Within the open bunk area of the loft the young and young at heart will find a foosball table for hours of entertainment! The loft offers a private balcony through yet another set of french doors with relaxing/star gazing seating overlooking the backyard and family circle recreational burning area.

Guests can enjoy nightly fires with friends and family utilizing the wood burning outdoor fireplace while enjoying the peaceful sounds of the wilderness and the seasonal creek!

The cabin sits just minutes from National Forest and the Cowlitz River.

Pine Lodge Guests will have free access to the two Timberline Village pools, tennis court, basketball court and large tree surrounded recreation field.

About Pine Lodge

Husband and wife Joseph Taiwo and Irene Botero own Pine Lodge. They, along with sons Patrick and Jeremy live in the greater Seattle area. Jeremy, is a 2016 U.S. Olympian in the decathlon! Yes he made the U.S. team and came in 11th place in Rio! He followed in his father's footsteps, as Joseph was a two-time Olympian in track and field in 1984 and 1988.

Pine Lodge purchased this cabin in 2003

Why Pine Lodge chose Mount Rainier

Joseph and Irene designed their cabin and construction was completed in 2003 by Randle Woods, a local artisanal construction company. All of the supporting deck logs came from trees felled on the property as did the large trunk supporting the unique spiral staircase to the second floor. The owners fell in love with the area while staying at a friend's cabin in Packwood and fulfilled their dream of building and owning a vacation cabin that they and their two boys could enjoy year round. Winter recreational activities abound in the area with snowboarding, skiing, sledding and snowshoeing at White Pass, and snow-machining on local trails, just 20 minutes up the road. In the summer, the area lakes and streams which are usually stocked provide loads of fishing opportunities. Hiking is plentiful in the surrounding national forests, and in Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier National Parks. One of our favorite summer activities is enjoying a scenic 2 hour drive over White Pass into the Yakima Valley to enjoy area wineries. The cabin itself provides a wonderful opportunity to relax in the hot tub, to play board games with family and friends, to star-gaze, play a round of croquet in the back yard, roast marshmallows in the fire pit and to explore Coal Creek, right across the road.

What makes this cabin unique

In the summer, make sure to visit one of two community pools across the highway, enjoy a game of horseshoes, a tennis match, or a rousing game of basketball. Also, just across the street from the cabin, make sure to wade up Coal Creek to the rock slides and water falls about 20 minutes upstream, and/or hike to the falls and rock slides overland on the local trail. It is a well kept community secret that deserves to be shared! Please enjoy our cabin as much as we have over the years and make yourself at home in this beautiful location!!

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the "cabin" for 3 nights. It was fantastic.

We got there Friday night and got to see two herds of elk on our way through town. The cabin was chilly upon arrival, but heated up quickly between the wood stove and heaters. We headed out to the hot tub and got to hang out while it was raining, again, great.

The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and made cooking easy.

We were there for hiking at Mt Rainier, and it was close enough for easy day trips. We went for several hours, then back for a fire and hot tub, with the pouring rain.

I would willingly stay here again if I am in the area.

Comfortable cabin, great location

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I rented this cabin for 5 nights. It was very comfortable, clean, nicely decorated, and the location was a perfect base for our hikes at Paradise and Sunrise areas of Mt. Rainier as well as a day trip to hike Ape Cave and explore the south/east sides of Mt. St. Helens. Grocery is nearby and the kitchen and dining setup was very good (condiments etc a nice extra) - we ended up making all our breakfasts and dinners at the cabin, plus packed picnic lunches each day and didn't bother going out to eat. While the cabin is geared for a larger group, we found it a good value even for just one couple. If we get a chance to come back to the area, wouldn't hesitate to rent here again.

Great location and very comfortable cabin

  • 4 of 5

Very nice and clean home in a great location. My husband and I rented this property for two nights. Well furnished cabin. The owner truly has it set up to accommodate 14 - not just in beds. There is enough seating, inside and out to accommodate large groups. Just a short drive over to Ranier and back to town of Packwood. During our stay I needed to call for something minor- hospitality answered both times and was very friendly. Great price too.

Well maintained property in a lovely location.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time and appreciated all of the amenities and privacy.Very relaxing and kid friendly to boot. The kids made full use of the upstairs area and adults spent plenty of time appreciating the porch and ample outdoor seating. Hot tub was enormous and well maintained. I only wish there were information on site regarding directions and location of community pool and access to the AMAZING creek steps away. We will surely visit again. : )

Perfect Weekend witht he Guys

  • 5 of 5

I rented Pine Lodge with 10 other guys for a weekend retreat. The cabin was everything we hoped for, and more! The hot tub and fire pit were definitely some of my favorite amenities. There was also plenty of room to comfortably sleep everybody with three bedrooms plus upstairs sleeping porch. Don't forget to check out the river across the street. It is beautiful! I definitely hope to make it back to Pine Lodge in the near future.

Great place for a ski getaway

  • 5 of 5

A group of friends and I have rented this place for our annual ski trip for several years now. It's always been a great place, but this time we were pleasantly surprised by some nice updates to the house - new couch, new hot tub, remodeled bathroom. Great place that I would recommend to anyone looking for something in Packwood.
