Enjoy extraordinary views and re-connect with what matters in this secluded, completely remodeled cabin with custom craftsmanship and creatively repurposed materials in every room. The setting is private with nearly 200 acres of unspoiled woods out the back door - yet we're just seven minutes from Healdsburg square with great shopping, a wealth of tasting rooms and restaurants to please every palate. Wine tasting along Russian River's still-small and beautiful wine road is close and convenient.
Climb the steps to a tranquil getaway with exquisite views, and you'll not want to leave. Our most consistent feedback is that this 'tree house' feels like a world away from it all with its own little peaceful gravity well.
This is not a house for partying or for folks who cannot handle stairs.
From April through August, enjoy walkable Russian River access down the street for kayaking, tubing, or lounging on the beach. Year-round, there are hiking trails to choose from just outside the front or back door, as well as biking and paddle-boarding on the river. Within a short drive are some of the area's most beautiful trails and rides.
We have hand-crafted hardwood floors and tile throughout with well-placed windows for a very open feel, that never-the-less maintains total privacy. Enjoy the outdoor patio while taking in the views, napping, reading or sipping wine. Or venture out back to take in 180 degree views from above the trees, BBQ under the open sky, recount the days' events, or just play horseshoes.
For all the charm & craft, you'll find that the layout makes sense. In the master suite is a Cal king bed, 'en suite' full bath and private patio. Upstairs in the guest bedroom are two extra long twins looking out into the forest, with a separate full bathroom on this main level. We also have two more regular twins available on the covered porch, as well as a convertible twin/full sofabed in the entry den. The kitchen opens onto the porch, looks out beyond the trees and is connected with the main living room.
We strive to keep the house tastefully appointed and amply stocked with all that you'll need for a comfortable & relaxing stay - from toiletries & hair dryers to a cook's kitchen, 'smart' TV & WiFi, and plenty of games for the playing.

We loved our stay! Truly a fun location with the views and all the outdoor space. Highly recommend for folks looking for a unique and special place to stay in Healdsburg. We came expecting the mountain drive (and mountain parking) plus the stairs. All of it was well worth it for the benefits of this location!
Beautiful property. We especially appreciated the patio and view. Just the relaxing atmosphere our group of grad school friends needed. Very easy-to-reach responsive host.
Healdsburg Hilltop is a lovely , serene place to be . The hosts have thoughtfully invested themselves in this special home and it is reflected on many levels including physical maintenance , gorgeous, mature plantings and a multitude of amenities. If looking for a place to unplug, Healdsburg Hilltop is highly recommended.
The view was outstanding, and the house was comfortable, beautiful and well appointed. It was perfect for our time in Healdsburg with our grandson. The hosts were very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
Heather was an excellent host. The house is super beautiful and comfortable, the kitchen is very well stocked with anything you might need to cook a meal. Definitely take a peek at all the house materials she sends you - the instructions to get to the house are very useful, and her recommendations for local restaurants and activities are really great! We also loved that the house is so close to a magnificent trailhead!
Lovely hilltop retreat! Enjoyed our stay that was ultra convenient to Healdsburg Town Square. As stated in property description the four flights of stairs from road to the house are not for those with any mobility issues.
This was our 3rd time staying here. We really enjoy the covered deck overlooking the Russian River. The house is well stocked for cooking with most everything you’d need in the kitchen. We will be back!
I don't want to say how awesome this place is for fear that it will be fully booked the next time we want to stay there, but oh well, it is a great cabin in a fabulous location, with amazing views, outfitted with everything you need for cooking in, with great hikes and the Russian River nearby, and a host who provide great insights into nearby activities that we fully took advantage of. Yes you have to climb some stairs but the payoff of spectacular sense of solitude and amazing view is well worth it.
The house was really nice and very well stocked. The location was so peaceful and quiet. The beds were all very comfortable. We would stay again for sure.
Beautiful home in an amazing location. We have stayed numerous times in Healdsburg but this was a first renting a home, I would stay here everytime moving forward!!!
One of the best vacation homes I have rented. Tucked away in the nature on Fitch mountain, while still being close to the town of Healdsburg. We had a wonderful time.
We just loved staying here! There are a lot of stairs, but if you're healthy, it's easy! The views are just beautiful and we really enjoyed sitting on the deck every evening!
We LOVED our stay! The home is so well done, thoughtful craftsman touches, well appointed and comfortable. We very much enjoyed the porch, coffee in the morning watching the day start. Heather's communication prior to arrival was so detailed and appreciated. Proximity to town was also terrific and the neighborhood quiet. Definitely recommend staying here.
This was such a great experience. The outdoor space was one of our favorites and we definitely put it to great use. The beds were very comfortable which my husband who ran the Sonoma Lake 55k very much appreciated.
The house was great. Great sitting area behind house to watch the sun set over the vineyards

About the host
Hosted by Heather
We are a couple from San Francisco who have long loved the Russian River valley and Healdsburg in particular. Sharing this place with others is a pleasure and a privilege for us.
Why they chose this property
It's a well-situated, peaceful getaway with stunning views & incredible craftsman detail. Healdsburg & the Russian River wineries are still intimate & small, yet sophisticated.
What makes this property unique
Best of both worlds :: At the end of the paved road & up in the trees, time slows down & life feels quieter here - but then Healdsburg food, shopping & wineries are 7 minutes away.
