Situated in the stunning Blaeberry Valley, 15 minutes drive from Golden, our Cordwood Chalet is the perfect getaway to peacefulness and tranquility in the heart of nature. Built almost a decade ago, its confines and location offers a wide range of outdoor activities. My partner and I have taken 6 years to build this little paradise. We have design and built the place entirely ourselves. We have tried to use as much ecological products as we could and we are proud to offer our guests a stunning surrounding environment.
In the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Cordwood Chalet is on an 8 acres property. The surrounding neighbourhood consist of mostly acreages mountains and forest. Our crystal clear blaeberry river is minutes walk from the chalet where incredible views of the surrounding can be observe. Hiking, biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, snowmobiling are few of several outings that can be done in the area. Our house is about 300 meters away from the Cordwood Chalet. The Chalet has its own driveway and is completely self-sufficient. We like to greet guests upon arrival. Although we respect their privacy, we are available for them at anytime for questions or comments. English ,French and Spanish is spoken

The home is situated 20 minutes outside of Golden in a quiet, serene area. The home itself still feels brand new and was a perfect quiet base camp for our trip in Yoho. Host was communicative and helpful, 5 star stay!

Great secluded chalet

A Perfect Paradise

If you're looking for a place to get away from it all, this is it. If the sounds of birds singing and trees dancing in the mountain breezes are your thing, this is it. The chalet was the perfect getaway for us after three nights in Canmore/Banff. We were looking to dial back our interactions with humanity and just enjoy nature. We found what we were looking for. Isolated, but close to fun things such as whitewater rafting, the Golden Skybridge, Eagles Eye Restaurant at Kicking Horse Resort, etc. Prescilla was the perfect host and greeted us at check-in. The chalet was immaculate and wonderful. We would return in a heartbeat.

Immaculate Chalet

This place was so great, we tried to respect and leave everything as it was when we arrived. We didn’t get to meet Priscilla but her place is just wonderful. So peaceful and perfect for a couple. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary and this was the perfect hide away chalet. One thing my wife wanted was maybe a privacy curtain in the bathroom window, but mountains and trees surrounded the place totally. Never saw anyone except a deer. Again just perfect..

Back woods paradise

This cabin is a “one of a kind” paradise. Lots of wood and stone skillfully strewn together to create a home away from home. Every window, doorframe and corner draws the eye. The kitchen is warm and functional, supplied with all the amenities as well as some basic spices. The loft bathroom with tub has a large window looking out into the woods. Two outdoor patios complement and expand the indoor space. A short drive to Thompson Falls trail.

Black bear right outside our window

Very peaceful and private you can tell the chalet was handmade with love by owners!! MOST enjoyable was seeing a black bear just outside the window one morning. Host was super helpful on tips on places to hike, where to get to supplies, and general tips on getting around. Be sure to check with host before your trip to verify when the Trans Canadian Highway will and will not be open. When we stayed it was closed daily between 10pm and 7am

Back for a second time

Thoroughly enjoyed the second trip to this amazing cabin in the mountains. Loved walking/biking every day in the area and sitting on the deck listening to all the birds. The cabin has been perfectly maintained and the host is always quick to respond. Great place to stay for a quiet, scenic, rural vacation.

Best Experience in my life

You would not feel like you are traveling, you will feel like it is an extension of your home. I went in winter, the peaceful neighborhood that can be quiet without a sound at night, but the beautiful creeks during the day with the singing of birds remind you that you are surrounded by life. It was just perfect

Peaceful Chalet

Our stay at this quaint Chalet nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rockies was one of the best experiences we've had. One can see that this place was thought out and built with beauty and relaxation in mind. The owners' attention to detail is very evident...the window views, kitchen, living room with a cozy woodstove were all little details that we enjoyed. Would love to stay here again sometime. Also I do have to add that the owner Priscilla was very understanding and helpful with whatever we needed, even with an embarrassing mistake that I had made on my part. Thank you again.

Wonderful stay!

I have stayed in many VRBO's and this one is one I will never forget. The place is absolutely charming and I could not more highly recommend staying there. This is the first property at which I have stayed that I actually sent photos of the property to my family and friends... and we have stayed at some excellent properties. It is unique and stunning. You will not be disappointed.

Cordwood Chalet: The Perfect Getaway

Beautiful and simple setting with an earth friendly emphasis. The woodwork reflects love and craftsmanship. The chalet is full of beautiful, elegant,, and handmade touches. Perfect backdrop for our outdoor adventure.. Exceptionally accommodating hostess. Kitchenware is lovely and very well stocked. Can't say enough good things about it.

A little piece of heaven on earth

Our trip to the cordwood chalet was absolutely lovely - everything about this place is beautiful, clean, and relaxing! We loved every single second and hope to return again! The owners were very thorough and organized and quick to respond to questions. The location was perfect for hiking, taking some cold amazing swims, shopping the golden strip, and eating some amazing food both in golden and made at the chalet! The chalet was very well equipped with everything we could need to cook our own meals too! Love love love this place!!! It was awesome!

As advertised

Very quaint country cottage - exactly as advertised, with real pride of ownership. Pricilla (owner, who lives "next door" with her family) even took the time to drop by to make sure everything was OK and to give us some additional information on all of the activities one can do in the area - the Blaeberry river valley is spectacular country. We highly recommend this property.

Amazing Chalet Nestled in the Woods

I would not hesitate to stay here again. Even though it is 15 minutes outside of town, it is so worth it having access to hiking trails and being situated in the woods at the base of beautiful rocky mountains.

Gem of a cabin!

An amazing experience from start to finish. During the booking process Priscilla was kind enough to offer peace of mind in case of cancellation due to work or travel restrictions. Check in was effortless, and Priscilla was a wonderful host, available as needed but respected privacy. The cabin itself is absolutely stunning and everything you could want in a cozy vacation pad. Spotlessly clean and even better than the photos if thats possible! Quick 15min drive to golden for take out or grocery top up and easy access to nearby Yoho park and Banff (approx 1hr). Some great local hikes too! Cant say enough great things - if I lived closer I would certainly be booking Priscilla's cabin all the time. Thanks for a great stay!

A GOLDEN STAY

We absolutely loved the Cordwood Chalet! Every night when we sat down to relax we marveled at the heart and soul you put into the cabin as you built it! The craftsmanship is amazing! We enjoyed the peace and quiet as well as being off the grid for a few days! Thanks for the available games, decks of cards and reading material! We would certainly choose the Cordwood Chalet on our next trip to BC!

Absolutely Wonderful

All the previous reviews were accurate! We loved the Cordwood Chalet and the home a away from home we felt. Priscilla gave us suggestions to local activities, including things to explore right around the neighborhood and a gem of a town we didn't know about Revelstoke. We would stay here again and again! Close enough to what we wanted to do yet relaxing and peaceful away from everyone once we returned 'home'. Perfect for our type of vacation.

Private, Secluded getaway

The Cordwood Chalet is a very clean, nice property. It is 20 minutes outside of Golden and doesn't have internet so be prepared to immerse yourself in the beauty of the out of doors. We had a great time while there and used it as a great home base for visiting 6 national parks on a five day trip. I actually think that we saw more wildlife in the backyard than hiking each day!

Not only was the property well loved and taken care of, it was a perfect mountain getaway. A Special Place

If you like the pictures, you'll love the Cordwood Chalet. The owners built it over the course of years. Every detail has been carefully thought out. (there's even a bread knife in the kitchen!) I would go into detail, but suffice it to say it is beautiful, comfortable, quiet, and unique. The construction is solid, and the area is beautiful, and serene. One of the hosts stopped by for a visit. Not only was it a lovely chat, but he had all sorts of great recommendations for hikes, walks, and activities in the area (including a bison farm and a wolf centre). Thank you for sharing this special place in the world! We'll definitely return!

I want to live here!

Staying at the Cordwood Chalet was one of the best things we ever did, it was extremely hard to leave. We took full advantage of the kitchen, bath tub, windows, and back porch. If you are looking to get away and RELAX, this is perfect. The property was very private. Priscilla was incredible, she was only a text or walk away. She offered a wealth of knowledge about the area and gave us great tips on where to go in the area. Be prepared to disconnect here, you are in the mountains! Cell service was in and out for us, but we expected it and took advantage of the peace and quiet. Do it! You won't regret it!
