Located very close to Marbella, this small and lovely 2 bedroom home is located atop the hills right on the beach of Pitahaya. Casa Don Marcos has an adventurous vibe, it has a 280 degree view of the beaches closes by. Early morning sunrises are perfectly enjoyed outside in the seating area or hammock paired with local coffee, listen as monkeys have conversations around you. Wildlife is abundant in the dry forest of Guanacaste, prepare to see hummingbirds, vultures, pelicans, and many other species of birds, butterflies, iguanas. Cook a typical Costa Rican meal in the kitchen space or head to a closely located restaurant in Marbella, Playa Azul (Vera Cruz) or San Juanillo which is a fishing village and beautiful bay to explore. There are two air conditioners, one for each bedroom, with comfortable queen sized beds, doors that open up to the property and bathrooms. The Master bedroom (roughly the same size as the other bedroom) has an attached bathroom that leads to an outdoor shower, tucked away for privacy but open aired to listen to the waves from the beach. Snorkel the bay, horseback ride the beach, fish off the rocks or with our friends at Paski's, or drive to one of the tours our property management team has booked for you. There's nothing you can't do while you are with us, but if you're the type who wants to just relax in a quiet space and get away from the hustle and bustle of life, that is perfectly possible too.

Senor Marcos likes the fun to be found in Costa Rica. A day without 3 adventures isn't a day at all in Costa Rica.
Jessica purchased this House in 2000
Why Jessica chose Cantón Santa Cruz
This is the best location we've seen in Costa Rica. People who visit (after yelling at us for not telling them we had such a great property) are blown away by the views and the privacy of this spot. (see the pictures)
What makes this House unique
Practically-private beaches on both sides. Local monkeys to keep you amused. Ridiculous sunsets. Everything you need within a short drive north or South.

Amazing privacy & views!!!
If you are looking for a private, ocean-front escape, look no further! This 2 bedroom villa boasts amazing views & total privacy!
Great views and fun times
We stayed at Marbella for 4 nights and had an absolute blast. This is such a unique property with 270 degree ocean views, amazing sunsets, and all of the outdoor equipment you could want. The two bedrooms/bathrooms made the place even more comfortable for friends to share the space. One of the most unique properties I’ve ever visited - would definitely go back!
270 Degree Ocean Views I Will Never Forget
The ocean views from this house were so unbelievably beautiful we were nearly rushing to get back to the house each time we left. We watched several sunsets from this house that will be permanently ingrained into my memory. On top of views and privacy that had us feeling like we were on our own little private island, the house itself was perfect. A huge living room with ocean views, a nicely stocked kitchen, 2 spacious bedrooms with A/C, and 2 bathrooms with 3 different showers (2 outdoors, but still very private and usable). The house was also stocked with enough supplies and toys to keep you entertained for weeks including everything from beach towels to mountain bikes to scuba gear to sunscreen.
The house has an observation deck on the roof from which the views only got better. The observation deck was also a perfect place to take in the stars at night.
My group loved our stay at this house and we would honestly return to Costa Rica just so that we could stay in this house again. A unique one of a kind experience, don't miss it!
If this house is on your list of possible bookings you should cancel all others and immediately book here. Pictures of the property do not do this place justice. We stayed here for 10 days and we wish we could have stayed forever.
You will need a quad or other form of 4 wheeler to get to the house, which is part of the charm. We rented one from Rodrigo (Sp?) down the road for pennies on the dollar compared to the outrageous prices for rental cars. Not only was this cheaper but there's nothing quite like tearing around San Juanillo and Nosara on a 4 wheel drive with a basket of fresh fish, fruit, and vegetables. I highly suggest this option. This house is called Casa Adventura for a reason. Apparently there are plans in the works (Tico time) for the development of a road to the house but for now you have to cross a beach and a tidal stream that varies in width dependent on the tides.
To say the house itself is beautiful is an understatement. It's custom made to experience the beautiful natural settings in their entirety. There's a huge wrap around patio that overlooks the Pacific where we spent countless hours relaxing listening to the surf. The house inside is stocked with everything you'll need comfort wise, along with a bounty of extra gear that you can use (snorkeling, boogy boarding, fishing, etc.). For your cooking needs you have everything available in the fully stocked kitchen and while there are great restaurants nearby we highly recommend visiting the fish monger (he has everything!) in San Juanillo and grabbing some whole Snapper to grill at the house. The morning of our first day we were woken up to the sounds of Howler monkeys chilling out in the trees directly behind the house! If you head this way during the winter months, and keep a keen eye on the horizon, there's a solid chance you'll see whales migrating too. This is a magical house in a truly magical region.
While we could go on about all of the wonderful things this place has to offer we would be remiss not to mention one of the main elements that made this stay so special. Jessica, Leah, Zak, and Mike are amazing people. We cannot overstate our gratitude for them, not only for their professional acumen, but also for their boundless positive energy and unbridled kindness. They can do anything or get anything you need. Utilize their services whenever possible. They were always available and extremely courteous. The trip would not have been the same without them.
We had a wonderful time! Loved the privacy! Want to come back again one day. The property management group were excellent- very helpful and accomodating!
An incredible stay at an amazing property!
My husband and I stayed at Casa Aventura for 10 days for our honeymoon and it was amazing! The house was more perfect than we expected it to be. The bedroom we stayed in was super comfortable with an attached full bathroom and further attached private yet outdoor shower. Linens, pillows, soaps/shampoos and a hair dryer were stocked up in the rooms. Most mornings we made breakfast and coffee in the kitchen that was stocked with pots, pans, silverware, napkins etc (essentially everything we needed but the food we bought at the market!) and ate overlooking the beach right outside the front door and called our son using Facetime thanks to the included WiFi Then we could take the short one minute walk to the beach to explore and relax! We rented an ATV, through the help of Jessica and Zak, for the week to get around. It was nice being able to travel and explore on our own (and cheap) so we would highly encourage you do this!
We loved going to the Surf Inn, they have great drinks (chile guaro shots- you have to try them!), a pool table, darts, a swimming pool and a full menu! We also spent some time at San Juanillo where there are a couple cafes to go to and another beach. At this beach we did whale and dolphin watching! Finally we went to Nosara which was a really cool place. Tons of little shops, cafes, bars, and beaches. We also did Zip Lining here at Miss Sky Canopy (the longest zip line course in the world!) and it was absolutely amazing. The staff were super nice and made us feel very comfortable as we zipped over the forest and waterfalls.
Overall, I think one of the coolest things was just being so immersed in nature. The house isn't next to a bunch of neighbors or even by the road. You cross a beach (which my husband loved doing on the ATV) and go up a small trail (like a driveway of sorts) and it opens up to this great open space surrounded by trees and water. It's perfectly private and relaxing. We even saw monkeys eating mangos right off the trees while we lounged on the hammock.
I honestly cannot say enough great things about our stay and cannot wait to go back!!
Located near the small coastal town of Marbella, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, the Beachfront 'Sunset Cabina' is a comfortable, private getaway with truly world class views. From monkeys, to whales, to the nearby turtles at Ostional, this is authentic Costa Rica and the ideal place to make memories.
Local Surfing is top notch! You can rent surf boards from Tiki Hut, less than 3 mi from property. Also check out their extensive menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
