Fantastic apartment!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is well appointed with a fantastic view. Surprisingly quiet for it's location in the heart of a lively neighborhood. The interior is furnished very nicely with comfortable and quality beds and linens, excellent bathrooms and good air conditioning. Our service at check in was great. Of note, though, is that the elevator service in the building (as I assume with many older buildings) is a little sketchy so there are times when you may have to take the stairs. Lots of restaurants and bars in the area and a reasonable walk to other parts of the city. Wouldn't hesitate to stay in this apartment again. You MUST eat at L'Antico Moro, a restaurant just a stone's throw from the apartment on the same street. The food is fantastically homemade. We ate there twice. Of all the restaurants we ate at (including restaurants which were far more expensive) this was by far the best.

Great apartment in a great neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

we recently enjoyed a month long stay at this apartment. i am happy to say that the apartment is beautiful, it looks just like the photos. it is clean and comfortable. trastevere is the perfect place to base yourself when visiting rome. all of the major sites were within walking distance and trastevere itself has so many restaurants and cafes and is very vibrant. rafaella and june ray (the hosts) were available at any time to assist with any questions and minor details. i would not hesitate to recommend this place - you will enjoy it!

Amazing stay in Rome

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 weeks in this amazing rooftop terrace apartment in Rome. It had everything we needed to immerse ourselves in the daily life of Trastavere. The terrace is on the shady side of the building during the late afternoon so it was a great place to enjoy a glass of wine (or two) and watch the sun set over the St. Peter's. We didn't realize that we would get a concert every night from the performers at Piazza Trilussa (opera on Sunday nights being my favorite) but if you wanted to sleep, you just had to close the windows. Everything was within walking distance and the taxi stand was only a block away. Anything we needed, Raffaella and June Roy were only an email away. I would highly recommend this for a brief or long stay. Laura S.

Trastevere experience

  • 5 of 5

After many, many, visits to Italy (including Rome on numerous occasions) we decided to experience Trastevere for the first time. Since our stay was to span 4 weeks we spent considerable time exploring potential apartments. Our choice in this case could not have been better. No question about it, the view from the terrace is TRULY amazing. The evening sunsets over St. Peters will remain with us forever. Moreover, no matter how warm it got there was invariably a cooling and refreshing breeze while we dined with our friends on the terrace. The apartment layout lends itself to having friends stay with you as it affords the privacy that not many similar apartments do not provide.

Trastevere is theatre. The life five stories below was teeming with excitement. And yet, for those who find noise annoying, closing the windows silenced it all. Moreover, the location at the edge of Trastevere - just across the river via the Sisto bridge made the traditional parts of Rome easily accessible (Piazza Navona, Campo Fiori). And, we found some local "secrets" as well. A small nearby outdoor market was nicer than the tourist choked Campi. And, there are some of Rome's BEST restaurants almost at the door. (I won't reveal their names but one visible from the terrace required a week's advance for a reservation.)

Our summary - ENJOY!,

Nice place, right in the middle of the action, great host

  • 5 of 5

My family of four stayed here for a few days and had a great experience. A few comments.

(1) Rafaella and June, the property managers, really went above and beyond in their service. At one point we needed to cook a meal and were short several kitchen implements; after an email June showed up later that afternoon with everything that we needed. Quite impressive and we were grateful for the help.

(2) The apartment is large and clean, with lots of shelf / closet space for unpacking things. It's been said elsewhere in these reviews but the terrace is fantastic; a great place to hang out and relax with St. Peter's in the background.

(3) Location-wise, you are right in the middle of one of the major nightlife areas, the Piazza Trelussi in Trastevere. That means there are lots of places to eat and hang out at all hours, and it's quite easy to walk to the Campo de Fiori, Piazza Navona, good bus service to Vatican and pretty much everywhere you would want to go. This is generally a great thing in terms of good food and coffee but weekends can get a little noisy late. We had some earplugs which were helpful here.

Overall, thanks to Rafaella and June for a great time!

Excellent apartment...terrific location!

  • 5 of 5

This Trastevere apartment is well-located and looks exactly like the photos! Its spotlessly clean and is very spacious with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms; the beds are comfortable, good wifi, plenty of hot water and equipped with all the amenities needed. The terrace truly is fantastic, with great views over Trastevere and Rome...perfect for sipping a glass of wine at the end of the day or having that morning coffee. There is an abundance of cafes, restaurants and shops in the immediate vicinity around the apartment; Ponte Sisto is very close at hand...simply take the footbridge across the river to wander Rome's historical centre. Check-in was seamless. Rafaella and June Ray are great...Rafaella was always available via phone or email anytime with questions. She even took care of booking our car service to/from the airport. Highly recommend this apartment.
