About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6

This home is located less than 2 miles to Healdsburg and the Town of Windsor; two charming towns in Northern Sonoma County. Also, just minutes to major wineries including Rodney Strong, J Winery, Kendall Jackson and an abundance of tasting rooms in both towns, you won't have to drive too far.

Stay in a neighborhood right off the 101 highway and around the corner to many roads that lead into different appellations like Chalk Hill, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek and the Russian River which is why it is becoming popular among visitors who come every year. This home is VERY central to ALL of Sonoma Valley including many wedding locations or areas just for exploring. Visit the Russian River, Bodega Bay, the pool at Coppola Winery, museums and plenty of vintage stops. You're in a perfect location to visit all these areas because of its central location. No long dark roads to drive to at night!

Your party will have a pleasant retreat to come back to after a long day drive.

PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR PHONE NUMBER and the reason for your visit. We do have age restrictions but will consider all inquiries. THANK YOU. When using the BOOKING NOW option, the booking will be accepted providing we have the age of primary guest. A copy of the primary renter's drivers license is required with the lease for all reservations.

Response time is typically within the hour if sending an email but I'm available by phone all day except after 9 pm pst. Feel free to contact me directly via phone for your protection. More information can be found on Sonoma Wine Nest website.

About Claudia Castro

Richard and I wanted to have a home in this beautiful part of California to visit as often as we could. There is a lot this place has to offer. One or two trips is not enough to discover this amazing destination. Every trip we have made here is awe-inspiring and our goal is to share this place with as many families, friends and new friends as possible. We are excited to share our experiences and recommendations with you!

Claudia Castro purchased this house in 2014

Why Claudia Castro chose Sonoma County

We researched Napa, Sonoma and Russian River areas for almost 2 years before deciding on the Town of Windsor. Although this town has not been popular with the locals as a vacation destination, it is the best-kept secret because of its central location in Sonoma Valley while also being close to Napa Valley. The towns of Healdsburg, Sebastopol, Guerneville, Occidental, Petaluma, Calistoga, St. Helena, Yountville and many others are all relatively close by. With the Santa Rosa airport just 7 miles from the home, it provides incredible convenience to get to as well.

What makes this house unique

You and your party will either be exploring the area or cozying up to a gas fireplace inside or outside. It’s just the right size and price for up to three couples or a family of four that enables everyone to spend money on world class cuisines, fine wines, memorable attractions, and bucket list tours. It's just the perfect size, in the perfect location, for the perfect price.

Perfect location for quick and easy access to Healdsburg, Russian River, Dry Creek, etc. Relaxing atmosphere with resources and amenities needed to host your small group or family. Would definitely return.

The house was comfortable and clean and the yard was wonderful. We had no idea it was in a subdivision and that would definitely have affected our choice. I gather that's why there is no picture of the front of the house. It was, however, very convenient to Healdsburg. When we arrived, there was no key in the lock box and we had to wait for the caretaker to let us in. We twice had to remove the fire alarm when it went off while we were cooking (nothing that made any smoke -- eggs once, vegetables the second time) and the shades in master bedroom could not be raised (when I asked about that the owner told me she knew about it and would have to fix it when she had time.)

Owner's Response: Hi Bonny - thank you for your review. Our handyman lives around the corner and takes him minutes to arrive for any emergencies but I remember him getting there very quickly. I'm sad to hear that your wait from our handyman to open the door for you did not meet your expectations. I remember he was literally there in minutes. Actually, he was there again within minutes when you locked yourself out of the bathroom which we were ok to pay for too. We had no idea that the guests before you did not replace the key back in the lockbox and was something that occurred beyond our control. Also, I had no idea that the alarm went off. What did you remove? I would have appreciated you informing us. We get a signal from the security alarm company when the smoke alarm goes off and I don't remember getting one when you were there but I'm glad to read this as I need to have that checked. I will put the photo of the front of the home back on the listing. The pitcures depict a fence surronding the backyard and a neighboring home next door. The response has been nothing but positive so I didn't feel it necessary anymore to show the front of the house but there are pictures of the neighborhood with a description written in the listing. The home does have charm and I always receive nothing but praise for the decor and warm feel. However, I can see how it might have been depicted on a vineyard. We offer our home as a great value in comparison to homes in the area of that caliber.

Very comfortable and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed staying at the nest and relaxing in the lovely surroundings. We had 4 nights here with our young adult kids after a trip around the US, including New York, Washington and New Orleans and need some chill time and certainly got that. We drove into San Francisco a couple of times and had a bus tour and the Alcatraz tour. Then spent a couple of days lazily touring the Sonoma valley and we head off today to tour the Russian River Valley and coast before heading back to Australia. Thank you for sharing your home.

Perfect Home For a Friends Wine Trip

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 4 adult friends stayed here during a wine tasting trip in May. The house was great! Super cozy and comfortable…it was perfect. We would stay here again.

-The outdoor area is SO nice. This was our favorite thing about the house. We’d set under the pergola each morning and enjoy our coffee. It was also a nice spot to relax after a long day of wine tasting.

-All the beds were comfortable and the house was super clean

-Claudia was super responsive and seemed eager to help us. This is a big deal. We called to see if we could check-in early. She answered right away and told us we could go on in.

-Grocery store is close by (maybe 5 minutes’ drive).

-Super close to Healdsburg ($11 Uber ride)

-The alarm clock in the master bedroom kept showing the wrong time (even after we reset it). This isn’t a huge deal but it may need to be replaced.
