LOST RIVER, WV (2 hours from DC, 2.5 – 3.5 hours from Baltimore and Richmond, and 5 hours from Philadelphia). Lost River, West Virginia is situated between the George Washington National Forest, the Lost River State Park, and miles upon miles of pastoral country roads and farmsteads.
Luxurious cabin in the Mountains, minutes from the Lost River community hub (Lost River Artisans Co-op, Lost River General Store, Lost River Yoga), restaurants, Trout Pond National Park, and Lost River State Park. This 2-level home has open and spacious entertaining space with views that you will want to share with friends and family. Cooks will stay part of the action with open floor plan, and will love the grill option on the deck. Enjoy our new private yoga studio with a local yoga teacher, massage therapist, or on your own.
Wrap-around covered decks and screened porches let you find a special place to catch sun, read a book, or nap. If you want to explore - go hiking, horseback riding, white water rafting, cycling, fishing, antiquing, bird watching at the nearby parks, or on the 5.01 acres. Flyers are available for you to peruse.
Enjoy a glass of your favorite beverage in front of one of the two wood-burning fireplaces - one in the great room and one on the adjoining screened-in porch.
We built an office on property, and hope to have that ready soon for your very own private fitness/yoga studio. You can see it in some of the pictures, it is the smaller building with all of the steps.
Of course we have all the modern day luxuries for your use: central air conditioning and heat, cable TV, laundry facilities, and WiFi.
PLEASE Note: Although our cabin can sleep up to six, the rates quoted are for 1-4 people. There is an extra charge ($35 per person, per night) for the fifth and sixth person.

About Donald Hitchcock and Paul Yandura
We are transplants from Washington, DC. We love the community in Lost River, WV and it has become home for us. We are so busy with our new venture - Lost River Trading Post in Wardensville, WV - that we wanted to share our cabin with others so that they can experience the beauty of the Lost River Valley.
Donald Hitchcock and Paul Yandura purchased this Cabin in 2008
Why Donald Hitchcock and Paul Yandura chose Lost River
We had a very busy and stressful life in Washington, DC, and Lost River was an escape for us. Our two day weekends, grew to three day weekends, then to four day weekends. Now we live in West Virginia full time and go back to Washington, DC only when necessary.
What makes this Cabin unique
We have such a great location and view at our cabin. I like to say we are in the friendliest and coolest neighborhood. It is literally 5 minutes to eat, 5 minutes to yoga, and 5 minutes to ice cream, but feels so far from everything. The only cabin in Lost River with its own private yoga studio. Studio accommodates up to six comfortably.

Perfection as always
We keep coming back to this beautiful property. The owners keep it in pristine condition and do everything to ensure a relaxing and comfortable visit. Thank you, Donald and Paul!
The cabin is beautiful! It is very comfortable, well maintained and wonderfully decorated. We had all the comfort that we expected and more. We took semi-prepared food and ingredients for other dishes and we had enough delicious food for our stay. The cabin was warm, my family used the indoors and outdoor fire place what we enjoyed. We went for walks and drove around. Although we took all that we needed for our stay, including some towels, we found many things already available such as for our hygiene needs, including robes (!). In the kitchen there were a variety of condiments, bags, foil, etc.
We met the women at the general store and had ice-cream. Very nice people!
Thanks Donald and Paul, I am sure we will visit again!
We had an amazing relaxing stay. Home had everything you will need. Owners are wonderful! Would definitely come again! Love the area, trout park is a must see
Outstanding spotless property with fantastic views of Mountains & Stars!
Spacious, open concept, beautifully decorated, very well equipped home in the Mountains, is what we found with Lost Pines. Communication with the owners is always quick, easy & through. The owners maintain this property as if it was their sole luxury private home. The fireplace on the screened porch is our favorite spot on a cool fall day or evening. The view of the mountains or stars, from the porches or back deck, oh my! I almost failed to mention the comfortable bed, walk in shower, hammock & tremendous entertainment space! I can't wait til we are able to return to Lost Pines!
What a beautiful home amazingly decorated
