This adorable, 2-story carriage house is about 700 square feet, and has an open floor plan with the living room and kitchen downstairs, and a large queen bedroom with one full bath (tub/shower) upstairs. There is an optional twin bed available in the same bedroom for an extra charge. The kitchen is stocked with an array of continental breakfast items for you to prepare at your leisure. Parking for one car is included, as well as cable TV and high speed internet access. The interior has traditional, Old World furniture and décor. This property is located in the very desirable “South of Broad Street” area in the historic district of downtown Charleston, but it is on a quiet residential street. You can walk to many wonderful shops, restaurants and galleries. The property has a lovely garden for you to enjoy. The tax rate on this property is 4%.

There is also a twin bed available for a third person with a daily $25 fee.

Fantastic location for walking around Charleston. Add the proprietors and you have a perfect vacation. The daily pastries starts the day. Will definitely stay there again.

The Best!

My husband and I visit Charleston at least once a year. We have previously stayed in a noted bed and breakfast, but they had no vacancy during this trip. We truly regret that its taken us so long to find 6 Orange Street. It was perfect. The charming and private carriage house is located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. Although historic, it was tastefully updated to include excellent air conditioning and a bright, pretty bathroom. We enjoyed the beautiful garden with gorgeous blooming hydrangeas during our stay. It was the perfect peaceful spot to relax and enjoy the delicious breakfast treats at our leisure. A special pastry, coffee cake or muffins appeared fresh each day along with fresh fruit. The kitchen is well stocked and includes cereal, eggs, milk, juice and coffee. I could go on and on, but this place is the real deal. Six Orange Street is great, but what makes this place so exceptional is the owners. They are the PERFECT host and hostess. We can't wait to return!

Delightful people, place, location!

We could not have asked for a better place to stay in Charleston. The owners were very gracious and the accommodations were lovely. We especially enjoyed an evening in the beautiful garden relaxing and visiting. You couldn't ask for a better location. The home is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood steeped in history. The ambiance is amazing. You are steps away from restaurants, museums, shopping, and points of interest. We definitely plan to return to Charleston and stay here again!

Charm and Comfort Combined

A delightful mix of charm and comfort made our stay here very enjoyable. As others have noted, it is on a beautiful and quiet residential street yet within walking distance to to nearly any place you'd want to go downtown. The house is scrupulously clean and decorated with a wonderful historic flavor. We really felt immersed in Old Charleston.

Unlike other vacation lodgings, breakfast treats appeared as if by magic and linens are refreshed and tidied daily. A newspaper even materialized on our doorstep each morning. The hosts take their hospitality seriously. It was a treat to talk with them about the history of the house and the sights, dining and architecture of the city. They could not have been more gracious.

We enjoyed having access to the lovely patio in the garden (watching the chameleons dart about was great fun) and the parking place was a real bonus.

A more pleasant place to stay in Charleston is hard to imagine.

Charleston Charm

Perfection! The carriage house was absolutely phenomenal. Super cute, beautiful courtyard and landscaping, within walking distance to shops and restaurants, and extremely comfortable. And the hospitality was so much more than we even expected. I would definitely stay here again if given the chance!!

Great place to stay in historic Charleston!

Wow, what a charming cottage house! Perfect location, easy walking distance to Charleston Harbor, City Market, shopping and great restaurants. The hosts are wonderful and think of every detail to make your stay perfect. Authentic Charleston garden is a great place to relax & unwind before or after your sightseeing and walking. Located in one of Charleston's most peaceful and historic areas. Can't wait to return!
