Uncle Tom's Cabin on Pioneer Pointe is a late 1800's hand-hewed logger’s cabin. Located on a super private peninsula, the cabin is nestled among towering, mature Red Pines, with the perimeter outlined in mature Cedars, Birch, Tamarack and array of other Pines.

Cozy, warm and humble, take a step back in time to enjoy the beauty of the world renowned, blue ribbon, Au Sable River.

Settled on 11.3 acres, 700 feet of river frontage surrounds the property on three sides. Multiple, private walking paths through the overall 32 acre property, some leading to a private spring fed pond, nestled in the forest, perfect for ice skating.

Mary's Trail takes you into a private 10 acre section of our Hartwick Pines style forest where only the oldest and largest trees are standing, leaving you awe inspired in their towering beauty.

The cabin is 2,000 square feet with a large wood burning fireplace. 3 bedrooms (one queen bed on main level, two rooms upstairs one with two twin beds and the other with a twin over a full bunk), and one large loft with a bunk bed and a pull-out couch. You can sleep a total of 11 people. We can comfortably accommodate 2 adult couples and up to 7 children. 2 full baths (one up stairs, one on main level) and a Washer and dryer.

1,000+ square feet of riverside deck for outside enjoyment. Bonfire pits.

Fishing amenities are outstanding, located just downstream of the Holy Waters and just above the calm waters of Connors flats. Uncle Tom's Cabin has a private boat/canoe launch on the property for your put-in or take-out convenience.

Beautiful piece of property on a lovely little peninsula with great views of the river

  • 4 of 5

Our family stayed for a week at Uncle Tom's Cabin - we loved the rustic feeling of the place but appreciated the modern comforts. There are little touches that add to its charm - lovely outdoor lights, huge deck with lots of seating, nice fire pit area, a beautiful little dock with seating on the other side of the peninsula. The cabin is fitted with everything you need: towels, extra blankets, fans, coffee pot, cooking utensils, etc. The range/oven combo is like something out of the Jetsons - pretty cool actually. My only negatives were that even though the cabin had air, it struggled to reach the loft and it was hot when we stayed. And the stairs are very, very steep and narrow to the loft where the majority of sleeping arrangements are.

Best River Cabin Ever!

  • 5 of 5

Amazing cabin! Amazing property! And Amazing owners!

The care and thoughtfulness of the owners was evident from start to finish. Exceeded our expectations. You had multiple areas to sit and hear the creek. The cabin was well kept and clean.

This is the perfect place for anyone looking to experience Northern Michigan rivers and woods.

Picturesque Up North Setting

  • 5 of 5

I highly recommend this beautiful cabin for families, groups, and anyone looking to get away from it all for a perfect Up North retreat. A group of us stayed at the cabin for a fishing weekend, and had a fantastic time. The cabin is rustic but well appointed, and it sits on a beautiful stretch of the Au Sable River with ample access to great fishing. The owner is extremely welcoming, communicates well, and was able to quickly address the few issues we had upon arrival. Our group has been coming to Michigan for this fishing trip for a very long time, and we were all very impressed with the cabin, the setting, and the owner’s tremendous hospitality. We would definitely return in the future.
