About MaryLee Trettenero

I've been a homeowner for over 27 years in this house. I remodeled last year and everything is almost new. I was in the hotel business eons ago but I like a more personal touch.

MaryLee Trettenero purchased this condo in 1987

Why MaryLee Trettenero chose Boston

My condo is in the middle of a famous historic district - 1 1/2 blocks from the Bunker Hill Monument and 3 blocks from the USS Constitution.. You can walk almost anywhere you want to go. Public transportation is 1 1/2 blocks away. You don't need a car in Boston. A cab or Uber gets here in minutes. There is a ferry in Charlestown Navy Yard that takes you to Long Wharf in Boston. A hub for the Boston Harbor Islands and other sight seeing activities. If you're tired and want to rest - it's easy to come back and recharge before you go out again. If you want to stay in and lounge - it's very comfy for that too.

What makes this condo unique

So close to Boston - you can walk there in 15 - 20 minutes. TD North Garden is also within 20 minute walk, as is North Station where trains going north originate. Free parking all weekend from Friday at 8pm to Monday at 8am on my street and anywhere in Charlestown. There are two big shopping malls close by - The Cambridge Side Galleria and Assembly Square Row. There is also a huge AMC movie theatre in Assembly Square Row. You have to make movie reservations in advance.

Séjour familial en octobre

  • 4 of 5

Owner's Response: Mathieu and family were here for 4 days visiting Boston. They left my home neat and in good shape. A little snug for five people though fine for a family with small children. All the bedding, sheets, pillows, bedspreads, and half of the towels, are new this year. True to the pictures. Everything is washed regularly due to frequent rentals.

The Perfect Place for Us

  • 5 of 5

MaryLee's Charlestown condo was just the place for my wife and me during our recent one-week stay in Boston. We were close enough to the heart of the city, but not too close. We did not have a car, but from a nearby stop we took a bus to the heart of the historic district. We also used the ferry option from the Navy Yard. You can get the Super Tour buses from the Navy Yard, and the closest grocery store to the condo is there as well . MaryLee has on file a great many menus for local restaurants and other useful information. The Warren Tavern was a particularly pleasant dinner location. Breakfast essentials in the refrigerator were greatly appreciated. In every way MaryLee was a concerned and helpful host. Charlestown reminded us of Hampstead and Islington, two of our favorite areas of London. One word of caution: If you're taking a taxi from the airport, be sure you have specific directions for the Prospect Street property--our driver didn't have a clue, so we spent quite awhile circling the Bunker Hill Monument.

Great location!

  • 4 of 5

This condo was a great choice for my friend and I. We were within walking distance of everything and also close to subway and bus stop. We loved coming back in the afternoons to take a break in our cozy condo before heading out for the night. The condo as very quiet, no noise heard from outside or any of the other tenants. The owner was very accommodating and easy to work with. Would love to be able to come here on vacation again and stay here again.

Owner's Response: I enjoyed Sue and her friend’s visit. When they arrived we had a chance to chat and I gave them a brief house tour. Both Sue and her guest were great guests and left my home clean and tidy. I would recommend Sue and her guest to anyone who is considering renting to them. Wonderful experience.

Boston trip

  • 5 of 5

We took a mini family vacation to Boston and stayed at MaryLee's lovely condo. We are a couple with our 25 year old daughter whose boyfriend joined us at the end of our stay.

The location in Charlestown was a perfect, quiet respit after long hours of walking and sightseeing.

Parking on the street for the weekend and after 8pm (out by 8am) worked out fine but could be a challenge finding a spot so drive a small car. The Nautica parking garage by the USS Constitution was only a 10min walk and is only $25/24 hours. There are 2 T stops a short 20 minutes away and the bus stop is only 2 blocks downhill. We took public transportation everywhere including Harvard and Fenway Park for a Red Sox game.

This condo was great for us. It has such a welcoming feel. This is the cleanest and best smelling place I have ever stayed in. It is larger and brighter than the photos show. MaryLee has labels on everything and left thorough instructions. The kitchen is better equipped than my own and there were plenty of extra linens. The shower is in an old claw foot tub and there are about 5 steep steps up to the door. If you have any mobility problems you should be aware of this.

What I was most impressed with was the friendliness and helpfulness of the locals.

We really enjoyed our stay, would stay again and would recommend it to friends and family.

Owner's Response: It was a delight to have Beth and her family stay at my home. I’m very happy that their stay was enjoyable and that they were pleased to be in the middle of everything. I appreciate her comments about potential mobility issues. I always try to change whatever I based on comments my guests make. I’m afraid that these two items I can’t change but it is good for anyone with mobility issues to note 5 steps in the vestibule from street level to my door, and the claw tub. Beth and her group are welcome back any time!

Charlestown. MA Gem!

  • 5 of 5

Located in a charming area of Boston, very near to the USS Constitution and Bunker Hill Monument. Lovely Federalist home easily accommodated ourselves and our 2 teenage grandchildren, with space for all. Mary Lee was a generous hostess, who left 'starter breakfast food' for us in a full-size refrigerator. Apartment was clean, well-maintained, with comfortable beds, climate control, cable TV and a very well-equipped kitchen with a wide variety of pots, pans, dishes, utensils and cleaning supplies, not to overlook a vast supply of herbs and seasonings. The washer, dryer and dishwasher were an added bonus!. Also provided was an in-depth listing of local attractions, maps of the area, restaurants, and suggestions for dinner. A quiet, leafy neighborhood but close to the ferry and MBTA bus line. A pleasant 15-minute ferry ride brings you to the Long Wharf in Boston Harbor. The North End is an easy walk. Also for those inclined, very close to a stop for the Duck Tour, trolley tour and the hop-on, hop-off Boston touring bus. Parking garage nearby. Fabulous alternative to a smaller room in an expensive hotel.

Dad and daughter weekend

  • 4 of 5

Combo birthday/Father's Day weekend. First time in Boston. Great location and 15 minute walk to the North End. Close to Bunker Hill and Navy Yard/USS Constitution. Felt very safe walking around. MaryLee was quite the hostess. Left snacks in the refrigerator and bottled water.

Owner's Response: It was great to meet Dad and daughter. I like to meet my guests if at all possible, show them around and answer questions. I’m only a text away. They were wonderful guests and left everything in good order. Thanks so much!
