AUTHENTIC LOG CABIN: This cabin in located in Dublin, AR, 6.4 miles East of Scranton (15036 East State Hwy 197, Scranton, AR 72863), and adjoins Dublin Park/City Park, which is 2/10 mile (approx. 300 yards) from the cabin, where there is a boat dock and parking for your truck and trailer. Dublin Park/City Park is on Lake Dardanelle and has excellent fishing, skiing, and tubing.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS: When you get to SCRANTON, go EAST on HWY 197 for 6.4 miles. The address is 15036 E State Hwy 197, Scranton, AR 72863. At the entrance to the cabin (right-hand side of the road), you will see an ARKANSAS RAZORBACK rock sign that says "THE SNOW's". (If you get to Dublin Park, you've gone just a little bit too far. Turn around and go back to the first drive you come to.)
THE CABIN was built in 2004 by Bobby Snow (Owner), and has a wonderful cedar smell. It is 500 sq ft on the main floor and 250 sq ft in the loft. There is a queen size bed and an additional queen size mattress on the floor in the loft, so the loft will sleep 4 people. Two people can sleep on the sleeper sofa, and there is also a blow-up double mattress and a blow-up twin mattress that can be used for an additional 2-3 people. Sheets and pillows are provided. A small balcony is upstairs outside the loft door.
CABIN has a flat-screen television, DISH Satellite, and a DVD player. Floors are made of flagstone. There is a spiral staircase going up to the loft.
KITCHEN is fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, dishes, pots and pans, dish towels, dishwashing liquid, plastic wrap, aluminum foil, salt and pepper, etc. No washer, dryer, or dishwasher is available. You are responsible for your food and drinks. If you don't want to cook, there is a great little restaurant about 8 miles away called Porky's. There's also great hamburgers, salads, and daily specials at the 4-Way (gas station) in Scranton. They also have LIVE BAIT for your fishing.
OUTSIDE there is a pavilion that includes a gas grill and a picnic table. A fire pit is next to the pavilion for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. Front porch includes a cedar rocker swing. Also, there are two hammocks that can be hung between the trees, and one chair hammock that can be hung on the porch.
BATHROOM has a shower (no tub), toilet, bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, hair dryer, etc.
We prefer NO PETS inside our cabin. Other guests may be allergic to animals.
AT THE END OF YOUR STAY...
Put all the dirty sheets, towels, etc. in the bathroom.
Clean up the kitchen and put the dishes away.
Take all left-over food with you or feel free to feed the animals.
We will take care of the trash. (Although we have a burn barrel, we prefer that you don't use it. There could be a burn ban in place, and we could be fined.

About Ruth Snow/Bobby Snow
Bobby Snow (owner) built the cabin in 2004. He did the majority of the work himself. He even cut the trees for the cabin! He was in the logging business and rock business and has recently retired. Ruth Snow (wife) couldn't help much in the building process, but she sure had fun decorating it! She worked at POM Incorporated in Russellville for 35 years as their Controller. She retired in 2007 and has learned to live life to the fullest! We have two great daughters and two wonderful sons-in-law and seven beautiful grandchildren ranging in ages 4-20. We feel like we have been blessed with such a wonderful family, and we have had many good times at the cabin. Needless to say, the grandkids love it, and we have made lots of good memories with them.
Ruth Snow/Bobby Snow purchased this Cabin in 2004
Why Ruth Snow/Bobby Snow chose Cane Creek
When you enter the cabin, you smell a cedar aroma that is absolutely wonderful. Every time we open the door, it still smells as good as it did when the cabin was built in 2004. It is so peaceful staying here. I love to lay out on the hammocks and listen to the birds or read a book. I've taken many naps out on my hammock (while Bobby prefers to nap inside the cabin). Bobby enjoys taking his boat out fishing and I like to walk over to Dubin Park and walk around the park, then walk back to the cabin. It's a good little work-out!
What makes this Cabin unique
Our cabin is truly an AUTHENTIC log cabin! . Bobby cut all the trees himself and had them squared and sawed into 20 ft lengths. He put glue between each log and screwed them together with 8 inch leg screws. The square upper window in the living room is made of 1/4" lexan which will never break. He had another guy help him with the handling of the logs. He put in all the windows and the kitchen cabinets. We purchased the spiral staircase and had it installed. The best thing about our cabin is the CEDAR SMELL. I can't even describe how good it smells when you walk in.

Unplug & unwind in a beautiful setting!
This cabin getaway has it all! The cabin is lovely and comfortable in every way! The wildlife passing thru and peaceful quiet of nature make this a perfect place to leave busy lives behind for a few days! We really enjoyed our time there!
We absolutely loved our stay at the Snow's cabin! My husband and I stayed there for a relaxing getaway weekend. The cabin was very clean and the cedar cedar smell was amazing. My husband accidentally left his bag and Ruth mailed it back to us the next day! The cabin is stocked with everything we needed and even though it's right next to the park with a boat ramp, it felt very secluded. Lots of trees! I especially enjoyed reading about how the cabin was built by the owners.
The cabin was very nice. Very well equipped with everything anyone could need.
Very nice and cozy.
We are so glad you enjoyed our cabin. You left it in excellent condition. I love it when a woman comes! We hope you can come back!
Cozy, cedar cabin
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Snow's cabin. Everything was great; only thing we missed was a washer and dryer. We enjoyed the pavilion to cook under outside, the hammocks, and the close proximity to a boat ramp. It was a great first get away for our 2 little families!
So glad you enjoyed our little cabin. I wish we could add a washer and dryer too; possibly in the future sometime.
Felt like home and very welcoming!
Enjoyed your home away from home. We felt very welcomed. Loved being next to Durban Park for a wedding. Would love to come back and relax and try a little fishing.
So glad you enjoyed staying at our cabin! With a wedding right next door at Dublin Park, it sure made it convenient! Driving time to the wedding was about 1-2 minutes. Please try to come back and try a little fishing and relaxation. We'd love to have you!
