Oceanfront retreat with sunrise views, screened porch, & deck
Admire spectacular views of Mt. Desert Narrows from nearly every room of this oceanfront cottage, peacefully situated in a wooded grove on Brooklin's scenic shores. This is what coastal living in Maine is all about - sipping your coffee on the screened porch at sunrise and watching the passing sailboats from your deck in the afternoon.
This single-story, oceanfront home sits five miles north of small-town Brooklin. The house itself is private and independent, but it is also part of a larger family compound with a common road (and the homeowner living next door). Hike the Hundred Acre Wood Trail just down the street, head out to Deer Isle for a quiet day of exploring (eight miles south), and take unforgettable excursions to Acadia National Park (37 miles).
The cottage is a showcase of its surroundings, from the path that leads through the trees to the ocean shore to the glass doors and windows that frame the view at every turn. After a day spent hiking, kayaking, sailing, or driving the Midcoast, come home to light the gas grill, share stories on the back deck, and dine outside in the fresh ocean air.
Inside, the light-filled living space is accented by an open floor plan and beautiful details of natural wood. Whether you're utilizing the stainless steel kitchen appliances to prepare dinner, playing board games at the dining room table, or streaming movies in the living room, you'll do it all with a panoramic view of the water. Come nightfall, rest assured that everyone will sleep soundly amidst the plush bedding available in each of the bedrooms.

Mostly comfy
Room was mostly very comfy. Was clean and the showers worked well. The private wifi was slow/intermittent so had to use public. The AC units were so loud we had to turn them off and rely on ceiling fans at night.

Hello Tracie, thanks for sharing your honest feedback with us. we're glad to hear that you found the room mostly very comfy and clean, and that the showers worked well. We're sorry to hear that the WiFi was slow and intermittent, and that the AC units were loud enough that you had to turn them off and rely on the ceiling fans at night. We regret that we didn’t fully meet your expectations this time. We’d love the opportunity to host you again and provide a much better experience in the future.

Great location lots of space
We stayed in the suites 4 & 5. Lots of space, in a great location for easy travel to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Extremely clean. You could kind of hear the next door neighbors from 4 but not terrible. The beds were very very firm. My travel parter liked it, I was not comfortable at all. Personal preference. But overall great value for the $.
The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were well appointed. Plenty of linens. I wish that it was listed that the washer and dryer had a cost, and required quarters ahead of time. The internet was spotty and cut out, sometimes for15 minutes. I liked that the door to the hall connecting units 4&5 locked, which was nice at night. I wasnt initially given the door code for unit 5 in neither the welcome text northe email, so the check-in instructions should be reviewed.
Overall, great stay, would visit again!
Comfortable quiet unit was a good choice for a family of 3. Biggest surprise was when we first entered the unit and found the A/C blasting and the temp setting at 55. FREEZING! Later realized the people before us followed the strict instruction to set thermostat at 55 without turning off the A/C. We simply turned the heat/A/C off since temps are very mild this time of year.
