About the Property
Large and breezy one bedroom with lovely ocean views.
You’ll enjoy the tropical breezes and lovely views of Buck Island from the apartment, but when the beach pulls at you, there are two from which to choose, both an easy 5-6 minutes walk away. Relax in the lounge chairs provided by the neighborhood association on Miss Bea Beach - chances are, you’ll have it to yourselves - or take the plunge for some lovely snorkeling. At Crescent Beach, the odds are good that you'll see a sea turtle.
Another five minutes walk will get you to the beach at Chenay Bay Resort where you can have a light lunch or dinner and a pina colada, and rent a stand up paddle board or kayak to explore the waters of nearby Green Cay island, a National Wildlife Refuge.
Speaking of walking, people come from other neighborhoods to walk our roads, especially “the loop” which offers beautiful water views east and west. If you prefer more of a workout, we have challenging hiking hills, also with great views.
The apartment has everything you’ll need to make it your home away from home, including Dish Satellite TV for the flat screen, and high-speed internet for your laptop. There is an a/c unit but, truthfully, you will probably never turn it on: the apartment stays cool and breezy most of the time. (Please note that there is a surcharge for use of the a/c.)
Linen, towels and beach towels are provided as are beach chairs and a cooler; iron and ironing board; rain umbrella, blow dryer. Just bring your bathing suit and toothbrush!
Enjoy seasonal tropical fruits from our fenced yard with a gated drive. Do some bird watching - there are many interesting birds to see right from the patio including kestrels that nest in the sugar mill behind our house.
Eat in with the fully equipped kitchen or dine out at numerous restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive. There’s an 18 hole golf course 7 minutes away and you can also be in downtown Christiansted in under 10 for duty free shopping or hop aboard a boat to Buck Island.

*CANCELLATION POLICY: Payments made are refundable, less a $150 administrative fee, if your dates can be re-booked for the same rate. If we offer a discount to secure a replacement rental, you will be charged the difference in the rental amounts plus the $150 administrative fee. If we are not able to re-book for your dates, no payment will be refunded. Reservations are not transferable to another party. We suggest you purchase travel insurance to cover your costs in the event you are forced to cancel.
*Hurricanes and Emergencies: Hurricane Season in St. Croix officially runs from June 1st-November 30th but hurricanes can occur at any time of year. Other natural disasters, airline delays or personal emergencies can also prevent or interrupt a vacation. Vacation insurance is readily available and relatively inexpensive and will protect you from many different events that might preclude or interrupt your vacation. We strongly advise that you purchase such insurance. Other than as stated in our cancellation policy, we will not provide refunds if you are unable to reach St. Croix; or if your stay is interrupted due to any reason outside of Homeowners’ control.

After you have your base tan, a trip to Buck Island is very worthwhile. The water is SO clear, the beach beautiful, and the snorkeling great. There's also a nice hike to the top of the island.
There are lots of good restaurants within just a 5-20 drive. We are lucky that we have such a variety of fine restaurants on our tiny island.
The east end offers kayaking and, on the right day, stand up paddling. This is the end of the island with the best snorkeling, as well with many spots from which to choose.
One of my favorite hikes is just 10 minutes away - to the top of Goat Hill, which affords breathtaking views of all of St. Croix, Buck Island, the sea. It's a great place to meditate.
If you decide to venture out more and explore the rest of the island, the possibilities are endless!

About the owner: Andy and I are long-time residents of St. Croix and met here when we were both involved with the St. Croix Environmental Association. It was work about which we were both passionate and are proud to say we had major roles in the conservation of what is now Salt River National Park and The Nature Conservancy-owned Jacks and Isaacs Bays. In 2001, Rosie became a part of our family and is an island girl through and through, having taken her first several day sailing trip when she was just 8 months old and earning her skin diving “fins” at the age of 9 on another boat excursion. When we aren’t busy with work and school, we enjoy reading, gardening, traveling, kayaking, hiking, snorkeling and diving. We look forward to sharing our love of St. Croix and Caribbean living with you.

When Andy and I met, we each owned a home, and neither wanted to live in the other's. So we set about looking for our home, but couldn't find one that suited us both. One place we did agree on was Miss Bea neighborhood, so when this house became available, we jumped on it.
