Stunning oceanfront vacation rental home in Playa Grande,Costa Rica - close toTamarindo. 3 bedrooms and 2 lofts, 3.5 bathrooms, sleeping 11 people and newly renovated.
Villa Siempre is a wonderful oceanfront property. There is nothing between you and the beach; you can step right from the patio onto the stunning white sand of Playa Grande Beach. Playa Grande is a wonderful beach for children and also a well known surf break (with both left and right hand waves on a point beach break).
The Villa has a well equipped kitchen. ou can watch the waves break from the kitchen while you are preparing meals or while enjoying a drink or breakfast at the bar. The home has high ceilings and wonderful natural light. As you relax in the living or dining room you can see the waves breaking just beyond the palm trees. This is one of the few homes along the coast that has unobstructed view of the ocean.
Each of the 3 bedrooms has its own bathroom and air-conditioner. The master bedroom has a king bed and many wonderful wood accents. The two downstairs bedrooms are both multi leveled - one room has a twin and queen upstairs and a queen downstairs, the other has two twins upstairs and a queen downstairs.
Bedroom 1: King
Bedroom 2: Queen
Bedroom 2 loft: Queen & 1 twin
Bedroom 3: Queen
Bedroom 3 loft: 2 twins
As you relax outside on the deck, on the beautiful teak table and chairs or lounges, you can watch the children play on the beach or just watch perfect waves break. At six o'clock every night you can watch the sunset over the ocean and when conditions are just right you may even see the elusive green flash.
This is the ultimate place for a beach vacation, the beach and waves of the famous Playa Grande just outside your door and then the many attractions of Tamarindo and the surrounding towns nearby.
Playa Grande beach is a wonderful place for collecting shells and there is also a wonderful huge rock that you can climb that is surrounded by wonderful rock pools full of shells and marine creatures.
If you are lucky enough to be at the beach between January to March - this is also the sight of the Leatherback Turtles nesting grounds and you can arrange special tours to see them come up onto the beach at night to nest and watch the young nestlings scamper to the water at day break.
Tamarindo, a wonderful bustling tourist town, can be accessed by strolling along the beach and catching a boat across the estuary or by car. The walk is about 45 minutes and then very quick boat ride (only available in daylight hours and costs about $1- $2 each way). Many people swim or walk across the estuary but for me $1 - $2 was worth the dry clothes on the other side. Tamarindo has many wonderful shops and restaurants as well as a beautiful beach.
You can also take a boat ride down the estuary, early morning is the best time, and view the wonderful wild life in the area. We saw all sorts of birds and numerous crocodiles and our driver also found us a huge family of howler monkeys a short walk from the banks. There is another boat ride in Philadelphia about 45 minutes drive from the home on the Palos Verde that is even better for seeing wildlife.
For those of you wanting a beach vacation this is the ultimate location, the house is fantastic, it comes with daily maid service and a cook can also be organized. The Costa Rican people are very friendly and the area is a wonderfully interesting place to visit.
Refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, blender, toaster, washing machine, dryer, kitchen, large dining room table, off street secure parking, outdoor tables with lounges, outdoor shower & sink, CD player, bed & bath linens provided, daily maid service, cook on request

On my husband's 50th birthday he decided to surf for a month in Costa Rica. Through a local friend we rented a home on the beach in Playa Grande and immediately fell in love with the area and the people. Villa Siempre our oceanfront home was a few doors down from where we were staying and it was for sale. Don said 'I have always wanted an oceanfront home'. I restrained myself and did not answer 'Duuhhhhh'. We looked into it and because I was already in the business of renting decided to go ahead and purchase the property. A few months later we found Mireya, she is amazing and takes such good care of the property and us. We visit the property 2 - 3 times a year and then rent it the rest of the year. It really is and amazing spot.
Every time we go down to Villa Siempre we take different people with us so we end up doing a lot of the same things but it doesn't seem to get old. We go zip lining in the rain forest, take boat trips down the river and feed monkeys, ATVing on the beach, go to Guatil to buy pottery and see it be made (so far none has broken on the way home) and then visit great restaurants. Under sufferance I will go shopping but only if it involves a great lunch and some sunset Mai Tais. We never miss going to the local Rodeos which is a real treat.
We were able to walk right out on the beach. The view was amazing! The refrigerator wasn't working properly and that was a bit inconvenient at first but then they got it up and running. All in all it was almost perfect.
If you are looking for an amazing house literally right on the beach then you've come to the right place. House is very modern, has AC, Wi-Fi, TV, and a car port. A home away from home if you will! My favorite part was waking up every morning and sliding that glass door open to see the ocean right there. Honestly one of the best places to watch an epic sunset. 10/10 would definitely go again! Thanks Villa Siempre!
My favorite place to vacation to! I've visited Villa Siempre 3 times. The first trip was with family, second trip was with my closest girlfriends and my most recent trip (October 2016) was with my boyfriend and another couple. Costa Rica is fabulous and this house tops off the whole experience. You are 4 feet from the sand and about 100 feet away from the ocean. WHAT A VIEW, from sunrise to sunset, it doesn't get any better. The house feels like home, comfortable, clean and spacious!! Highly recommended for all types of travelers. We didn't have any issues while on our 10 day vacation. We will be back soon!
We are repeat visitors to this house, which says something in itself! I will not repeat all the positives others have mentioned, just know they are all TRUE! I will say though we have NEVER had any problems or complaints. This time we had read they were going through a drought but it didn't affect us at all, at the house or in the region. We would have never known if we hadn't read about it. We always enjoy this house as it is steps from the sand, the beach is big and beautiful . To wake up, take my delicious Costa Rican coffee and walk on the beach is truly paradise. Then at 6pm every night to see the amazing sunsets is beyond our expectations everytime. Our days are spent on the beach or exploring other parts of the region. Love to go to nearby towns and shop and try new restaraunts in the evening. We always feel safe here and I can't say enough nice things about Mireya, Juan Carlos, and their family. They have always been so helpful and kind to us. They truly want your visit to be good. A GOOD recommendation from me is to read the information and suggestions the home owner gives you before and after you book. It is all good information and takes some of the guess work out of going somewhere you are not familiar with. A nice couple Marcos and Mariana will also help you with anything you need. All you need to do is get there and start relaxing and enjoying! Thanks again Villa Siempre for another wonderful 2 week vacation! See you again soon!
First I would like to state that i have never wrote a review before. I will start with the positives, house is roomy and is steps from the ocean. The house keeper that lives in the back of the house comes in and cleans the house well everyday. So we had some issues during our visit. We were a party of 8, Husband and I with 6 kids ranging from 21 to 9. On day three of being there the water went out, at first i thought this is a few hour thing and it will come back on. No this went on for three days. Usually in the morning we would get a little water to flush our toilets. So for three days we couldn't take showers, brush or teeth, do dishes, used toilets would sit all day. It would rain heavy in the afternoon, so i started to collect water in jugs so we can use it to wash our hair, my husband to a cold shower with the rain water because he was getting a rash for not being able to wash the sand away. Imagine you play in the beach all day sand everywhere and you can't rinse off. I talked to Tahoe moon about whats going on and they seemed less than sympathic. They said there is a drought and Mireya is doing her best to get us a little water in the morning so we could flush our toilets. There were a few other things that were more of an annoyance. The Housekeeper and her Son Juan Carlos live on the property in the back of the house the have two medium size dogs. They would jump on you if you would walk outside (which i'm afraid of dogs in general), they would also bark most nights. Imagine your on vacation trying to listen to the sound of the waves and two dogs are barking all night. Another issue was... first i realize i was staying in costa rica but in the house there were several lizards popping out at you in the shower, hiding in the dirty dishes, , big red ants everywhere, and roaches the size of your big toe. Lastly i would recommend having a rental car, i felt trapped very few places are walking distance. At times i felt that Juan Carlos took advantage of us money wise. He charged us $20 to drive to the store. One day he arranged for his friend to drive us to get pizza for $5 car ride, i ordered 4 pizza's but when we got there they wanted payment for 5 pizzas. They said Juan Carlos ordered one, i payed for the pizza and brought them back. He grabbed the pizza, no thank you or acknowledment that i just paid for his pizza. I couldn't recommend this house.
We were amazed by the ocean view. This was our first tropical Christmas and it was absolutely amazing. We will be coming back to this home year after year!
We are two families from Canada, a group of 10 and spent 9 nights over New Years Eve at this Villa. We booked this home based on the reviews. It certainly lived up to all the great comments. It is spacious, plenty of room for everyone; however the bedrooms are not very private, the kids with you in loft. I won't repeat all the good stuff everyone else has said, so I'll just add to it. Groceries, wine, and beer all readily available at Super Compro in Huacas; you pass right through from the Liberia airport; an easy 1.15 hour drive. We arrived at night, and just got a bit lost right near the end but managed to find it. We enjoyed walking to restaurants for dinner. There's a new restaurant called Shakas, a wood fired pizza place, Kiki's and taco hut on the beach. All were good. We had Mireya cook 2 authentic CR dinners for us. It was DELICIOUS! We paid for the groceries and then gave her about $40 tip. She cooked with her daughter, and they were both very friendly. Mireya doesn't speak any English, but her daughter and son helped. We booked one trip through her son (as previously said in comments) to an adventure place; zip lines, white water tubing, horseback riding, mud baths, hot baths. It was a full day, very enjoyable. We had some trouble communicating to Carlos and I think we both misunderstood. The trip was $800 US. We thought we could pay him when we got home so we didn't have to carry all that cash. But when we arrived by his bus, he wanted the cash. They didn't take Visa. So we figured it out eventually and the day was good, but be very clear with him. After that, we drove our own car to different activities. We went in a boat up the Estuary and saw monkeys, crocodiles and birds. We went hiking near the volcano and swam in 3 different waterfalls. We took a night tour of a secluded beach and saw the big turtles laying eggs, and a nest of baby turtles emerging and running to the ocean. That was the highlight of our trip! All in all, it was a fantastic trip! Just a few words of caution as stated in previous comments; the only rental car company that had any cars was Alamo. We booked a month ahead from Canada and put a deposit. They didn't have our car or my sister's car. We were stuck! So they eventually found a Toyota Rav4 (very old, standard) and in the end it cost us $1800 CA. My sister ended up at Budget with a SUV and spent about $1500 CA. VERY EXPENSIVE! That was really the only bad thing that happened.
