Charming cottage, in luxurious private organic garden, outdoor shower! Cheers!
Nestled in a quiet North Austin neighborhood, with a romantic outdoor shower and yoga loft, the Bed and Brew boasts local craft beer or homebrew in the fridge, multiple outdoor seating areas, BBQ smoker grill, and chiminea all set in an award winning organic garden. Central Texas has one of the most active and unique craft brewing scenes in the country; within 5 miles of our location there are eight beer-brewing establishments and the best homebrew supply store in Texas. In Austin, there are at least 25 breweries and brewpubs; brewers at each of these locations see beer through a unique and interesting lens.
Standard amenities include craft beer or homebrew in the full-sized fridge on arrival and chilled pint glasses in the freezer. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the gardens and use available herbs and veggies in their culinary explorations. Each night's stay includes organic coffee and tea. Visitors use plush bathrobes and greywater friendly sundries for use in the shower, whose drain feeds into the greens and herb gardens.
Convenient public transport is nearby. The #5 bus which takes you to the University of Texas and downtown Austin stops at the corner of Woodrow and Dartmouth, and Metro Rapid buses and the Metro Rail Crestview station are just blocks away. Close enough to conveniently reach all Austin festivals (SXSW, ACL, and others), but far enough away to ensure a peaceful night's rest.
The Bed and Brew neighborhood (Crestview) was once cotton fields on the border of the Blackland Prairie and the Balcones Escarpment on the edge of the Texas Hill Country. Our property has over 250 native plants as well as fruit trees an herb garden and is a registered Wildlife Habitat. Ideal for birders, as we participate in the Cornell FeederWatch project yearly, expect to see between 11-25 species of local birds and butterflies depending on the time of year. American Clay and non-toxic cleaners make this spot ideal for sensitive people seeking a clean, eco-friendly responsible destination for the adventurous and intellectual traveler. The Bed and Brew includes an expansive library and a 42'
TV, wifi, commercial free Pandora and Netflix. Ideal for people seeking to check out Austin for a weekend, a week, or longer.

About Cheryl Goveia
Greg and Cheryl met at Alternative Teacher Training in '98 and both taught in Austin Independent School District for many years while raising a family and exploring the abundant wonders of the rich Austin art scene. Both are Capital City Master Naturalists and the property is an eco-friendly establishment and was designed and created by Cheryl a local artist, gardener and yoga instructor as an oasis in the desert. Our property is an award winning garden which as been on the cities Master Gardener tour and is a feature in the neighborhood. We are both founding members of Blackstar Pub and Brewery, the only Homebrew COOP in the world. When we travel we seek out unique places run by loving people who enjoy the art of entertaining! We simply love meeting new people and have always wanted to share our love of this wonderful place with others.
Cheryl Goveia purchased this Cottage in 2014
Why Cheryl Goveia chose Crestview
We were both military brats, who resented the constant upheaval that lifestyle commands. When it came time to raising a family of our own, we chose Austin as it has fabulous weather, year round gardening, is near beautiful State Parks, natural swimming holes, has more live music than anywhere in the country has a a vibrant and growing art scene and now is considered one of the top destinations for exploring the exploding, Craft Beer Scene. Crestview is an old school neighborhood with 1950's modest homes, huge lots and mature trees, we have lived in our home for 17 years and the Bn'B is a new endeavor. We wanted a safe and quiet location that was very close to wonderful schools, natural areas and the outstanding cosmopolitan downtown scene.
What makes this Cottage unique
Our Bn'B was born out of a love of having fun and staying young. It's not for everyone. You have to see the joy in climbing a ladder to a sleeping loft that has a beautiful view of an architecturally well thought out space with clear story lighting, natural American Clay walls and want to experience an enormous outdoor, breezy and luxurious shower. Our place was built for us, by us and with the environment specifically in mind. A lot of the features, such as the 3' stained glass window, the book collection and the stained concrete floors have been thought out and executed with artistic precision. Our place is free-standing so you won't be hearing someone above or beside you, and is set back among beautiful plants in a uniquely designed garden which we lovingly refer to while in, Homestead TV. And, finally I don't believe there is another establishment where you will find beer in the fridge and chilled glasses in the freezer. The fridge has some condiments, there is an extensive herb rack and fresh herbs available for your use. Depending on the season, also greens and fruit in the garden. We have lovingly considered the details of having an adventurous getaway, in town...a wonderful escape, a notch above glamping or an artists retreat...someplace to work out that song, finish your novel, or just have a lay in with excellent coffee with a tiny library. Owners live on site, just steps away and are happy to share their love of Austin and suggest activities. Enjoy our beer themed, brand new, ticket to relaxation and have fun! No pets, no children, and absolutely no smoking. Pour yourself a beer and chillax!

A Memory Forever Cherished
Staying at Austin Bed & Brew, was a cozy experience. It was more like visiting family. Our hosts Cheryl & Greg made sure we felt at home right away. I have never stayed anywhere where the hosts were so involved yet you still felt a sense of personal space and privacy. The balance was perfection and the energy was kind and pure. Every detail of the loft was so well thought out and personalized to our stay. You won’t find this in very many places you stay. The garden is beautiful and picturesque. The outdoor shower is rejuvenating, refreshing, and probably my favorite part of our stay. The beer was delicious, the chickens were adorable! Fresh eggs every morning for breakfast. We will definitely be coming back to stay again and I would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you Greg and Cheryl for all of your warm hospitality and giving us an experience to remember forever. <3
Wounderful cottage/Tiny House
This was the cutest VRBO we have ever stayed in! It is the layout of a tiny house with a loft but larger. It has an arty vibe, a beautiful garden space, a nice kitchen, a great library, and a wonderful shower outside! Cheryl and Greg were super friendly, attentive and accommodating. The only thing others should be aware of is that the tv was in the loft/yoga area (bed is now downstairs) and because we are “older”, there weren’t chairs we could sit in up there. We watched Netflix on our computer so it wasn’t a problem for us but could be for other older people. However, we would totally stay there again and would highly recommend it to others!! It was a special and unique experience and ya don t have to like beer to enjoy your stay!!!
Wonderful hosts at a unique getaway
Greg and Cheryl went out of their way to welcome us...the property was wonderful and had everything we needed. Our hosts made themselves available to answer questions or address needs...
Refreshing and soul cleansing environment
We absolutely enjoyed every minute- the garden is so relaxing, the outside shower was top notch, and I could go on for days. Cheryl and Greg went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and answered any questions we had. We will return for sure. I highly recommend this rental.

What sweet words! We had a great time by the fire getting to know you guys a bit and we're sorry we didn't get to wrap up with coffee on Sunday! We're glad you marked time at our little cottage. Happy 3rd anniversary! Hope to see you again some day...cheers!
I sincerely doubt there is a better B&B and better hosts in all of Texas
We stayed at the Bed & Brew because we are relocating to Austin and wanted a nice place to crash while looking and this place far exceeded our expectations. I travel A LOT for work and for pleasure (all around the world) and this is HANDS DOWN the most unique and wonderful place I have ever stayed at. From the clay walls, stained glass, and fun lofted area...down to the garden that is literally like a slice of heaven on earth--I have never stayed some place so beautiful and serene! And the outdoor shower is like an oasis! I also loved that the water from the shower goes to support the organic garden. The house and yard and beyond well maintained, the neighborhood is amazing (not only safe but friendly and welcoming with tons of things you can walk to). I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT and didn't want to leave--in fact--we decided to rent a home in the same neighborhood because it left such a wonderful impression on my husband and I. And the hosts are wonderful people. They are both so welcoming and neighborly and knowledgeable about the area. They gave us so many recommendations for where to eat and explore and they were all spot on. And they are the kind of people who really want to know their guests. We enjoyed a happy hour with them and had wonderful conversation about who we all are, our goals/interests, and so many other things. Our only regret is that we will be living in the area so we can't justify staying there again but we will DEFINITELY be recommending this place to friends and family when they come to the Austin area. DO NOT HESITATE--BOOK NOW!!!
Loved this little house. Well decorated and cozy - had such a great feel to it. And the outdoor shower was as amazing as promised! It's in a great location - we were able to get anywhere in and around town in minutes. Definitely would recommend to friends.
