About Brigitte Lange

Kris and I have lived in East Nashville for 9 years. We have three children, Tennyson (6), Eliot (4), and our third and last child Whit (born December 15, 2014). I am a Speech Pathologist who specializes in adults with strokes, but I am currently staying at home treasuring the moments with Tennyson, Eliot, and Whit. Kris is Director, Sales | Textbooks for Ingram Content Group.

We hope you will fall in love with our neighborhood as we have. We love the proximity to Downtown, the walkability, and the ubiquity of local, independent restaurants, coffee shops, and retail shops. Most importantly, we love the strong sense of community provided by our neighbors, and we hope we can extend that arm to you.

Brigitte Lange purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Brigitte Lange chose Lockeland Springs

We discovered this charming, historic neighborhood because of its proximity to Downtown, its strong sense of community, and its strong support of independent restaurants and retail. This historic neighborhood has a strong sense of culture and lots of creative energy. Everyone believes in knowing their neighbors. We love that we can get anywhere in the city in 15 minutes or less. Our neighborhood is appalled by traffic and chooses to not support gas companies :)

What makes this cottage unique

We love the location of our house. We can walk to the grocery store, Butcher Shop, Dry Cleaners, the best coffee shop in town (Barista Parlor), bars, restaurants, the post office, the bank, the hardware store, and retail shops all within 5 minutes.

Better than a hotel, in every way!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time renting a home for a vacation trip. It won’t be the last. Everything.we needed was close at hand - grocery stores, drug stores, restaurants, tourist attractions. We finally made our pilgrimage to the Ryman Auditorium, less than 3 miles away. All in all, it felt like a great vacation without ever leaving home.

Fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Urban Cottage! A handful of times, I contacted Bridgitte with a few questions and she always responded quickly. At our stay, Bridgitte had a selection of snacks available as well as some health and beauty products in the bathroom. The house was very tastefully decorated and felt like our home away from home. We especially loved sitting on the front porch swing. I was a bit worried about being able to sleep at night because I need a fan for white noise. I was beyond happy to see that Bridgitte supplies a fan as well as a white noise device for sleeping!

We were only a few blocks from Aldi to pick up a few groceries. The house is only about four blocks from some local establishments. We enjoyed walking to the Red Door Saloon for some drinks and great food. We also tried burgers and shakes at the Pharmacy and tacos at Mas Tacos (featured on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives), all were fantastic, and about a 15 min walk. The Urban Cottage is in an up and coming neighborhood, saw many people out walking including families.

Sites in Nashville that we visited were, a show at the Grand Ole Opry and a tour with the Nash Trash Tour. We also visited the Johnny Cash museum. Our first time in Nashville and we fell in love with the city. We did not rent a car, but instead used Uber and Lyft. Rides downtown varied between $8-18 depending on time of day and the day of the week that we used them.

I would definitely stay at Urban Cottage again.

Great Location!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our visit to Nashville and the location was perfect as we walked to many of our destinations. Uber was reasonable to those times when our destination was a little further out. Well worth the money.

Super cute place!

Absolutely loved the cottage. Everything was as expected. I really appreciated having shampoo and conditioner there!! Uber rides were about $7-10 to most places downtown and about 5-10 minute drive.
