About Jim Hardie

My wife and I live in Sequim, WA with our golder retriever named Bear. We enjoy hiking and horseback riding in Olympic National Park. We also enjoy sailing, flying and travel.

Jim Hardie purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Jim Hardie chose Port Angeles

What we enjoy the most about our cabin is sitting out under the trees watching the birds and other wildlife that frequent the creek and the wonderful sound of cascading water flowing down the creek.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting or vacationing in Northwest Washington. It was close to everything that we were interested in; Olympic National Park, Vancouver Island, the west coast, also grocery stores and restaurants, yet it was located in a very private, wooded area next to a babbling brook. We would sight see during the day, and get to return to a lovely relaxing cabin in the evening. The owners were kind and easy to work with, and the price was reasonable. I would not hesitate to stay here again. In fact, I wish I were there right now. Nice!

Quiet and Peaceful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The outdoor grille was useful for grilling out. The interior of the cabin was very comfortable and the bed slept really well! It was really quiet at night. Even though it was a bit of a maze to find the cabin, the location along the stream was wonderful. The deck was great to sit out on and enjoy the morning coffee. One morning I saw a doe and her fawn on the other bank. I initially had trouble finding the cabin and called Jim. He picked right up and helped me find the right road. Had no other reason to call him. The location is great and it was easy to access ONP. I would recommend this quiet get away for anyone visiting ONP!

Very quiet and quaint little place hidden by the river. Perfect for a getaway

  • 4 of 5

Great place to stay if you're looking to get away for a while. The only downside is that you pay for a cleaning fee, yet you have a list of things to do before you leave the property.

Owner's Response: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We are so sorry that you were uncomfortable with our suggestion to help our cleaning staff by putting your sheets in the washer and removing your trash. It was merely a request and not something required of you. Thank you for staying with us. Jim

Comfortable cabin with nice view

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed the property. It was a great launching point for our planned activities. The property was clean and comfortable. The owner was responsive and there was even fresh cookies waiting for us. If I had any complaints it would be that the neighborhood felt a little dodgy. While many people maintained their properties, there were certainly a few that did not and it gave somewhat of a bad impression as we drove to the cabin.
