About Bill Christian

About the owner: My name is Bill; my wife’s name is Cathy. We have lived in Ashland for the last 30 years, although I've lived here since I was a child. Cathy had moved up from Glendale CA to attend Southern Oregon University to become an RN. She was working part time for the Mt. Ashland Ski Resort when we met. We fell in love, eventually married, and had three beautiful girls. Ashland has been a good place to be raising a family. Together we enjoy hikes, bike rides, swimming, skiing both water and snow, boating, rafting, fishing, and camping and more. We love the four distinct seasons, and the colorful leaves of autumn are just beginning for this season, it soon will be a sight to behold.

Why the Owner Chose Ashland:

I've been owner manager of rental properties since 1981, although this is my first vacation rental. I've been doing this for a few years now and really love sharing it with most wonderful & interesting people I had ever met. I originally purchased this home for my dad who no longer is with us but loved it very much. I also enjoy meeting new people and sharing the great experiences of what this area has to offer.

Bill Christian purchased this cottage in 1992

Why Bill Christian chose Southern Oregon

This has been a wonderful place for us to enjoy outdoor water activities with our family.

What makes this cottage unique

Peaceful, fun, wonderful salmon fishing, beautiful scenery, nature at its best.

Comfortable cabin, amazing river view, lovely to sit & watch wildlife, people and boats go by.

  • 5 of 5

Bill was a wonderful host, very welcoming on arrival and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay - what a river view from the cabin deck! The beds were very comfortable and the place was well equipped. Though our kids were too young to swim in the river section by the cabin, Bill was very helpful in his recommendations, including the family beach area in Gold Hill, only a very short drive away,

Thank you Bill for your hospitality and hope we get to visit again!

GREAT SPOT/GREAT OWNER

  • 5 of 5

We only spent two nights here, but we enjoyed every minute. Bill(owner) met us at the cabin and showed us all the necessities. We even picked fresh strawberries for breakfast. Soaked in the hot tub under the stars. Beautiful spot and very well maintained. Bill will go out of his way to make sure every thing is working.

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place, very peaceful and relaxing. Spent a lot of time just watching the river go by. Comfy bed, and convenient to everything. Bill is a great host, had a anniversary card and flowers waiting for us and offered us his fishing gear too. He checked with us several times during our stay to make sure everything was okay. Bee Gees restaurant in Rogue River is close and a must try. We plan to return.

Gorgeous setting - calm & peaceful~

  • 4 of 5

Didn't spend much time at the cabin; but while we were there, we totally enjoyed the outdoors. The scenery was so quiet and peaceful. The hot tub was a nice treat at the end of the day and the fire pit was enjoyed on a cool evening. Granddaughter's softball tournament kept us away most of the time~
