About ruth charny
I am a film producer with 5 grandchildren for whom I built this house. I am anticipating being in London & Paris for work all of next year and therefore decided to put the house up for rent. Ideally, I would prefer a year-long renter or a month-long renter.
ruth charny purchased this House in 2004
Why ruth charny chose Cornwall Bridge
It was a difficult decision to put my house and our things on the rental market, but I'd rather have it used and there's very little that's breakable.
What makes this House unique
this is a very special house in that I built for my 5 grandchildren or rather when I was anticipating grandchildren. It has been enjoyed by all them as they can play, swim, hike, ski, garden, play organized sports, barbecue, roast s'mores around a campfire, sleep under the stars, and roughhouse with the DOG who is far enough from the road to never be on leash and protects the many flowers and vegetables from deer. Our neighbor on route 7 (although our driveway is 1/4 mile long and far from the road) is the Housatonic Valley, which protects the region Association which protects

Second time there and would go back again!
This was our second time staying at Ruth’s house. We love it and would go back again! The house is thoughtfully nestled in nature and really feels like an escape from it all. The floor plan offers a great room that is perfect for a group and kids. Radiant heat is a huge plus! Highly recommended.
Great house for family and friends
This is our second year in the house and we are already looking forward to the next. The house itself has a great layout with a large living/dining/kitchen area great for hanging out with family and friends. The fireplace is amazing and the location is excellent. Close to Kent, but quiet and woodsy, with a nice view of the river. The host/owner is also very friendly and responsive to any issues that arise.
This is a very beautiful house and a great location
We really enjoyed our stay at this house, it was clean, warm, and very welcoming.
Clean , private, beautifully positioned with river views and a woodsy feel , no neighbors in sight.
Wonderful open floor plan, if you love to cook as I do, the kitchen has everything you will need including a pro range .
Our host was very accommodating , we will be back.
beautiful and cozy!
My boyfriend, my dog, and I really enjoyed our winter weekend at this beautiful house. The house was spacious and roomy, yet cozy due to the radiant floor heating and unique “floating” fireplace. The house has large windows/sliding doors for enjoying the view to the river on one side, and mature pines on the other. I will definitely return!
Relaxing holiday getaway
My family spent two wonderful days during the recent Thanksgiving holiday
in Cornwall. The home had everything we needed-open floor plan with a fully
equipped kitchen to accommodate gourmet cooks in the family; enough bathrooms,
space for all of us to roam, including two dogs, 7 adults and a 4 year old. The property
the house sits on is pristine. Hiking trails within 10 to 15 minutes were an added
surprise.
Location
House is about 2 miles from the Kent Falls Park and about 4 miles from the Audubon Society, about 1/2 mile away from riding stable, 1/2 miles away from river fishing, and 4 miles from town lake and lake club, and 3 miles from entrance to Appalachian Trail.
