The house set up provides; a master bedroom with a queen sized bed & a large walk-in closet, a great room, kitchen, bath and laundry within the main level. The lower level is made up of two (2) one bedroom suites each with a queen bed and its own finished outdoor shower. Covered decks on both living levels provide a multitude of space, chairs and loungers to take in the fantastic Coral Bay and Caribbean views to the south, and St John hillside and sunset views to the West - in the comfort of either the sun or shade - whichever you're in the mood for. The elevation and position of the house on the hill side makes for a steady flow of the nicest breezes. Over sized ceiling fans provide for additional comfort and are located in every room on the main floor and both bedrooms & bathrooms downstairs. Views of close by, neighboring properties, are blocked by mature growth trees and flowering shrubs providing for an especially private setting.

Paradise!

  • 5 of 5

What a perfect home base for our explorations of St. John. This lovely, airy home had everything we needed and more! Our party was 3 families (Mom & Dad, grown kids & spouses, and 6 mos old granddaughter.) We had the perfect living area to come together, and still lots of private space. We cooked every single meal in that gorgeous kitchen - even packed picnics to the beach. We really enjoyed grilling every night with such a lovely view. We LOVED being off the beaten path, away from the touristy areas; but still in such a luxurious home. We even got to watch our Clemson Tigers win the National Championship from Coral Livin! Deborah was great to work with and gave us some great tips. We loved this home and our trip to St. John!

Fantastic week at Coral Livin'!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and another couple had a wonderful week at this clean and well maintained property. The main living area is bright and airy. The kitchen has everything you will need. The furniture is clean and comfortable. Pictures are quite accurate. I know others have said the drive up to the house is bumpy and it is - but it is mild in comparison to many of the smaller roads/paths/driveways leading to other homes on the island. Really not bad and you would not need 4 wheel drive at all. The view is amazing and we enjoyed our mornings and evenings on the spacious deck. The house comes with good quality beach chairs and coolers for all your adventures. Deborah was wonderful to work with and was really accommodating in helping us with groceries and luggage on arrival. We had an excellent trip and hope to stay here again!

Nice House, clean, but very warm and NO air circulation

  • 2 of 5

We had been looking to purchase a home in St John and had targeted Coral Livin. We planned a visit to St John in August to get the feel of the island in the off season. We worked with Deborah and she was very prompt with everything. The house was very nice, with a great kitchen and an open concept. We knew going into our visit Coral Livin didn't have A/C, but the pictures showed large ceiling fans in every room. However, that was a bit deceiving, because the fans couldn't go any faster than 1 revolution per 2 seconds on any fan. Ok, not true, the fan in the main level bathroom went a bit faster and rendered the bathroom the place to be. After two warm nights at Coral Livin, I emailed Deborah and she had 2 box fans delivered the next day. That was great customer service.

The temperatures on St John is pretty consistent year round, but we found a warm, humid week, just after a Tropical Depression made an appearance. Coral Livin gets some good Trade Winds, but not enough to stay comfortable. Expect to be up early with the sun rise and the roosters. It's actually a good way to read the news and drink coffee on the porch!

Another note for for those staying at Coral Livin with kids; the two bedrooms on the ground floor are not connected to the main house or each other. You have to walk outside and down stairs to get to the rooms (and in our case the rain). Our girls (aged 17 & 12) stayed in the same room, because it was a little too far removed from Mom & Dad. It would be great for couples, but the kids didn't care for it.

The driveway to the house is bumpy, but manageable. I'd go back if the house had A/C in the bedrooms or fans that could adequately circulate the air. Deborah was awesome and very responsive and the house was very clean.

Owner's Response: Thanks Rick & Kristi for your feedback. I am sorry you felt the pictures of the ceiling fans were deceiving. But am glad you did contact me during your stay so I could at least, temporarily, alleviate the problem for you. The fans had worked fine before but more recently, we did find they were no longer working up to speed. However, that hadn't been a problem for guests this summer before you. I alerted the owner of the issue & she ordered new ceiling fans in late August that are due to be installed this month (Sept). I am certain this will solve the problem! Our summers are about 10 degrees warmer than our winters & can often be uncomfortable especially when the tradewinds are down. The winter almost always has good breezes due to the tradewinds. And just to clarify, the driveway is very short. I believe you were referring to the road up to the house called Mill Vista Rd. It alternates between paved & dirt & can be bumpy on the dirt parts. Luckily it's a short road! And unlike some roads on St John, it does not need 4 wheel drive! Again, I am sorry the fans did not work well for your stay. Once the new ones are installed I'm sure they will be working adequately. And thanks again for your valuable feedback now & when you were there. Sincerely, Deborah, Property Manager.

Great view and location!

  • 5 of 5

Back from a week stay at Coral Livin' The view is great and the deck is very wide - plenty of space. The home is very clean and the kitchen and living area provide all around views so you feel connected to the outside even when you're inside. Deborah was very flexible in accommodating our late night arrival due to a flight problem. Only thing to note is that you need to buy your own drinking water, although the water is fine for showers. We've been to St John eleven times and would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic views, great location & really nice

  • 5 of 5

Just got back from a five night stay at Coral Livin'. WOW!! Talk about nice views....pictures don't do it justice. Eating breakfast each morning on the deck was just a fantastic way to start each day. I miss it already. The location for us was great. We're not much into crowds and loud nights, so being on the Coral Bay side was just what we were looking for. But, this home is pretty much in a nice central spot to the south, north and east shore beaches. It didn't take more than 15 minutes to get to any of our favorite beaches. And, it only took maybe 4 minutes to get to Skinny Legs, Aqua Bistro and Indigo Grill. Very fun places to eat and drink. The home itself was well done; thought out, very nice. The finishings and appliances are in great great shape. And, equipped with everything you need while on vacation, especially if you wanted to cook most days: grill, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, tons of plates, tons of silverware and serving dishes. Lastly, working with Deborah was a treat. She answered all of our questions, was nice enough to meet us at the ferry, got our car rental keys before they closed (we got in at 7:30pm), even took us shopping for groceries before heading out to Coral Livin' that first night. She was awesome.

Coral Livin' was more than we expected. Will definitely stay again next January.

HEAVENLY Coral Livin'

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned back to snowy & cold Boston, but are still GLOWING from our stay at Coral Livin'. Thank you, Deborah, for sharing your beautiful home with us. Coral Livin' was the perfect home for us during our time in St. John for so many reasons. To start, the view is breathtaking and the location of quiet Coral Bay is top notch. The house was equipped with everything we needed and was perfect for 3 couples as each room had privacy and its own bathroom. We will miss waking up to the sunrise every morning with the sound track of roosters, wind chimes and nature surrounding us.

While at Coral Livin' we could not erase the smiles from our faces. My favorite pastime while at CL was taking a seat in one of the rocking chairs with a coffee or a cocktail and soaking it all in. Thank you Coral Livin' for transforming us and sending all of us back relaxed and refreshed. We will miss you, but cannot wait to see you again in the near future : )
