nicht mit den üblichen zweckmässig eingerichteten, sterilen Mietobjekten zu vergleichen; aussen weitläufiger und sehr gepflegter Umschwung mit einem herrlichen Swimmingpool. Sehr freundliche und deutschsprachige Betreuung vor Ort (bei Bedarf) und einen hervorragenden Hausservice (Innenreinigung, Garten und Pool). Besonders geschätzt haben wir den direkten Kontakt per Email zur Eigentümerin, welche äusserst zuvorkommen, freundlich und hilfsbereit war. Die Lage des Hauses war für unsere Bedürfnisse ausgezeichnet (Strand, Einkaufen und Ausflugsziele). Unser Aufenthalt in der Algarve war wunderschön - nicht zuletzt dank Castelo Mouro!
