LOCATION

This condo is nestled high (10,000 ft. elevation) in the Kachina Valley between Wheeler and Kachina Peak. It is 1.7 miles up from the main Taos Ski Valley. It is adjacent to the Williams Lake Trail Head and walking distance (10 minutes) to TSV Lift 4 and the delicious guest favorite Bavarian Restaurant. There is a 2 mile stretch of a well maintained gravel road that requires 4WD or chains in the winter. Summer travelers will do fine with 2WD/AWD.

KITCHEN

The kitchen includes seating for 6, coffee makers (drip - filters included, Keurig, French Press - we love our coffee!!), blender, toaster, large fridge, ice maker/dispenser, water dispenser, microwave, stove top, oven, a wide array of pots, pans (including large pot to boil pasta) and dishes, some pantry staples such as flour, sugar, salt, pepper, steak spice, olive oil, safflower oil, spay oil, wine opener, wine aerator and a large propane grill on the covered deck.

MASTER SUITE

The master suite includes a king size bed, down comforter, walk in closet, dresser, flat screen TV, large bathroom with jetted tub and separate walk in shower, large vanity with single sink. Windows provide views into the tall pines.

SECOND BEDROOM/HOUSE BATH (sleeps 3)

The second bedroom includes a queen size bed with a twin bunk above finished with down comforters on both, large closet and pocket door access to house bath. House bath includes a large tub/shower and pedestal sink.

WASHER/DRYER

The condo includes a washer and dryer. Laundry soap and dryer sheets are included. There is also an iron and ironing board.

ROLL AWAY TWIN BED

The condo will accommodate a 6th person on a twin roll away bed.

TV/WIFI/ELECTRONICS

We subscribe to DirectTV (150 channel premium package). There is a 53' wall mounted flat screen in the family room and a 32' flat screen in the master suite. The condo has WIFI. Connect your iPhone or other device to a JBL speaker deck via an iPhone connector or AUX cable and listen to your tunes. BluRay/DVD player and several kid friendly movies.

HEATED GARAGE

There is an over-sized one car garage available to our guests. Unload your bikes and ski equipment and store it along with your automobile in the heated garage. Some super-sized SUV's/Trucks might not fit length wise. There is a ski rack and boot drying rack along with a seating area to change into your boots. In addition to the radiant floor heat, we also have a space heater to ensure boots are cozy in the morning.

MAIN LIVING AREA

The main living area includes very cozy furniture and a gas log fireplace. A large window and sliding door provide amazing views of the Kachina and Wheeler Peaks.

COVERED DECK

A large covered deck has a propane grill, table and seating for 4.

PETS

You are welcome to bring your four legged family members. We have some accommodations for pets such as one medium and one large cushion type bed, poop bags, elevated water and food bowls, retractable leash and a dog brush. There is a $30 fee per stay.

CANCELLATION POLICY

100 % if cancelled 30 days prior to the Check-in Date

50 % if cancelled 15-29 days prior to the Check-in Date

0% if cancelled 0-14 days prior to Check-in-Date

PAYMENT POLICY

50% due at time of booking

50% plus $250 refundable deposit due 15 days prior to arrival.

Our payment policy aligns with our cancellation policy and allows for the security deposit payment and security deposit refund to process within the same credit card billing cycle.

We don't charge extra for cleaning.

Kyle and Crystal, along with a few family members, pooled resources to purchase this awesome Taos Ski Valley condo late summer of 2014. Recently married, we are a combined family with our teen base ball player, Shane and a Siberian Husky named Timber. We reside in Albuquerque, NM and frequently enjoy the condo.

Why Kyle Zottnick chose New Mexico

We’ve been skiers for three decades and Taos was always a ski area we enjoyed coming to every year. The ski area is large and world class but it has a small town local vibe. There are year round activities up in the valley so we found ourselves looking just as forward to our summer visits. We probably became silly excited about this place during our summer and winter lunches on the deck of the Bavarian. There is nothing like the feel of the warm sun in the cool mountain air. The large deck at the Bavarian is rustic and sun drenched. The views of Kachina and Wheeler are incredible. A little walk through the trees behind the Bavarian is our Wheeler Peak condo. The windows in the family room look out past the covered deck up into the Williams Lake valley. It’s incredible to be able to enjoy that magical mountain experience from the condo now too.

What makes this condo unique

Use of the owners over sized garage will ease the burden of having to lug your skies, boots, bikes, or gear up to the condo. In the garage you will find a heated space with ample room for your automobile too. No scraping snow and ice off your vehicle upon departure and no worries about locking up your bikes and skies.

Perfect!

This is a beautiful condo with all the amenities you could want with the most beautiful views. The owners have thought of everything that will make your stay relaxing so you can enjoy the location. Of all the places we have ever stayed this one felt most like a real home. The owners are very responsive and intent upon making your stay the best possible. We weren't halfway through our stay when we were discussing booking this same location for our next visit to the area! Thank you for such a wonderful home-away-from-home!

Impeccably clean!

We are seasoned VRBO users and this is one of the best. I have severe allergies and nothing in the condo set me off - very clean, all tile floors, well stocked, mattress and pillow covers - this is a well organized, excellent rental. Great views and hiking nearby! Would definitely book again.

Wonderfully equipped and welcoming condo in a perfect location.

The owners are incredibly responsive and organized making access to the unit a breeze and their place is beautifully furnished and equipped. We enjoyed hikes right out the door and the quaint Bavarian for a beer on the deck and for dinner--again just out the door and a short walk down the road. The views from the deck are breathtaking. It is a perfect mountain retreat.

Very nice Taos condo with extra amenities

This condo is an easy stroll downhill (in the summer) to the Bavarian Restaurant and Base of Chair 4... convenient base to hike Williams Lake! We enjoyed the views of Wheeler and Kachina peaks, as well as birdwatching from the covered deck -- and the hummingbird feeders added extra excitement with the birds zooming in regularly to feed.

Private heated one car garage is nice feature, even though it doesn't connect directly to condo (must go outside and take stairs to second floor for condo entrance.)

Owners are very responsive and incredibly organized. Kudos to them for providing a comprehensive list of everything they have in the condo prior to arrival! (Very helpful for pre-arrival shopping and packing purposes.)

The entire condo is well appointed. Master king bed has memory foam mattress and very comfy. Master walk in closet is spacious and has lots of hangers. Second bedroom is a little cramped, but only because it has a bunk bed with queen(?) bed on bottom. Still seems quite functional though, even though we didn't utilize it for our party of two... Both bathrooms are very clean and very modern. Kitchen is well-equipped and living/dining area is very comfortable. Especially appreciated the fan and humidifier to help with adjusting to the high altitude for us sea-levelers...

Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a nice getaway in Taos!

(Tip: Follow signs from the Taos Ski Valley Base to the Bavarian Restaurant... near the upper parking lot at the base. You don't really need a 4WD to get up the access road in summer, but it might make you feel a bit more confident as you wend your way up the pretty steep 3-mile gravel access road. I would imagine that a 4WD and chains are necessary in inclement weather.)
