About Sheri Hall - Managing Partner

Our family is originally from Southern California. I'm the oldest child and have a brother 9 years younger. Our parents, both being educators, had summers off and chose to spend them in Island Park. We eventually moved to Bozeman Montana,

Where my brother and I both graduated from Bozeman High School and Montana State University. Additionally, I went on to earn an advanced degree from University of North Carolina. 3 1/2 years ago circumstances changed within our family, and I decided to turn our family home into a vacation rental. I love people and enjoy interacting with our guests. We'd love to have you visit our lovely home, and enjoy the beauty and recreational opportunities of Island Park and Yellowstone. I look forward to hearing from you! ~Sheri

Sheri Hall - Managing Partner purchased this cabin in 1961

Why Sheri Hall - Managing Partner chose Idaho

Our parents fell in love with Island Park while vacationing and working summers here in the early 1960's. They decided to build a cabin so they could spend their summers in the Island Park, Yellowstone area. A new subdivision had just been created and our family bought our property, building the 2nd home in this beautiful area surrounded by US Forest Service land. This is our treasured family cabin that was built by our parents and grandparents In the early 1960's.

The Canadian cedar tongue and groove logs the cabin is built from arrived on a flatbed semi-truck from California with a set of instructions on how to put it together. The cabin was built in one summer, with the interior work completed over the next two years. Dad and Grandpa built the custom cabinets for the kitchen and installed the oak hardwood floors. Over the years, the cabin has been a labor of love for us and our parents. Originally a summer home, the cabin was converted for year-round use in 1990. Recently updated in 2012, the cabin now has all the amenities of a well appointed home, while still retaining its original charm.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is very warm and inviting. The large multi-paned windows offer beautiful outdoor views of the forest and the numerous small (and large) animals that inhabit the area. Our home is not your usual Island Park/ mountain rental, we chose comfort and amenities over the popular 'Lodge Décor' found in most mountain vacation rentals. Each room has been decorated with a loving hand and an eye for color and our guests comfort.

You'll find everything you need for an enjoyable stay, both indoors and out.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Everything was decorated so beautifully, yet very practical. If we needed anything, it was always here and easy to find. I could tell Sheri put a lot of thought and care into providing a pleasant experience for the guests, what a success you are! We had such a peaceful time. Thank you so much!

Very clean, well-equipped, and beautiful cabin. Great host.

  • 5 of 5

We were 5 travelers (mid 20s) from NYC, visiting Yellowstone National Park. This rental exceeded all of our expectations.

LOCATION:

We didn't mind the ~25 mins trip each day to/from the west entrance at all. You see great scenery and there is food/service on the road. The house was easy to find and is located in a safe woodland community. We did not encounter any wild animals in the proximity of the cabin.

HOSPITALITY:

Sheri reached out immediately after completing the booking and provided all the essential information as well as the rental agreement and an area guide way in advance of the trip, helping us prepare better. All the amenities (heating, wi-fi, fireplace, stove, etc.) were functional.

CABIN:

To say the house was clean is an understatement; it was spotless. Everything that a guest might need was thought for and readily available, from spare towels to utensils, food storage boxes, cleaning supplies, even vitamins and board games. The couches were very comfortable too.

It is difficult to see how anyone could be disappointed with this rental.

Great Place

  • 5 of 5

We spent three days here. It is a wonderful cabin with everything you could possibly need. It is decorated nicely. The owner was very helpful. She provided thorough details about everything.

We were visiting Yellowstone. The cabin is about thirty minutes from the west entrance but it is a very scenic and easy drive. I feel we fared so much better than staying in a dated overpriced motel in West Yellowstone. The wifi and cable worked very well. The kitchen had every appliance and amenity you could need. I highly recommend this property.

Amazing Cabin Retreat

  • 5 of 5

First I want to start out by saying how amazing Sheri is to work with, from her prompt responses to knowing what to expect while staying in the cabin etc. As for the cabin I can't express how much we LOVED it. We have stayed in other cabins before that weren't furnished as nice as this was. When we walked in we noticed the instant "homey" feel. The cabin was had absolutely everything we needed and then some. This was our first trip to Yellowstone and it was wonderful to have a cabin away from everything. It took a little less than 30 min to get to West Yellowstone. This was great for our family to have a nice and quiet retreat after all the hustle and bustle of Yellowstone during its peak season. We loved being able to come "home" to relax and explore a little of what Island Park has to offer.

Sheri-Thank you for making our first trip to Yellowstone a success and for allowing us to feel completely at home in your cabin!

Owner's Response: Ailee, Thank you very much for this wonderful review! You were a pleasure to have as guests; so neat and clean, the cabin was in great shape after you departed,. I can't tell you how much I appreciate walking in to a cabin that has been treated with respect. I'm glad you were able to enjoy a bit peace in Island Park, it's definitely a big change from the from the crowds of the Park and West Yellowstone. We'd be happy to have you back, there's so much more to see and do, I hope you'll be able to visit us again. Enjoy the rest of your summer! ~Sheri

Perfect Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our family really enjoyed staying at the Cedar Log Cabin over Christmas! Sheri was amazing! She made sure the fireplace was on and Christmas decorations were up upon our arrival! It really felt like a home, not a rental! She has taken great care to provide anything you might possibly need, and was accessible for any questions or concerns I might have had. Sheri had great ideas of things to do in the area, although we enjoyed being snowed in and cozy the week we were there! :)

Thanks for everything Sheri!!

Cabin of Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is very clean, comfortable, and well supplied. Really made us feel at home. The furniture and bed were comfortable. Away from the mainstream...so it was quiet. Sheri responded quickly to emails, and supplied information on local places to eat, and easy directions to get to the cabin. She texted us after a few days to make sure everything was OK, which it was...it was great. Talking with her on the phone, she talked like she was an old friend. Great customer service. Though we were there to visit Yellowstone, there is a lot to see outside the park. Mesa Falls Scenic Byway, and just driving around checking out the area. Would have liked to have spent more time. Highly recommended.

We had a great stay in this Island Park cabin. It was VERY well equipped with everything you need.

  • 4 of 5

We were visiting Yellowstone each day. It would be a geat location for a few days, but for a week we got tired of the extra time and miles back and forth. It was a quiet little cabin that was very well equipped with all you could ever need. It is "rustic" , and the only bathroom needs remodeling. A tile fell off the wall while we were there. It is small, quiet and ruatic. So if that is what you are looking for its perfect. Sheri was awesome to work with!!!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for staying with us I'm glad you enjoyed your vacation. We greatly value the input of other vacation rental owners, your property looks lovely. Our bathroom is getting a facelift with a new tub surround in 2017. My grandfather and father installed the lovely tiles in 1964, we've received so many compliments on them over the years, how embarrassing one of them fell off during your visit 😳 I'm sorry you found the drive to Yellowstone a bit tedious by the end of your week, most guests don't mind the 25 minute drive and are glad to be a bit removed from the tourist atmosphere of West Yellowstone. We've only had 2 guests mention they didn't like it, I hope it didn't make a "dent" in your vacation 🙂
