Our spacious house captivates the essence of the Santa Barbara lifestyle!

The deck and hot tub look out over the gorgeous mountains that turn purple at sunset. 5 minutes away you can walk on the beach, or sample the international flavor of downtown.

We are located in one of the rare places in Santa Barbara where there is no freeway or train noise. It is truly tranquil and quiet here.

The house is on 1.3 acres of privacy. We are up a long driveway and the house overlooks the Santa Barbara mountains.

We have just planted 25 fruit trees and have started a bio dynamic vegetable garden. We are looking forward to sharing the bounty of fresh produce with our guests!

We live the alfresco lifestyle here. Large glass sliding doors open onto an expansive deck and grassy area. There is seamless living between the gleaming Douglas fir floors and the sunny space outside. Central Air-Conditioning for some of the hot Summer days that we have now.

The bedrooms are on the second floor and all are sunny with views. We love comfort here, and know you do also.

All the beds have high quality mattresses, luxurious sheets, soft pillows and down comforters.

Enjoy the hot tub after a swim in the ocean, or with a glass of local wine under the stars.

We overlook the beautiful Santa Barbara mountains. It is idyllic and quiet here. All of the homes are on large lots which lends itself to an abundance of tranquility and privacy.

Our house is a bright, open and sunny contemporary style home. All of the floors in the living spaces are laid with warm Douglas Fir wood floors.

The house is spacious, with three sides of the downstairs opening up with glass doors to the outside deck, hot tub, and lawn, with a beautiful view of the Santa Barbara mountains beyond.

# of Guests:

The Main House sleeps 6 people plus 2 on an air mattress. We prefer the Main House hold 6 adults maximum, plus 2 children.

If you have more than 6 adults and need more bedrooms, we have a separate guest cottage, 1 bedroom+Loft, with a private courtyard on the property available for rent as well that sleeps 4 people. VRBO listing #426964.

We offer a discount on the Cottage when the entire property is rented).

**The primary responsible guest, booking and residing on the property, must be age 30 or older**

It sleeps 6 people comfortably in three bedrooms plus 2 kids in a comfortable queen travel bed. All beds are made up with down comforters and white luxury bed linens.

We live in a beautiful, quiet and tranquil neighborhood. Our house is meant for families and adults looking for a retreat. Loud parties are not allowed.

There are 3 available off-street private parking spaces for guests of the Main House. The Cottage has 2 parking spaces.

Please note that Santa Barbara is now on a water moratorium and our water prices have increased 103%. We have reflected this in keeping our prices the same, until your party exceeds 6 people. We then charge for the extra water usage. We hope to be back to regular water use this winter!

Santa Barbara is known as the American Riviera with a mild and sunny Mediterranean climate. The house is located in the beautiful enclave of Montecito in Santa Barbara.

Montecito is home to some of the most spectacular estates in the world, owned by celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey.

We have mountains with beautiful hiking trails and world class wineries, that meet miles of gorgeous coastline with sun-drenched beaches.

We have fantastic farm-to-table organic cuisine that pleases even the most discernible palate, while reflecting our commitment to sustainable living and agriculture.

The house within minutes of Downtown with its red tiled roofs. It is lined with shops, restaurants, art galleries, theaters, coffee houses, specialty groceries and a weekly farmers market.

Parking is easy where ever you go. Visit the Mission or the various adobe buildings that have been preserved downtown.

You can also head to Coast Village Road in Montecito for a relaxing sidewalk breakfast and coffee, then walk to the beach in front of the 5-Star Biltmore hotel on Butterfly Beach.

Take a winery tour to taste local wines in the afternoon and visit Solvang, our local “Danish Capital” where you can buy wooden clogs and eat aebleskivers, and take in an outdoor Shakespeare play while eating dinner on the lawn.

There is an abundance of outdoor activities including surfing, cycling, climbing, horseback riding and hiking that are available.

Cultural events occur all year-round with our local symphony, opera, ballet, theater, outdoor music and indoor venues boasting the best in entertainment.

All the rooms are bright and spacious. The bathrooms are big and sunny. Upstairs there are two full baths, one for the two guest rooms, and one attached to the Master bedroom. Downstairs there is a half bathroom.

The downstairs living space is surrounded by glass doors that open onto a long deck and a big grassy area. You feel as if you are perched on a private hill with 240 degree panoramic views.

We have a gourmet kitchen for you to cook in. There is a gorgeous granite kitchen island to put appetizers out and to enjoy a glass of local wine around. Sit around the long wooden dining table and enjoy the views and each others' company.

We just installed a brand new central air-conditioner!

We look forward to having you here at StillPoint Sanctuary!

Great Holiday Location

  • 5 of 5

This home is located in the hills above Montecito, in a beautiful residential neighborhood with winding streets and plenty of interesting real estate to look at. There isn't a water view, but there is a lovely view across the hills; the beautiful light of the sunrise greeted us every morning. The view from the house and the deck is wonderful. If you are a walker, the streets close to the home are not busy; however, there is no sidewalk and very little shoulder so zoning out with your music is probably not a good idea. If you would rather walk/hike on one of the great trails or along the beach of your choice, then no problem!

The little shopping area of Montecito is close by (by car) and has a great bakery, and a few shops. Substantial grocery shopping is further away.

The house has great living space. The kitchen is well appointed. You can tell that someone lives here when guests aren't checked in. It's a home. The kitchen has good appliances and we had fun cooking as a family. There's plenty of room for several people to be at work on food. The pantry is not at all empty and you are welcome to use supplies you find. So a piece of advice to those checking in: don't go grocery shopping first and assume that you need to buy olive oil and sugar, you probably don't. There is a grill on the deck but we didn't use it during our stay.

The house was clean when we arrived and we had no problems getting in even though our flight was delayed and it was late at night. Jill gave very good driving directions so we were prepared for odd house numbering. Jill was very responsive during our stay even though she was in Colorado when we were in SB. We communicated by text and she texted back within minutes each time. We had to contact her about a drain in the sink (solved) and wanted to let her know that a lamp on the deck had blown over in the wind (solved).

The first floor furniture is comfortable, I wouldn't classify it as new. The best part of the living room furniture was two very long sofas that you could stretch all the way out on. The living area is large and has two furniture groupings, one with the TV. It was great having a first floor powder room. The bedrooms are large and the beds are very comfortable.

A great family holiday location!

Quiet & Secluded with Breathtaking Views

  • 5 of 5

Your options for amenities when you choose to stay in Santa Barbara are plentiful. Do I want a beach view? A room in the city? Something near the Funk Zone? Or how about the mountains?

We chose the mountains for our Thanksgiving getaway and hit a home run with Jill's property. From the views of the hang gliders in the mornings to the stars at night, it was all observed with our feet propped up on the deck and the appropriate beverage in our hands. And all without a sound in one of the quietest, most peaceful places I've ever stayed. I can honestly say the amenities Jill listed are clearly understated and you can't believe the overall charm this place has to offer. From the kitchen setup with every utensil imaginable to the glorious views from the upstairs bedrooms, this rental has it all. I highly recommend climbing the trail in the back to reach more vistas that make the view even more incredible.

We rented both the main house and the cottage as we had a big group of boyfriends, girlfriends, family and Lucy the Boston Terrier. Options galore came with that flexibility as there was always someplace available to take an uninterrupted nap. Literally minutes to everything in Santa Barbara enabled us to make quick trips everywhere.

When we return to Santa Barbara in the future I will choose my travel dates to coincide with the availability of this property. It is that good and well worth waiting on.

Beautiful home and setting

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at this home in Montecito. The house was beautifully decorated (especially the little cottage!) and the views were spectacular. It's very close to downtown Montecito and close-enough to Santa Barbara. There is a lot of room in the living room for a big group to all be able to chat and hang out together. The beds were super comfortable and there were plenty of extra towels and sheets. I would love to come back and stay here again!!

The property is at the top of a hill and the drive to and from can be a little dicey at night. However the views are beautiful, so the drive may be worth it. For a Monticetto property of this caliber, attention to cleanliness and maintenance needs to improve. Things like junk piled in the car port...personal razors and items left in the baths....only one hair dryer (who wants to travel with a hair dryer).... a fair amount of grime on the kitchen counters and table....

This property could be so much better with a little more attention to detail, and a few updates. We were weighing this option against a hotel, and while the extra space was nice, a hotel of comparable price would offer higher quality mattresses, and accompaniments.

Owner's Response: Our attention to detail and concern for our guests’ comfort is a priority. I spoke to the husband of this guest extensively both before their scheduled stay, as well as the afternoon of their arrival. I also checked in with him the following morning. He never indicated that anything was out of order, or that they had an issue with the house. I was on the property the day of their arrival, and I inspected the house and the grounds myself as well as working with my seasoned cleaning staff. The kitchen table had been freshly waxed, and the granite counters had just been sealed and cleaned that morning. There is a carport at the end of a secondary driveway on the property. It is not where our guests are directed to park, it is out of the way of any guest area, and it does shelter our landscaping and gardening tools. We have personal items at the bottom of the cabinets under the sinks in the bathrooms. As it is described in our online account, this is our home. All personal items are put out of guests view. We leave plenty of empty drawers for our guests to use. To find anything personal in the bathroom, you need to look for it. Our guests realize this is a family residence. We happily provide a hair dryer for our guests that need one. It sometimes seems darker when you drive in our neighborhoods, especially to those that are used to lit city streets. Very few places in Montecito have street lights, with the exception of the commercial zone. I make sure that everyone receives VERY SPECIFIC driving directions before their arrival, and that I am always available in the rare case that someone gets lost. Our handcrafted latex and wool mattresses often have guests asking me where they can get one of their own! :) We have excellent responses from our visitors. I’m so sorry our home did not meet the needs of this particular guest. We’ve had hundreds of people stay in our homes, it is a rare occurrence that we don’t meet or exceed everyone’s expectations. Our guests give us overwhelmingly positive and grateful reports about their stays with us. I am always available at any time during a guests’ stay if they ever need anything at all. It was unfortunate not to hear from this guest until this review.

Beautiful, quiet, family friendly retreat

  • 5 of 5

We took our family of five, plus an Aunt and two small dogs for an extended stay over Labor Day weekend. We had a wonderful time. We love to cook and the kitchen was well-organized and well appointed. The master bedroom is very spacious and airy. We slept there with two of the kids on air mattresses. Speaking of the kids - there were TONS of games and toys so they were very happily occupied.

The house is up in the hills above Montecito, but it was only a short drive to some of our favorite attractions - Butterfly Beach, the Natural History museum, and State St.

Another family had rented the small cottage attached to the property but we never crossed paths with them.

A great house for a family in the mood for some old fashioned quality time together.
