3BR, 3BA, 2 Story Condo With Sweeping Views Of The Caribbean
Gentle Winds is a private, gated community located on the beautiful North Shore of St Croix. This 65 unit, 66 acre community is nestled between the mountains of St Croix and the turquoise Caribbean Sea. This location not only provides a peaceful setting with a backdrop of the best nature has to offer, but also between 5 and 15 minutes away you have a large variety of restaurants, diving, fishing, 2 world class golf courses, kayaking, horseback riding, rainforest, tidepools, hiking, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, a casino, shopping, and many more opportunities to explore all that the island has to offer.
As you enter the half-mile majestic, palm tree lined entrance to Gentle Winds, you will be greeted with a lush tropical landscape. The beachfront has a beautiful sandy beach with palms, and plenty of lounge chairs to work on your tan. If you have had too much sun, there are palm covered palapas and palm trees to park your chair under for shade. The beach has a roped off sandy bottom perfect for swimming and is protected by a coral reef that provides for fantastic snorkeling.
The newly renovated saltwater swimming pool is located beachfront, steps from the sand. There are also many lounge chairs and tables poolside, perfect for enjoying lunch and a tropical drink from the onsite beach shack. This popular gathering place, which is open most days and every day in the high season, serves burgers, fish, wraps, fries, salads, and made to order drinks along with daily specials.
If sports is on your agenda, Gentle Winds has many choices available to its guests without charge. Take your pick between 2 tennis courts, basketball, shuffleboard, 4 chipping greens, and indoor ping-pong. The clubhouse offers a reading library, restrooms, and seating for relaxing, socializing, and dining.
The property is beautifully maintained by full time staff and onsite manager, and all condominiums are privately owned. There are nine three story buildings and ours is located beachfront. Our condo is on 2 levels, with a spiral staircase leading to the master suite and its king size bed. The second level also has a loft and 2 rooftop patios with lounge chairs for sunning and stargazing. The main floor has a bedroom with 2 twin size beds, and the third bedroom has a queen size bed. The full kitchen has all you need to prepare meals, with a dining table, and opens to a living room with a cathedral ceiling. The screened lanai with patio furniture allows for fresh air dining and a tremendous view of the azure sea. Fall asleep to the sound of the gently breaking waves, and have breakfast while enjoying the beautiful view of the sea. Our condo also has cable TV, high speed internet, a washer and dryer in the unit, and central AC, if you need it. The excellent cross breeze and 4 ceiling fans will keep you cool at night and you may find you don't need the AC. The included WiFi can be used throughout the property, including the pool area and beach.

About Jeff Katko
Two couples own this property and each of us owns our own unit as well. We have been coming to this property for ten years and are here quite frequently. We are involved in the homeowner's association and have participated in the updating of the complex. All of us have traveled extensively throughout the world, yet St. Croix is our choice for our second homes.

Why Jeff Katko chose Estate Salt River
We chose this property for its privacy, beach, and pool. Its location on St Croix's North Shore sets it apart. You are surrounded by a national park, private homes, and open space. Replicating this property would be very difficult. The restaurants on St Croix are superb, and the island is a great place for vacationing with our children and grandchildren.

An amazing time at Gentle Winds
We stayed for six weeks this spring at unit C-8 and had a great time. The owners are really easy to work with and provided us helpful information about the condo and also about things to do on St Croix prior to our arrival. The unit is tastefully decorated and has plenty of seating for when we had guests. We have stayed in several other units before and this one is by far the best. Thanks Tamara and Jeff for making our time in St Croix the best it could be.
Thank you your kind review! We love St. Croix and are always happy to help our guests with their questions about shopping, grocery stores, restaurants, and activities. We have made a great deal of improvements recently and are glad to hear your positive response.
Our stay at C8 Gentle Winds; from Oregon
We found the condo to be clean and well furnished. We enjoyed the three outdoor sitting areas; two for sun bathing and one being a screened in porch. With three bedrooms the Condo was roomy and comfortable. The staff at Gentle Winds were amazingly friendly (as well as all of the islanders that we met and talked to). This was our first trip to St Croix and hopefully will not be our last.
Four Guys from Boston
You will love staying at Look-No-Further! The condominium was very comfortable and well-equipped. The owners, Tamara and Jeff, were thoughtful and friendly, and they quickly responded to any questions we had. There was a delightful screened porch, where we ate breakfast every day, and two other outdoor spaces. Gentle Winds is a beautiful property; the pool and sandy beach were always spotlessly clean. It's convenient by car to both of the towns on the island and to all the sights. A great vacation spot!
Great space, tired condition
We really enjoyed our first visit to St. Croix. Gentle Winds is a lovely complex with a great private beach with ample lounge chairs and shade options. This unit was a perfect size for us since we were traveling with our two grown children. Everyone had their own bedroom and bath. The condo is well equipped but needs some TLC and updating. Beds were comfortable but pillows were old & flat. If you are looking for luxury, keep looking. Kitchens & baths are old & tired. If you don't mind a beachy, cottage type of place you'll be happy. We really enjoyed having Sandy Toes Snack Shack on the beach for drinks & lunch options each day. The pool was nice but very cold, so we only swam in the sea. You will definitely need a car if you stay here since it is not close to restaurants or activities.
New bedroom furniture was purchased and delivered the week after your stay, including new beds, mattresses, pillows, dressers, mirrors, and night stands. It looks outstanding. Also, a new stove was purchased.
We had a great 1 week stay at this St. Croix Gentle Winds Condo.
We really liked the location of the condo - it was remote and quiet, but was within a few minutes of the 2 major towns on the island. We also liked having the condo pool and private beach right outside our back door. The condo was well equipped and very clean - lots of room. Jeff, one of the owners, gave us a lot of information to make the trip carefree - maps, restaurant suggestions, recreation ideas, etc. While we cooked quite a bit in the condo, we also visited many of the local restaurants and never had a bad meal - Eat@Cane Bay, Rowdy Joes, Rhythms on Rainbow Beach, You Are There and Rum Runners in Christiansted. For Diving we highly recommend Cane Bay Dive Shop. Our 2 kids are very experienced divers and they were very happy with them - they highly recommend doing the night dive off of Fredriksted Pier - amazing sea creatures! Snorkeling at Cane Bay was great and we took the sailing/snorkeling trip to Buck Island which was very nice as well. Overall it was a great trip and we will definitely recommend St. Croix and Gentle Winds to our friends. On a final note, we were surprised that U.S. travelers have to go through customs. Even though passports aren't required for U.S. citizens you'll get through the process a lot faster if you have them. Be sure to allow time for this process!
We are very happy you had a great experience. When traveling back to the mainland, everyone goes through customs and immigration in St Croix (not Miami, Atlanta, Charlotte or NYC) because it is a "point of entry" to the US. The process is much shorter than the usual process on the mainland, but you do need to leave a little time for it. You do not repeat any of that on the mainland. A passport does make it easier, but is not mandatory. A drivers license is fine.
This spacious & well appointed condo was perfect for a family traveling with adult & teen children.
We spent 2 awesome weeks at this condo located in Gentlewinds. This condo had enough space to make everyone in our family happy. There was a cute game nook, and 3 patios with wonderful views. The sunsets were magical and the sound of the waves were soothing. This location was by far the most private & safe. It was was in close proximity to wonderful restaurants, beaches, and grocery stores. If you love to walk, swim, play tennis, snorkel, or play golf, this place would be a perfect fit. I can't wait to reserve another 2+ weeks!
We are so happy you enjoyed your stay! You wonderfully described our condominium. Can't wait to have you back.
