About Hailey Hyce

My family and I have lived in Alaska since 1976. We have made the Kenai Peninsula our home and have loved every minute of it. We feel privileged to have been able to call Alaska our home for all these years. Our own family was raised getting to enjoy March and Douglas Lake and we would hope you and yours can start to do the same.

Hailey Hyce purchased this house in 2013

Why Hailey Hyce chose Kenai Peninsula

Our Lake House was built with our own family and grand babies in mind. We thought of all the necessities and want to make you feel like it is your own while traveling away from home. With lots of places to discover, I can promise this will be one of those places that you'll never want to leave. Your children or grandchildren will remember this place and ask to come back again and again. We sure hope you choose to stay at our Lake House.

What makes this house unique

Lake Front living away from it all with everything we could think of to make your vacation one to remember. And once you've soak up enough sunshine for the day, you can come in and have a night of family fun by having Shuffleboard and Foosball tournaments.

Sincerely, the best vacation we've ever had.

  • 5 of 5

Our family loves to travel. We've been blessed with trips to Jamaica, Hawaii, Brazil, and many places around the U.S., Not to mention we live on the beach in Florida. This trip to the "Lake House" was the best yet and it's not close. We flew into Anchorage for a few days and drove to the Lake House for the majority of our stay. While we were here, we drove to Homer for the day and visited all the little towns and shops around in between. We simply loved the people and they lifestyle they lived- Simple.

As for the Lake House, it could not have been more perfect. When we reached the town on the first day, the owners greeted us and told us about the town and the house. This private home sits perfectly on the lake with a view of the entire area, including the amazing sunrise. The home is also set up to feel as if we already lived there. Beautifully decorated and appointed with little touches of Alaska and everything you need to enjoy your stay.

I would add that the most important thing to me, prior to the trip, was the communication. I personally am thankful for the advice and tips that the owner(s) gave me (well before we came) so we could maximize our stay with the things we wanted to do while we were here. The home is equipped with movies galore, plenty of daily activities and lots or warmth from a family that loves their Lake House.

It is my personal recommendation that you should not look at another place to stay when searching for the perfect Alaskan vacation, as there are many more things that come along with this family and home, than just a place to stay. As our stay was over the Christmas break, we have already started to look at dates for the summer to hopefully return again and see a different side of this incredible place.

Thank you so much for the courtesies that your family extended to ours. We will be back soon.

The Fitz's.

Perfect Fall Fishing Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect and cannot think of anything that could make this rental more enjoyable with all the comforts of home. We travelled with a 6 mo old for the first time and the owners had a pack n play, high chair, and even a baby bath. Anything we had forgotten, it was already at the house for us to use. Enjoyed the peaceful lake and making tallies of moose as we drove to the house. We were able to even catch some salmon and there was a fish cleaning station with chest freezer. We look forward to coming back and already planning our next vacation!

Lovely, secluded property

  • 5 of 5

The Lake House is a lovely retreat tucked away in the Kenai/Nikiski area. The owners' attention to detail is remarkable -- in addition to being beautifully decorated, the property is extremely well equipped, from movies to utensils for roasting hot dogs over the fire pit, from canoes to rain coats. We found the photos to be a good representation of the property, though the kitchen is larger than it appears in the pictures. We very much enjoyed our stay at this scenic retreat.

Awesome family time!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time at this beautiful lake home! Canoeing on the lake was fun. Loved hearing the loons calling. We had 3 days of fly in trips with Alaska West with our awesome guide, Tony, for salmon fishing--they are only located 6 miles away!! Easy drive to Kenai and Soldatna. The amenities at this home are above and beyond: a grill, a full kitchen and a chest freezer for fish. We also enjoyed family time around the fire pit at night.

A comfortable great home and property!

  • 5 of 5

We got to spend over a week here & are leaving tomorrow AM. Everything you'll need to relax and enjoy yourselves is here. Pretend you got to go to a best friend's home and use whatever they have. That's what this family Is choosing to share with all who stay here. This is a well loved home and when you come, you too will be well wrapped in comfort and enjoy your stay. Comfortable beds, great Linens, plenty of movies! COME!!!!! BTW, it rained every day except 1 and we're still raving about our stay. It is far away from "stuffs" so know that before you book. COME. We Got to have our GREAT GRANDKIDS & their parents come and we played on the canoes (with life jackets!) and more. COME!

A Wonderful Find!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful couple days at the Lake House! We were in town for our usual dipnet adventure and had out of state family visiting as well. The cabin was perfect for a family of 5, plenty of beds and sleeping arrangements. It was cozy and clean and very well stocked! They seriously provided everything we could have needed. We booked this cabin because of its proximity to the Kenai river mouth and because they mentioned having a fish processing table and freezer storage space. It was a dream to clean and pack our catch without having to deal with the beach sand (plus we loved being able to keep it nice and cold until it was time to head home). They had Netflix on the TV, which was a wonderful way to relax after a day on the beach. We only regret not finding this earlier!

We noticed handicap accessible things in this house, which would be wonderful if you needed it (first floor bedroom, handrails, walker in the garage). They had lots of fishing gear and canoes/life jackets for use as well. If we'd stayed longer, we would have definitely used them! This cabin was seriously perfect, I can't think of a thing I would want or need (except maybe blackout curtains... The toddler has difficulty sleeping during our wonderfully sunny Alaskan summers). If you're on the fence about trying this place, do it! :)
