Location, location, location! First block off Main, on San Antonio. Short walk to cute shops and tasting rooms, and super close to eateries with great atmospheres and music!

Das Tejas is a 2002 timber and stone home built with the historic styling of an late 1800's German pioneer home. We have been the proud owners of this lovely home since 2014. Our home features fine period antiques and primitives, along with fine textiles and a growing collection of the owners quilts. Architectural features of this home include a wood burning stone fireplace, cypress beam and pine wood ceilings, stained concrete floors down with wide-plank pine floors up, and granite counters. The large master bedroom is located downstairs off the comfortable living room, and includes an on suite bathroom with recently remodeled walk-in shower and two separate sinks. Guests will appreciate the convenience of an additional half bath, also recently remodeled with double sink and make-up station, along with a super fast download internet connection. The fully equipped kitchen allows for the preparation of a nice family meal when not taking advantage of one of the fine Fredericksburg restaurants within walking distance. The dining area opens up to the kitchen and boasts a table that will accommodate guest seating to six. This area is a perfect location for after dinner games and puzzles found in the home. There is a second private bedroom on the second level, along with a *(semi-private) sleeping loft/television lounge, and an additional bathroom. Covered patios and around the home and a large stone patio in the back allow for relaxation, with private hot tub. Enjoy star gazing around the recently added fire-pit.This home is best used for up to two couples wanting their own private spaces, or a family/friends group of up to six.

Please be considerate of our wishes that our home remain restricted to children under 12 and all pets. Travelers with pets are encouraged to contact us in advance of their stay to receive suggestions on pet resorts in the area. This is a non-smoking home. No Batchelorette parties or groups over six.

Das Tejas (DT) - Zwei, a second guest house, sits at the back of the super deep lot (200 feet). This unit is used by the owners. If you are in need of additional space for your group, contact us and let us know. We may consider rental of DTZ too. Guest homes are separated by a, newly installed and expanding landscaped yard space.

We have now met our goal of moving to the area after Brice retired in late 2015. This is truly our dream come true and we are looking forward to sharing it with you.

Beautiful home with excellent location and best amenities!

This house is just a block ftom Main Street, and yet feels like you’re in the country. Such charm and nicely updated. The amenities in the house were everything we needed and more. Amenities outside included a well maintained amd clean hot tub, and beautiful fire pit and seating area - perfect for s’mores!

The home was wonderful. The owners put in great attention to every detail. We absolutely loved it. We had all of the comforts of home. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The bathrooms had plenty of towels and nice toiletries. We enjoyed the hot tub at night. It was a fabulous weekend with dear friends and we loved this beautiful home on a quiet street. Thank you Missy! Your home is one of the best vacation rentals we’ve stayed in.
