We have a mosquito control program from Mosquito Joe to help make your stay more comfortable!

The entire family can spend a fun filled week together in our roomy beach cottage. The beach is an easy, short 5 minute drive away and we're located just one block away from the Orange Beach Recreation Center which offers fitness classes, a gym, heated pool and tennis courts for a small daily fee. Our house is conveniently located near restaurants, marinas, and city parks. Osprey Watch, named after our neighborhood's world famous osprey offers you an escape to the coast - as well as an escape from the crowds.

Start your morning off with a cup of coffee in one our rocking chairs on the front porch. A big live oak tree covers our front yard with shade and the front porch has two ceiling fans to keep you cool. You’ll be greeted by the joggers and walkers that enjoy exercising in one of Orange Beach’s most welcoming neighborhoods.

The home features an open floor plan and is furnished 'beach style' with beautiful and comfortable rattan furniture. The living area contains a love seat, sofa, a recliner and an oversized chair with ottoman for kicking up your feet after a busy day at the beach or on the water. Reading lamps grace each side of the room which gives you plenty of light for reading your favorite novels. The room boasts a media center consisting of a new 50' Smart TV, as well as a DVD player, sound bar and Apple TV. The home is Wi-Fi equipped which can be accessed from the entire house, including the porches and deck.

Osprey Watch has been our second home for the past 10 years and our kitchen is equipped better than most rentals. We have a deep fryer, food processor, blender, toaster, iced tea maker, cookie sheets and even a cake pan. There is regular food and then there’s beach food. This kitchen is stocked for beach food! There is even an old fashioned ice cream churn for creating memories as well as a delicious dessert. Our table seats 8 comfortably and two more can eat at the bar.

Osprey Watch sleeps 9 comfortably in their own beds. No need for a sleeper sofa when you have this many beds. All of the bedrooms, including the bunk room have their own LCD TVs. Bedroom #1 has twin beds, Bedroom #2 has a queen as well as a twin bed. The bunk room has twin beds. These bedrooms adjoin a large bathroom with tub/shower combo.

The large master suite has new luxurious bedding and high thread count sheets. An antique desk serves as a makeup table and makes it easy to get ready for dinner at one of Orange Beach’s fabulous restaurants. An ensuite bathroom is decorated with beadboard wainscoting that adds to the cottage style decor. The master has a new LCD Smart TV for watching movies in bed.

One of our favorite features of the house is the HUGE 600 square foot screen porch which runs the entire width of the home. The porch has new wicker furnishings including two wicker chairs and a dining set that seats 6. We spend a lot of time on the porch thanks to three ceiling fans that keep everything cool. Strings of white lights surround the porch in soft light creating a magical atmosphere.

The porch has a ping-pong table as well as a Bimini Ring Game (just like the one at LuLu's). Visitors to our house stay entertained for hours playing this simple game. Be careful if you get challenged to play by one of the kids!

The screen porch opens onto a large deck which has an umbrella covered patio set for additional seating. The deck is also home to a new CharBroil Infrared gas grill and we have sizzling steak plates for serving your creation in style. With all of this, you may find yourself eating out less and enjoying more family time at the cottage. Our backyard is professionally landscaped and managed and is surrounded by a privacy fence so you can feel at ease letting your kids (or pet) play outside.

The neighborhood has 2 private sandy beaches where your kids can play without crowds. In addition, there is another area at the end of our street with a private pier. Around the corner is a small public area with another pier. You are literally surrounded by water in our neighborhood and there are plenty of access points to allow you to enjoy it.

FOR THE BOATER - Our house has ample room to park your boat. We can park our 22 ft bay boat in the driveway and even keep the tow vehicle connected. When you return from a day on the water, a water hose is conveniently located to flush out the motor. Our neighborhood has a private boat launch that provides hassle free launching. The launch is located on Bay La Launch and is convenient for trips to Pirate’s Cove, The Wharf and LuLu’s. Perdido Pass is a short hop away with minimal No Wake Zone waiting.

FOR THE PET LOVER - Our house features a fenced in back yard. The house is pet friendly and most of the house is tile flooring. Our neighborhood is great for dog walking and Orange Beach’s Dog Park is only 1 mile away. Another great option is the Hugh Branyon Backcountry Trail. It's a wonderful paved trail that runs from Orange Beach to the Gulf State Park. It is pet friendly.

FOR THE FISHERMAN - Our family has been in the charter boat business in Orange Beach for almost 35 years. We have two boats and can accommodate your group from 4 persons to over 20.

Why Royce Ard chose Alabama

I grew up walking along the dirt roads (now paved) of this neighborhood between my aunt and uncles house and our family's house. This place has lots of memories for me... catching tadpoles in the streams, seine netting for minnows, learning to drive a boat and fishing with my Dad. There is even a white knuckled ride along Wilson Blvd on the back of my cousin's motorcycle that I'll never forget!

We bought this house in 2004 and have spent my family holidays here. Christmas at the beach is one of our longest family traditions and each year we travel down from Georgia to keep it alive for another year.

Orange Beach is where we go to relax. For us, that may mean spending time cruising the bay in our boat, enjoying one of the many great restaurants the area has to offer, or just spending time with family.

Great house in quiet neighborhood!

  • 5 of 5

We just stayed here last week during the USSSA Baseball Tournament. We have 7 adults and 2 kids and this house was the perfect size. We loved the screened in porch, ping pong table, and closet full of games. Other perks: large driveway, very clean, very well stocked kitchen and bathrooms, beach extras, good cable service, good internet service. Would stay here again for sure!

Great stay for two families

  • 5 of 5

I don't know where to start; this was a great rental for my family of four and my friend's family of five. I have never, ever rented another person's house for vacation, so this was a great first experience.

To begin, the neighborhood is very quiet, there is an awesome kid's park very close by, there is convenient shopping near by, and the beaches are also close, but not too close. You know how sometimes there are creeps running around near beaches? You don't have to worry about that. You also don't have to worry about being too close to a busy road, which is especially nice if you want to sleep in and/or if you have small children. The backyard is a great size for play (it's also very clean) and the outside back porch is divided into a closed in space and an open space. There is a ping pong table in the covered portion, which everybody thoroughly enjoyed. As for the other conveniences, it was so nice to have separate bedrooms for the kids so that they could keep to their sleep schedules, the washer and dryer were very convenient, and it was great staying in a place with a Keurig, full-sized fridge, dishwasher, microwave, etc.... I almost forgot that the Ard's provide Netflix, which is really nice when it's a rainy evening and everybody is stuck inside AND there are beach toys and necessities in the closets. Check out the closets before you go out to buy beach things. Finally, the wifi also works great, so keep that in mind if you have to do any work from home.

Our families had a great time here, so if you have a large number of people and want to stay in a quiet place that isn't very far from the beach, I highly recommend this house.

Highly recommend!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was rainy the first part of the week, but the screened in back porch with the ping pong table and the multitude of board games on hand kept the kids busy. The house was very comfortable for our group of 8. We loved the large open concept kitchen, dining and living area. And it was nice not to have tons of steps to climb like a beach house would have, since my parents (in their 70s) joined us on the trip as well. We would recommend this house for anyone looking for a nice, quiet area that is still very close to the beaches and shopping, etc.

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to write a great review. Sorry about the rain. But a rainy day at the beach... is still a day at the beach. Glad you guys were able to salvage a wet week and still have a good time.

Fabulous space and location - beautiful yard!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. we had plenty of room for some of the family to stay and the driveway was wonderful. We used this house as the center point for our daughter's wedding weekend. We had several houses/condo's reserved in the area but this was the stop point for everyone as the venue was just a mile away and it made it convenient to make sure everyone was where they needed to be when they needed to be. Our daughter's dog was the flower girl, and this pet friendly home also made that dream a reality. We had a great weekend. Accomodations were comfortable and the ping pong table in the back was great fun for the kids and adults we had staying. Thank you for opening your home!

Like visiting an old friend!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second vacation at Osprey Watch, and we were SO excited to be back! I think this stay was even better than last year because everything was familiar, and we knew just what we did and didn't need to pack or buy at Publix before arriving. I've never been to a more well-furnished rental, with so many little extras (including fresh aloe vera that came in very handy with a surprise sunburn on an overcast day.) The kids loved the wii and ping pong, and we discovered a new Bimini Ring Game this time. The dogs are very comfortable and safe going outside in the fenced yard, and they enjoyed their stay as much as we did. Bed linens and towels are luxurious and high quality, the kitchen and pantry are very well stocked, the neighborhood is safe and inviting, and Royce is just a text away, and genuinely cares that we are enjoying our vacation. He even pointed us in the direction of a Blue Angels demonstration that we would have otherwise missed. Lord willing, our family will return here for years to come.
