Owner is American, lived in St Maarten for 17 years and spared no expense investing in this property and maintaining as it was a primary home. Moved back to the U.S. for medical/family reasons.

Why Kelly chose Maho
With extensive experience in multiple property ownership and developments on the island, we chose this home immediately (before the property was even finished) based on it's outstanding location, structure and luxurious amenities. The house is on the 2nd row overlooking the first row of houses and has a magnificent view, protection from big waves and blowing sand. All the benefits of a beachfront property without the risk and hassle. Security in this community is outstanding with 24-hour guards, electronic surveillance with additional guards & dogs from dusk to dawn. The island is a safe place, and this community just freed our mind from any worry at all. The sunsets are incredible, especially sipping drinks in the rooftop pool. What can we say, it's just a fabulous home and we're glad to share it with you now that life has taken us back to the States. We lived in this home for 5 years and made sure is was fully up-to-date and well maintained as it was indeed our home, not conceived as a rental property.
What makes this Villa unique
Because this was our home, we loaded it up with extra steps like dual (backup) hot water heaters as well as a solar heater on the roof for eco-friendliness. There is triple filtered drinking water from the tap. Island water is fine, but with a compromised immune system in our family we went above and beyond. Stairs are carpeted for comfort. Enjoy!

Buttermoon is absolute perfection.
We just returned from the most enjoyable stay, at Buttermoon. 10 days of relaxation that was absolutely perfect. Buttermoon was everything that Kelly (property manager) had described, and more. Kelly met us at Buttermoon when we arrived and she we so gracious. When you meet Kelly, it’s just like meeting a dear friend that you had not seen for quite some time. We immediately bonded with Kelly and Kelly with us.
Kelly showed us everything about the house from the first floor to the fourth floor in complete detail. Kelly was so thorough introducing us to Buttermoon that we did not have to call her once during our stay.
Buttermoon provides all of the amenities of home. Each of the 4 bedrooms has ensuite baths, each bedroom with amazing views of the Caribbean. The open concept kitchen, dining and living room is spectacular, also with amazing views of the Caribbean. If you want to cook in, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything that you would ever need.
It is so enjoyable staying at Buttermoon that if you just want to just sit by the top floor, private pool all day looking out over the Caribbean, you can.
If you have difficulty climbing stairs, do not worry there is an elevator inside Buttermoon to easily transport you between floors.
Cupecoy Beach is right outside your door. Porto Cupecoy is directly across the street with many wonderful restaurants (we ate at 3 of them) and a fully stocked supermarket should you need to purchase something. St. Maarten is recovering quickly following hurricane Irma with many, many restaurants and shops, throughout the island, open for business.
If you’re looking for a wonderful place in St. Maarten to stay, I highly, highly recommend Buttermoon. You will not be disappointed and you will have the most enjoyable and relaxing stay, thanks to Kelly.

Very clean beautiful property.
Returned again this year for 10 nights. Buttermoon is equipped with any possible item you might need on vacation. The property manager Kelly is the best. I’ve rented many Villas on the island but Kelly is the most professional and she helps makes your stay pleasurable. Coming back again for two weeks next year. Paul Wojciehoski

The villa is amazing and the views are spectacular.We have made two trips to SXM since the devastating hurricane and can report that this property is in perfect condition. All facilities (pool, kitchen equipment, etc )and systems (Wi-Fi, TV etc. )work perfectly. The location is especially good since the Grand Marche supermarket and Porto Cupecoy restaurants (Altro, Mario's Rendez-Vous) are just a 3 minute walk away. This is particularly useful since so many island shops and restaurants on the island are still re-building. Thanks to Kelly, who oversees the villa, our arrival, stay and departure were seamless. We shall return to Buttermoon Villa!
Beautiful property in convenient location
We had a great vacation, the villa was very clean, well maintained, with a gorgeous view, the location of the villa is in the best area close to all nice beaches. Kelly the property manager was extremely helpful, friendly and I believe she is the one behind this well organized villa, we promised her return back soon.
BUTTERMOON VILLA - GREAT CHOICE!
Our group of friends made plans to spend a week in January on St Maarten last August. We searched VRBO and found Buttermoon Villa. I contacted Kelly the property manager with a few questions and even with a four hour time difference she promptly responded.
We put a deposit on the villa and bought airline tickets. Then, Irma comes along. We talked with our friends and we all agreed that the best thing we could do to help the island was to go and spend as much as we could afford there. Our attitude was if we have a place to stay and an airplane to take us we were going.
One of our flights changed but was still doable. The villa sustained some damage but Kelly assured me that it would be repaired by January. We were given the option of a refund but considered it only as a last resort if the villa couldn’t be repaired in time.
Kelly was waiting for us when we arrived and spent time showing us around and answering questions. The home was beautiful and perfectly appointed. Everything was in perfect condition.
The four floors gave our group plenty of space and privacy. The top level pool has a fabulous view. All the bedrooms are large with en suites and outdoor access. There is also a powder room on the pool level and living area.
My husband loves to cook and the gourmet kitchen was well stocked. Kelly also made sure we had a welcome package of coffee, wine, milk, bread, eggs of our choice.
The villa’s location in Cupecoy was perfect. Close to the airport, shopping and restaurants but also quiet. Two of the men were golfers and enjoyed being so close to the course. Puerto Cupecoy is across the road from the villas and has restaurants and shops. There is a Carrefour Market which is small but carries the essentials. There is also a Carrefour on Bush Rd that is huge and very well stocked.
During our stay we drove all over the island, ate, shopped and explored. Yes there is damage but the people are working as hard as possible to rebuild. In our week there we saw visible improvements made. Anyone contemplating going- GO. The people are so appreciative of you being there and supporting their island. Most feel tourism will recover by next season. I would advise to go now and enjoy the island without the crowds.
The home was ideal for us. We would stay there again without hesitation. Kelly was fantastic to deal with.
Our Favorte Home Away From Home
This was our second stay at Buttermoon in the last three months. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the villa manager Kelly, who even though we knew the property was there to answer any questions we might have. The villa was immaculate with everything necessary to make our vacation stay easy and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with items like coffee, milk, bread, eggs and juice so we did not have to run to the store right away. Kudos to Kelly who took the time to ask in advance what our preferences were.
Buttermoon is a lovely property in a gated community. A fifteen minute ride from the airport and the activities of Simpson Bay. It is located right across the street from Porto Cupecoy which has great dining options and a supermarket. The villa it's self is well appointed and comfortable with spacious rooms and a large well equipped kitchen . The roof top pool is beautiful and offers amazing views of the ocean and evening sunset. A great place to sit out and enjoy a cocktail at the end of the day.
I would highly recommend a stay at Buttermoon! We can;t wait to come back.
In the heart of the beautiful Cupecoy/Lowlands community of St Maarten, this gated community villa has 24 hour security and is within 3-10 minute drive to a number of beautiful beaches.
