Adobe Chi is an historic, comfortable, light-filled adobe house that will inspire and relax you while you discover the adventures and offerings of Far West Texas.
Clean and simply furnished with wool rugs, original art and cotton sheets, you will feel at home. The large bedroom has a comfortable queen-sized bed, large closet, chest of drawers and a desk. There are lots of small touches throughout the house that will make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The den has a large metal desk for writing and a buttery daybed for lounging or napping. There are lots of books to peruse from local history to art and novels. We offer games and cookbooks and free WiFi. A well-stocked kitchen (with the utensils chefs need like good knives, wine glasses and saucepans) is the perfect place to brew a complementary cup of coffee and plan your day, and the Get Go grocery is only a block away.
In the backyard under the pecan trees there are tables and chairs for watching the sunset, and in the living room you'll find hardwood floors, a mohair sofa and a turn-table with plenty of records to play. Sorry, there's no TV.

About Jennie Hamilton
I moved to Marfa in 2009 after being drawn here by a box (as in Judd's), a cactus (as in the cholla) and a Bush (as in Johnny Bush). I now run a performing arts non-profit, make video art and teach kids. It's a good life. Marfa is full of magic.
Jennie Hamilton purchased this House in 2013
Why Jennie Hamilton chose Marfa
I love this house. It was sold to me on a handshake and on my mom''s birthday. We live on the same street and are close by if you need anything.
What makes this House unique
We are on the southeast side of town which is the least developed part of Marfa due to the MacGuire ranch and its huge expanse of land. Adobe Chi is a block from the Get Go, Ballroom Marfa, The Lumberyard, Do Your Thing Coffee and everything else that is Marfa, however, it's on the edge of town with unobstructed views that go on and on and on...

This great little house gave just what we were looking for in Marfa. It's so quiet and peaceful, and the space is ideal for two. We worked a bit at the two desks but mainly chilled with help from the vintage vinyl collection. Do Your Thing coffee and Marfa Burrito, Cochineal and Stellina restaurants were all easy walks. And Jen is a friendly and helpful host. We'll definitely be back!
Perfect location. Spacious little desert casa. Comfortable and clean.
We really enjoyed having Adobe Chi as our home base in Marfa for five nights. We did all our own cooking and played the guitar, records, and scrabble. The whole town is easy walking distance from Adobe Chi. Jennie was very responsive when we needed something. Bed was very comfortable. Nice bedding and towels. It's an old house with eclectic charm but is clean and maintained.
Solid, light-filled adobe haven!
Oh the beautiful morning light! The comfy day bed for reading/daydreaming and napping! A record player w great records! The comfortable bedroom! And reading chair nooks! All within walking distance of terrific music venues and downtown Marfa art scene. Marfa is magical-- u will want to keep coming back! Adobe Chi is a peaceful oasis in the desert. We will be back!
Adobe Chi was a wonderful retreat for me and my husband!
Adobe Chi is a sweet and older cottage with good vibes. My husand and I were very comfortable staying there during our first trip to Marfa! We enjoyed the close proximity to art venues and eateries in town. The casita had everything we needed to make our stay easy and comfortable. We loved that there was no television although there was wifi.
Jennie, who owns the property, was very responsive and flexible with a request we made. I admire her eclectic decorating style too! We would love to stay there again!
A perfect stay
The house is very comfortable, clean and cheerful. The bed is particularly comfortable and the kitchen is well furnished. The house is located in the central part of town which makes it an ideal spot for exploring MARFA.
Great Marfa House
My wife and I really enjoyed staying at Adobe Chi in Marfa. Very convenient location within walking distance of most attractions. The house was cozy and a great place to relax after a long day. Host was easy to communicate with and we had no problems staying here. Highly recommended.
Marfa has become a mecca for those wishing to get away from the hustle and bustle of busy, congested city living. Without even a stop-light and located three hours from an airport, people who travel to Marfa relish the slow and easy times that await them here. However, there's more to Marfa than just a peaceful, easy feeling... there's world-class art, music, dining and area attractions not to be missed. Highlights include: Chinati Foundation: tour this compound (reservations required) which is an old army base turned art foundation with out-buildings showcasing minimalist art by luminaries such as Donald Judd, Carl Andre, John Chamberlain, Dan Flavin and more. Ballroom Marfa - check out their website for their rotating exhibitions that showcase contemporary art. They also host music events in spaces throughout town. Other orgs to google and learn about prior your arrival for possible tours, shopping or just so you're in-the-know include: Judd Foundation, Marfa Public Radio, Freda, WRONG, Marfa Book Company, MacDonald Space Observatory (star party where you can see galaxies adjoining ours is one of the best experiences of my life), Big Bend National Park, Chihuahua Desert Nature Preserve, Fort Davis Fort, Museum of the Big Bend and so much more. The Marfa Chamber of Commerce is also a good resource and prior your visit you can see what events are going on here during your stay.
