About Mark Haley
That's me and my 1919 mother with Mission Creek in the background. Swapping palm trees for apple trees, I moved to Kelowna from Los Angeles to become an orchardist and start a family in 1981. Growing up in Southern California I became enamored with the early twentieth century Arts and Craft architectural style through examples like C&H Greene’s Gamble House and the Pasadena bungalows. So when the Kelowna General Hospital’s expansion forced removal or destruction for this eccentric shingle sided piece of early Kelowna architectural history, I took up the challenge, moved the house to my sister Sue’s sheep ranch and began a life work/labor of love restoration.
Mark Haley purchased this Farmhouse in 1995

Group hoiliday in lovely heritage home
Our group enjoyed our stay in Mark's charming heritage home. It is set in a very beautiful setting, just outside town at the foot of the hills. We would happily return if in the area again. Thanks Mark!
We rented this 100+ year old farmhouse for a three generation family of eight.
The house is full of character (including rustic squeaky floors, to be expected in an old house, and eclectic decor) and obviously a labour of love for the owners. We loved the story of how is it was ‘rescued’ from another site and moved to the farm. Mark was very accommodating, letting us check in early so the littlest members of the family could nap. The extra space both inside and outside was great for a family. Our grandson made good use of the antique toys and loved the sheep and chickens. The location was perfect for our needs - and how often do you get to stay in such beautiful rural surroundings in the middle of a city? Although there is Wifi and all the basic needs are met, if you are looking for TV, high-end modern conveniences and luxury, this is not the place for you. My one concern was that the bathrooms and kitchen were not 100% clean.
Comfortable and Great Location!
We were greeted by Amber and given a tour of the house and yard; she was welcoming and very informative about the workings of the farm home. It is indeed an old farm house with lots of beautiful character, located a short drive to shops and yet you feel out in the middle of nowhere, which we loved. We were also grateful for the size of the house and how quickly it felt like a home for all 10 of us (all adults!). They have lots of kitchen gear, but plan to bring some tupperware/bags if you're like us and like to make food at your rental and save leftovers. Also, the house is on a working farm, so there is external noise from the other people living on the property (the owners in the basement and other houses on the property, along with the rooster (he was a very early riser!), but they are all sounds that some ear plugs can help with when sleeping. Overall, we loved our stay at Mark & Amber's home and it created the perfect location for our family getaway. We would happily stay in this location again!
Awesome Family Holiday Location
Our family all met at this lovely farm house for a weekend get together. Kelowna was convenient for everyone to get to and the Mission Creek Country Inn was a perfect location. The farm atmosphere was relaxing and entertaining for my 2.5 year old grandson. The owners were welcoming and helpful. The farm house was well equipped and had ample sleeping arrangements.Everyone had a wonderful time !
So Much Fun for the kids
Mark graciously let us check in 2 hours early upon arrival. This helped us out as our family was coming from all directions and we had five children on board. The children had brought their bikes and they played softball in the big front yard. There are sheep and horses to visit. The house is a very large older farmhouse with a very interesting history. There is WiFi but no other additional technology - so back to the olden days.
We read, played games and visited. Wonderful family time together. It is definitely a unique and different place to stay. Recommend you take a pair of slippers as they have a no shoe policy on their hardwood floors.
Wonderful and Awesome
All went well
Thanks Ren. It was a pleasure for me to see your group having a good time; the children running and playing. Maybe next time the boys will be big enough for the bikes!
Our 36 acre sheep farm is in a rural area but close to town. The close-by Mission Greenway linear park is a cool walking and biking trail that follows Mission Creek which forms the western boundary of the farm. The historic Kettle Valley Railway with it's trestles and tunnels is about 45 minute drive from our farm and well worth a visit.
