Very spacious (80 sq meters), with well-proportioned, high ceiling rooms and all facilities. Consisting of an office (should you really need to work!), living/dining room (with an extendable dining table that comfortably seats six), generously equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower, dressing room and two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and opens onto a sun filled balcony with views over one of the old town’s character filled streets. The second bedroom, up an interesting set of stairs (mind your head if very tall) consists of two single beds and a very comfortable single futon. So the accommodation is able to holiday five people with immense ease. It has its own private entrance off one of the prettiest streets in the old town. Indeed, we think that it would be very difficult to find another property that gives such a total immersion into the real Villefranche whilst offering a similar level of convenience.
The apartment as a base is one thing, but what of Villefranche and what else/where else is there?
Villefranche itself is wonderful. Ten minutes from the exciting city of Nice but in so many ways, another world. The Medieval old town, the beautiful sandy beach, the port, the historic Citadel, the Jean Cocteau decorated San Pierre chapel, the incredible walks and the relaxed pace of life all combine to offer a real holiday experience.
You want more? Take the train as it continues down the coast on one of the most scenic routes you can travel, through Eze, Monte Carlo, Menton and on down into Italy and the lovely market town of Ventimiglia. Or go the other way and explore Cannes, Antibes and St Tropez. Determined to hire a car? Then Grasse and all of Provence await. Golf? try Monaco or Cannes area and again be captivated by the views and the quality.

Too many steps! We are all in our 70's
We thank Jack for the nice comments about our apartment. Just to clarify - where he has mentioned 'too many steps' he is referring to the Village - there are only three small steps into our apartment from the entrance which is at street level in the old town.
Wonderful location in a beautifully appointed apartment
We loved our stay in this cozy, bright, well decorated apartment in the midst of old town Villefranche. We were in the middle of everything: art, historical village, fantastic restaurants, beach scene, port side ambiance and easy access to everything the Cote D'Azur has to offer. The owners send you a nice summary of things to do and places to go. This was one of many trips to Villefranche and we returned to many familar places and just took in the beauty, sun and art. If for no other reason stay at Villefranche and overdose on Picasso, Renoir, Matisse, Chagall, Cocteau, Foundation Maeght, Leger, Andre Villers to name just some of the giants of the 20th century art explosion. You cannot make a mistake by staying in Villefranche.
Elegant and tasteful retreat in an elegant and tasteful setting
Villefranche-sur-mer is one of Southern France's most elegant and tasteful locations. It's only right that you expect the same of wherever you choose to stay. Michael and Anne's apartment does not disappoint. They've taken so much care to furnish and decorate. I'd say it's one of the best appointed holiday rentals we've ever chosen. Everything is just right. The main bedroom is pure white with French doors opening high above one of the charming narrow streets. It faces south and when the sun is streaming in, as it nearly always is, you're in an unequalled romantic setting. Our thanks to the Connolly family. We'll be back.
We loved this property it was in a perfect location close to everything yet still very quite area. The apartment had all the amenities you could need. Space was perfect and very clean. If we can think if one flaw is that it did get a little warm and the fans were limited or maybe just two small. I am sure this can easily be addressed.
A Gem in the South of France
We spent ten days in Villefranche at rue Baron de Bres and enjoyed every moment. The apartment is comfortable, spotlessly clean and close to everything.
Sue was extremely helpful, arranging taxis and offering advice on where to eat and what to see. And there is lots and lots of information at the apartment on just about everything in the area.
On the one day of chilly, rather rainy weather, we stayed in for half the day with the newspapers and enjoyed the comforts of the apartment, including the washing machine.
Otherwise, we took buses and trains (the people in the Tourist Information Centre near the Octroi bus stop are very helpful) to major and minor sites and walked and climbed and photographed all of it.
We enjoyed our holiday so much that we have decided to leave Villefranche and the apartment on our "bucket list". Both are worth another visit.
Located on one of the prettiest bays on the Riviera, Villefranche is excellently situated on the sea, has myriad beautiful walks, a tremendous sense of living history and yet is only 10 minutes travel from Nice and all of its charms. The ‘old town’ is one of the gems of the South of France and this apartment really lets you live the experience. 100 metres from the bay, a short walk from the restaurants, shops, bars and railway station; yet in a world of tranquility with it's own ground floor entrance off the beautiful sun dappled lane that is Rue Baron de Bres.
