Welcome to the fresh and charming True Knot Cottage. This Charleston style side porch cottage features classic southern architecture just 225 steps from two ocean side pools along Coast Cottage's charming red brick lane. True Knot Cottage features two levels of shady balconies for easy, breezy afternoons sipping lemonade and sweet tea.

Once inside, you'll appreciate authentic details like plantation shutters and rich pine flooring. The master bedroom features a king bed, sitting area and en suite bath. There's also private door to the side porch. Bedroom 2 is a lovely queen bed suite with its own full bath. Bedroom 3 has two sets of twin bunks with easy access to the hall bath.

The comfortable living room is loaded with over-stuffed furniture, and features two sitting areas ... one for TV viewing and the other for reading and conversation. The dining room easily seats everyone at the same table. But there's also a 4-seat table on the adjacent porch, and 3 barstools at the breakfast bar nearby. Perhaps the star of the show is the magnificent kitchen with granite counters, gas range, and recently updated appliances.

A signature feature of True Knot Cottage is it's third level observatory. Step out on the balcony for a peak at the ocean and a stunning view of the Coast Cottage Lane streetscape.

True Knot guests enjoy full privileges at Coast Cottages' fabulous beachside pools, pavilion & dune boardwalk. We're located on the best part of St. Simons' beach, where you can depend on quality beach access at high tide, low tide, or any tide! (Properties south of Arnold Road cannot make this claim).

You'll create beautiful memories at True Knot Cottage ... affordably priced too!

Guestbook comments from the manager

This was our 1st, of hopefully, many stays at Cimbria. We spend at least one week each year on Coast Cottage Lane. The recently renovated Cimbria provided more than we have become accostomed to during on stays on St. Simons. We were extremely satisfied with our stay, 5 stars for everything. And we were extremely satisfied with the personal service provided by Patrick Anderson. He is 1st rate.

Things to do on St. Simons Island: Kayak through the marsh streams, walk the beach, eat at many great restaurants, climb the lighthouse, golf, tennis, miniature golf, small skate board park, go shopping at many quaint shops, go antique hunting, tour Fort Frederica, tour the Old Coast Guard Station (right next door to Coast Cottages), walk the sandbars at low tide, go skim boarding along the shoreline, take a trolley tour of the island, hang out at the Coast Cottages pool, go to a water park on Jekyll Island, take paddle board lessons, go crabbing or fishing right off the pier. The beach in front of Coast Cottages is the widest and best stretch of beach on the island. At low tide the beach joins the sandbars and you can walk straight out to sea for ½ mile! The morning sunrises are spectacular … bring a camera.

Beautiful Beach House

  • 5 of 5

True Knot cottage was simply "Top Notch". Honestly, this was a last minute trip and we were apprehensive about the accommodations. The cottage was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The photos of this cottage do not do it justice. It's updated, very roomy and nicely furnished. My husband and I travel frequently and we enjoy staying at nice places. True Knot is fabulous. Kitchen fully stocked for cooking and plenty of towels. To our surprise, several beach towels, beach chairs, skim boards, plus a wagon were available for use! The decks are very large and the 3rd floor tower a unique touch with awesome water view. Most of all we really enjoyed the rocking chairs located at the front of the cottage. I could have stayed forever! Oh- very short walk to beach. It's really on the beach.

Great stay at St. Simons East Beach!

  • 5 of 5

What a gorgeous home just a short walk to East Beach and heated pool for this exclusive community. Comfortable, super clean and cozy bedrooms for two couples and another room for with bunk beds for 4 children or other guests. The second floor has a great living room space that also includes a digital piano, a spacious dining area and a well-stocked luxurious chef's kitchen which we were very pleased to use every day. The bonus "lookout" room on the third floor offers a spectacular view of the ocean and yet another quiet balcony to sit and read, have tea or socialize. Nothing was overlooked: plenty of towels, extra blankets and other thoughtful things to make your stay comfortable and easy to maintain. Mr. Anderson checked with us and it was nice to know he was available. His emailed instructions were clear. We spent a lot of time walking on the beach, stand up paddling and a some windsurfing. If you like to walk, The Village with shops and restaurants is not far - better yet, bring your bikes. We loved our stay and had BEST Christmas week ever with our family and friends. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home!

Owner's Response: So happy you had a great experience at True Knot Cottage! (formerly known as Cimbria Cottage). As a matter of clarification, the community pool is usually heated during Thanksgiving week, Christmas week, and certain weeks during the spring. It can be heated upon request at other times for an additional charge paid to the neighborhood association. Patrick Anderson can assist with further details.

We recently stayed in the newly remodeled Cimbria Cottage. It was wonderfully appointed and had even more than you would expect. Additionally, we had an issue with one of the A/C units. When I called on a Sunday morning at 10:00AM, expecting to hear a recording that the office was closed until Monday morning, it was Mr. Patrick Anderson who personnaly answered and had a service man to the Cottage within an hour. Very impressed with Mr. Anderson's personal touch on a Sunday morning. Looking forward to our return to Cimbria and St. Simon's Island.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the very nice review. As a footnote, both a/c units are less than 2 years old. The temporary cooling issue was quickly remedied and we expect smooth sailing for the foreseeable future. ~Patrick Anderson

St. Simons Island is sometimes described as a little piece of paradise. Scarcely known outside Georgia, it is quite possibly the best kept secret along the coastal Southeast. The island's majestic entrance over miles of unspoiled marshland was memorialized by Sidney Lanier in his poem The Marshes of Glynn. It's a place where an unpretentious low country meets the great ocean ... where huge tidal changes breathe life into the grassy expanse flourishing in wildlife. Somewhere in between you will discover the magic of St. Simons Island. Upon arrival, visitors are enveloped by a feeling of calm amidst ancient moss-draped oaks standing alongside glorious palms and tall southern pines. Many miles of bike paths connect a variety of shopping, eating, cultural and recreational areas within the island. There's always something fun and interesting to do. The beach at St. Simons Island is like no other. As the 7-foot tide shifts from high to low, it pulls the shoreline 1/2 mile out to sea uncovering a breathtaking system sandbars and shoals. Development is largely unseen along the north end of the beach where an abundant shrub forest has been protected and allowed to expand naturally. Acres of young dune fields nurture sensitive Sea Oats while thousands of shore birds migrate from one sand bar to the next with the receding tide. The owners and guests of Coast Cottages at St. Simons cherish their unrestricted view and enjoyment of this ecological wonderland.
