The newest most beautiful house on the most beautiful beach

Bedrooms 4
Space 2,000 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 - 8 nights

About the property

Large home,4 bedrooms, including a master suite, 3 full baths, ON THE BEACH!

This 2 story home was built in 2002. The main living area, including the kitchen and master suite are on the second floor. This gives you uninterrupted views of the lake when you are in the house. There are 2 decks, 1 on the second floor and 1 at beach level next to the beach. One of the most important amenities that sets this home apart from other rentals are central air conditioning and no sea grass on the beach. Almost all of the beachfront rentals in the area have their beaches covered in sea grass. This is a very sharp bladed plant that makes the beach unusable. Although every room has a ceiling this home has central air which is very difficult to find in a rental in the area. The spacious master suite with a king bed has it's own double sink, 2 person shower, bathroom and a huge walk in closet. The suite faces the lake and has french doors leading out to the deck for morning coffee. With the doors open the sounds of the lake fills the room. The living room has floor to ceiling cathedral windows facing the lake as well as a fireplace.Leather furniture complete this beautiful room. There is also a flat screen TV, DVD player, and stereo with surround sound. Also on the second floor is another bedroom with a queen bed and huge closet. There is a full bath with a whirlpool tub next to this bedroom. The dinning area includes a table and chairs adjacent to the kitchen which has a built in island with seating for 8! The kitchen faces the lake with windows all around and 2 doors leading to the deck. The kitchen has hickory cabinets and porcelain counter tops.Stove, frig, microwave, dishwasher complete the kitchen. The laundry room(washer dryer) is next to the kitchen and has it's own small deck facing the woods. The second floor has maple floors in the living areas and a tile kitchen floor. The downstairs has 2 bedrooms, one queen and one bedroom with 2 sets of bunk beds. There is also a full bath and large family room with floor to ceiling windows facing the lake. This room has a tv and dvd player and a pullout couch. This is a walkout family room to the beach. Next to the family room is a cedar paneled ping pong room that faces the lake with floor to ceiling windows as well as a 2 car attached garage. How nice is it to pull into the garage to unload you groceries when it is pouring rain. The beach is one of the best in the neighborhood. A quick walk north or south will show you that almost all of the other beaches are covered in sea grass. Sea grass is a long thin sharp bladed grass that makes the areas covered in sea grass unusable. There is ample lawn furniture on both decks and the beach. There is a hammock next to the beach deck. Both decks are made from composite material, no splinters!

About sturgis Chadwick

I grew up and currently live and work in the Chicago area. As a kid I spent summer weekends in Door County and loved every minute of it. When I was older I discovered the Osstburg area. An hour and a half closer to home and sand beaches instead of rock. It was love at first sight.

sturgis Chadwick purchased this house in 1991

Why sturgis Chadwick chose East Central

When I bought this property in 1991 there was a very small cabin on the property. As my needs changed I designed the current home and had it built in 2002. I took my 10 years of experience living on the lake when I designed this house. Central air because if you only need it 2 or 3 weeks a year you need it 2 or 3 weeks a year. Prime living space on the second floor. There is no better way to see the beach and lake than to be on the second floor, with a deck.Hardwood and tile floors because you can't keep all the sand out of the house no matter how hard you try. The natural beauty is unique. Where else in the Midwest do have a beach on one side of you house and a forest of towering pines on the other?

What makes this house unique

Central air, second floor living, newest rental on the market, great views and the best beach!

Fantastic house!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed five days for a fall girl's weekend, and this house is the best we've ever rented over the course of 10 years. Extremely well maintained, super comfortable, room for everyone, well-stocked kitchen....I could go on and on. And, of course, great beach access. Really lovely home, super close to Oostberg, and a quick trip to Sheboygan, but yet feels very secluded and private. Couldn't recommend this place more highly, and definitely plan to return next year!

We were four adults and three children and had a perfect vacation. It is a beautiful house and location: the house was spacious, well furnished and spotless: the beach could't have been more perfect (although the water could have been several degrees warmer); the kitchen was well set-up with everything we needed, the house and property were very well maintained. Altogether an ideal vacation spot.

Lake Michigan beauty!

  • 5 of 5

Our pack which included our West Highland Terrier throughly enjoyed our week's stay at this wonderful beach house. The owners made sure that you didn't have to want for anything from ample lounge chairs, to extra propane tanks if needed for bbq, firewood and pit for evening beach fires, the list is endless. Also the owner was very attentive when a plumber was needed, the issue was fixed within 12 hours. You can't miss staying at this Lake Michigan Beach House.

Lasting Family Memories

  • 5 of 5

You have carved out a wonderful retreat on the shores of Lake Michigan! We feel fortunate to have been able to reserve your amazing lake house and make some lasting family memories. We built sandcastles with the toddlers, made s'mores over the campfire, took long walks on the beach and brought our own kayaks for a delightful time on the lake!! My crazy adult sons even braved the wild wave days! (with life jackets of course!) The area provided ice cream at South Pier, pizza at Fayes, pancakes at Judi's and donuts at Oostberg bakery! A few of us followed the Pokemon craze and a few golfed at Sheboygan Town and Country golf course. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thank you for sharing "the most beautiful house on the most beautiful beach!" We would highly recommend this property for anyone except that we want to come back and selfishly covet a summer rental slot for ourselves!! :)

Famiy Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family met at this home in mid June. Included 8 eight adults and 4 young children. The house was in magnificent shape. There was plenty of sleeping space, the kitchen was well equipped for cooking and living spaces abundant. The water was too cold to swim but plenty of sand to dig in.

We had a very relaxing and comfortable time in the house. Oostburg has some delightful bakeries and places to eat. The Bookworm Gardens in Sheboygen is a fun place to visit with children.

Just had to write a review of this fine home! Just returned from a wonderful weekend with the girls. This is our 28th year in a row so we know what we want and need in a rental and this one was just perfect. 10 gals in all, and we all enjoyed our stay here. The owner was very accommodating and as he told me, "It's all there!" he was speaking the truth!!

Very clean and very comfortable. Loved all the nice thick towels. There was a lot of personal touches and the place felt very much like our home away from home. Only it got better the minute we walked out doors and enjoyed the beach, lake, and wooded area. Loved it!!! We will be coming back for sure. :)

It's the beach and Lake Michigan that draw guests to this area. Level white sand beaches and ocean size waves gives this Midwestern shoreline a Caribbean flavor. If you can tear yourself away from the beach and the spacious home there is plenty to do. Osstburg is small town surrounded by farm fields. Fresh eggs, produce, and even just made cheese is available nearby. There are apple orchards and strawberry fields in the area. The village of Kohler is nearby. Kohler has fine dining, shopping, a spa, and of course golf. Lots of golf. Also there are a number of other golf courses within a 20 minute car ride from the beach. The City of Sheboygan is 15 minutes away by car. Sheboygan has fine dining, shopping, a water park, charter boat Lake Michigan fishing and a tavern or two. They have a very nice YMCA,art galleries and the one or two taverns have great fish fries on Friday nights. If you are willing to travel there is antiquing to be found. The Kettle Moraine State park is approximately 25 miles west of Oostburg. It is popular for hiking and scenic car rides.
