A modern rustic retreat

Modern and DWELL type house up on a hill with great views of Santa Monica mountains. Great place to entertain, both inside and out. Feels like you are on a secluded retreat.
One acre lot, pet friendly, Dwell modern style, family friendly, large enclosed yard. BBQ with beautiful front deck all set up for alfresco dining.
3 bedrooms with an additional Art Studio/Office that can be closed offer for privacy and has a large couch that can be used to sleep on if necessary. 2 bath house in a quiet residential area. Master bathroom features a two person jacuzzi tub next to a spa like shower. Outdoor shower with total privacy. Set back off of a cul de sac. 25 minutes to the Malibu beach, 45 minutes to LAX. An hour and a half from Disneyland, 45 minutes from Santa Barbara. 20 minutes to Camarillo Outlet Mall. Horse ranch with horses to rent 5 minutes from the house, beautiful state park hiking and biking trails five minutes from the horse.Trail head at corner of property that opens up to hiking.

This is the 2nd year we’ve stayed here and we loved it every bit as we did last year! It has everything you would ever need and great for young kids. My 3 year old grandson spent many hours playing in the back area which had a sandy area to play with the toys that are there for them! The back patio is an oasis of foliage and flowers and a magnificent view. Looking forward to coming again next year!!

Fire Pit with Terrific View

The living spaces were much larger than I expected. The best part was the adorable little patio with a big fire pit and a fabulous view. And it was so peaceful!! Would have been nice to have some sort of closet or at least a hanger in one of the small bedrooms. Terrific kitchen with everything we could ever want. We had guests over and had no problem with fitting 18.

My wife Hollie, two daughters Sydney and Maxine, Sandy (our yellow lab) horse name Ned and Leo our barn cat. We (only the humans) travel a lot between our houses in Portland Or. and Thousand Oaks, Ca. We are both entrepreneurs, Hollie a Communication consultant and I am architectural designer We homeschooled our children till there were 8 and 10 and considered it a privilege with to have them in our lives all the time. Both are out of the house (official "empty nesters!) As a family we love adventure and life. Snow skiing almost weekly during the winter between Mt. Hood, Or. and Snow Valley,Utah. Mountain biking in the Santa Monica mountains and Bend, Or. I am an avid marathon runner, trail runner, and hiker. We love food from all parts of the world and get to experience it often when we are in Portland visiting the famous food carts.

Why they chose this property

Though the neighborhood is an older subdivision of small homes and lots, our ONE ACRE property sits atop of a hill above a cul de sac with stunning views. There are no houses behind us that give total privacy for the outdoor shower. Every afternoon we get breezes from the coast that is only 8 miles away

What makes this property unique

Great entertaining space. The 12' wide bi-folding doors open up to the front patio with features a 12' long table for large gathers, fire pit, bbq. and hammock overlooking the Santa Monica mountains. Equipped with outdoors speakers that can be hook up your laptop or smartphone for music listening.
