About the property

Studio, Studio, 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 2)

This is my own little 'pied à terre' in Paris... situated just behind the Picasso Museum... a 40-square-meter loft... wooden floors, large bathroom with a wooden statue of Ganesh overlooking you; the place is full of charm... you are allowed to talk to the African paintings on the walls as well as native statues from Colombia and Mexico... the upright piano is slightly out of tune, but my old upstairs neighbor will not blame you for it...

The flat has been totally renovated April 2013. New full kitchen, new bathroom, new paint, new electricity, new a lot of things...

The place is very quiet and fresh. It has 'good vibes'... one of those places, for some odd reason, you just feel good there... That is what people tell me anyway...

To situate the flat, you are 30 seconds away from the Picasso Museum... I will not describe the neighborhood, you must know it by now...

Please note that there is no view... Do not expect to see the Eiffel Tower or God knows what other Paris monument; you will not.

It is really ideal for a couple; it is a little nest... Its strong point: it has a heart... it's definitely not your usual anonymous rental flat... it's little funky, but very charming... that's what people tell me......

About paolo barzman

Hi, I'm actually not a professional real estate owner/landlord... I'm a film and TV director... who travels a lot... lives mostly in Montreal. I've been renting my place through VRBO for the last 10 years... it's been really good; some of the people who rented my place have actually become friends... I've only had joyful happy people who enjoyed the joyful happy vibe of the place...

paolo barzman purchased this studio in 1999

Why paolo barzman chose Les Archives

Its location makes it special of course... but also, unlike many rentals, you really feel as if you were in a home, not a "Ikea" showroom... it's a special place...

What makes this studio unique

... safe, very quiet, intimate... get a piece of the Marais experience.... :)

Beautiful, comfortable, great location.

  • 5 of 5

We loved this! So personally and artistically appointed, comfortable, quiet (!), great location in Marais, only 1 flight up, everything we needed, washer and dryer too! Fabulous food near by; a bit of a trek to the Metro, but worth it. Windows are on inner courtyard. Our host, though at a distance, was thoughtful, fun, friendly, immediately answered any email question.

Good choice in the Marais disrict

  • 5 of 5

This is a well maintained studio apartment, that is centrally located in the Marais district, behind the Picasso museum. The photos and description are accurate. Lots of great shops, markets and restaurants nearby. It's next to a popular crepe restaurant (Breizh cafe). Nice artistic decor, comfortable mattress and couch. Plenty of hot water. Wi-fi internet is included. I stayed there for 2 weeks and would stay again on my next visit to Paris. It is inside a courtyard, away from the street. There's not a lot of sunlight, but its quiet and private. Its up one flight of circular stairs. The owner Paolo is very responsive and helpful.

Perfect rental in Paris

  • 5 of 5

Paolo's apartment was perfect, just exactly as you see in the pictures. Spacious, comfortable, and a great location. Many restaurants, shopping, close to the Metro. Much better than a tiny hotel room. We made use of the kitchen and washer and dryer. It was perfect!

Delightful stay in the Marais!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was my first experience renting an apartment abroad and we couldn't have asked for better. The apartment was cozy and comfortable, a home away from home. We cooked or brought meals back to the apartment most nights and the kitchen was ideal. The location is wonderful and in the heart of the Marais. So convenient to have a washer and dryer! And Paolo was a gem to do business with. I have recommended this rental to many of my friends and acquaintances.
