About the property

Rustic Authentic Off-grid Log Cabin Minutes From Kingdom Trails

This custom built 4 bedroom log cabin is located in an extremely private setting on 40 acres of property with a large swimming pond and beautiful views of this gorgeous, unspoiled corner of Vermont. The property is off a dead end road and near hundreds of acres of conserved land so it is a true get away. If you can't travel without your hair dryer than this isn't the place for you, but if you love the great outdoors this rustic retreat is sure to please. One king bed, one queen(in the loft), a double and 4 bunks provide ample sleeping for two families in 3 bedrooms and a loft. This home is off-grid so it is rustic, but well equipped with a gas fridge, gas stove and a solar powered electrical system with a back up generator. One bathroom with a double shower and huge tub provide a perfect solution to the sore muscles that are inevitable after a long day of mountain biking on the Kingdom Trails in East Burke, VT or summiting one of the area peaks.

This is a terrific place to stay! The landscape with trails, a pond, the views - everything was perfect. The cabin was great too. Loved the gas cooking range! Thanks to John for sharing this well loved place with us and thanks also to Jamie for making sure we had everything we needed to settle in.

Beautiful and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a great stay at the cabin. It was an easy drive to kingdom trails and we enjoyed the privacy the cabin offered. We cooked several meals at the cabin and found all the pots, pans, utensils, etc. we needed in the well stocked kitchen. My husband was most pumped about the ping pong table and our dog loved exploring the trails. We had great communication with the owner and an informative manual at the cabin answered any questions we had. I would highly recommend the cabin if you're looking to ride and relax.

We spent a 4th of July weekend at John's Cabin with our three daughters. What an amazing experience. The cabin is everything you could want and more. We swam , sat by fire, listened to music , played games , hiked . Everything right on the property.

The cabin is very secluded and private but just a few minutes away from great restaurants in downtown. There are amazing bike trails near by. If you have a chance Lake Wylohby is a place you need to visit at least once in your life and it's about 15 minutes away. I would definitely recommend John's Cabin and will try to make it back next year.

Thank you,

Beautiful cabin in a serene setting

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in this exceptional cabin was perfect. The cabin itself is beautiful and was very clean. Sitting out on the back porch and looking out over the pond was just the peace and quiet we were looking for.

We loved the dining room table that converts into a ping pong table. There were plenty of games and lots of exploring outdoors to keep all the members of the family active.

The owner was super responsive and provided clear instructions and directions. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Our Stay at "The cabin" was simply wonderful, so beautiful and so peaceful. We had the chance to ride Burke's Mountain bike trails during the day and then have this wonderful place to enjoy the rest of the day with all required utilities. We highly recommend this property to every one, great place for kids as well.

A Perfect Camp

  • 5 of 5

Another wonderful stay at ''The Cabin". Perfectly comfortably appointed, with a cook's kitchen, and the most amazing fireplace. Spent the weekend bird hunting with friends, enjoying the expansive forest around us and relaxing by the fire in the evenings. The owner is always responsive and goes out of his way to ensure fun is had and needs are met. I highly recommend this property to families, and adventure seekers alike.
