Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

You will find The Eagle's Nest in Bowser, B.C. nestled among majestic fir and cedar trees.  This fully equipped, two bedroom cottage offers a peaceful retreat from city life.  The  vaulted  ceilings, hardwood flooring and wood stove provide comfort and reflect the natural surroundings of the area.  The basement of the cottage allows you to conveniently store your supplies indoors and also serves as a play area for children on rainy days.

Enjoy a panoramic ocean view of Denman, Hornby and Chrome Islands from the deck or bring your beach shoes and spend your days strolling and exploring the natural rocky beach.  There is a large sandy play area for the children and evening fires can be enjoyed in the two fire pits. Wildlife abounds here, so visits from deer and sightings of eagles are to be anticipated.

Eagle's Nest is the perfect place to use as a home base to explore this section of Vancouver Island.  A half hour drive will take you to Parksville, Qualicum Beach, Coombs, Horne Lake Caves, Courtenay and other attractions.  Numerous walking trails are found everywhere.  Golfers can enjoy the many first class golf courses in the area and Mt. Washington, which is an hour away, offers skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking and hiking trails.  For an all day outing, Long Beach is an amazing destination.  If boating is your passion, there is easy access to a boat launch in Deep Bay.

Within walking distance of the cottage, you can find a variety of shops (grocery, liquor, coffee shop, hardware etc.) to replenish your supplies. Many Artisans live in the area, providing visitors with unique shopping opportunities.  Also, the world renowned spas at the Kingfisher Inn and Tigh Na Mara are short drives away and definitely worth visiting.

Eagle's Nest is an easy and worthwhile destination.  Whether it's R&R you're looking for or a more active holiday, the privacy and peacefulness provided by this cottage will restore you.

Fresh air - no humidity

  • 5 of 5

Priceless! Sunrise, Gooey Ducks, Deer, Cottage - spacious, clean - everything is labelled -very organized - yet comfy. This property can allow the night hawk to watch TV and the morning person to percolate coffee, turn on lights, sit on the deck and relax and watch the sun rise over the water. Seacroft 18 can allow complete rejuvenating of mind, body and soul. We have been given a gift of peace - and will always treasure this property as a vision of mind over matter.

The Perfect Getaway

  • 4 of 5

Views from the deck and upper windows, access to the beach for morning and evening strolls, and the piece and quiet needed for an enjoyable restful stay. The kids will have a ball playing on the shore or in the yard. Evening campfires by the ocean to roast hot dogs and marshmellows for great family fun. This unit easily sleeps six and has space beside for a tent.

The perfect base camp from which to relax or explore the Island

  • 5 of 5

Loved it!

My boyfriend and I are visiting the Island from Caesarea, Ontario. We spent one month at a different cozy cottage and, while it was lovely--it didn't have this view! I also love the wood ceilings, skylights, access to the ocean and all the comforts of this place, like fresh towels and comfy sheets. This place has it all.

We went to Horne Lake Caves, Tofino (Ucluelet), Port Renfrew (Botanical Beach), Port Hardy (historic plane crash) and my boyfriend got his Scuba Diving license! Another place that shouldn't be missed is the Deep Bay Marine Field Station.

Thank you Len and Georgene for your excellent accommodations and friendly communications!

Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

This is our second visit to Seacroft #18! Again, it was a fabuolus trip...from the breath taking morning view to the calming sounds of the ocean. The cabin itself was fully equiped with all of the comforts of home while allowing the feeling of being away from home. A short walk to the beach to enjoy the water, hours of exploring as well as the sand area for playing various games and to have a fire. Short drives to various other beaches (Horne & Spider Lake), Coombs, Courtney, and Qualicum.

The owners were very accomodating for the dates that we requested and they also made sure there were a variety of games and movies for our kids.

We will definately try and make another trip back this year before the summer is over! We would highly recommend a stay at the Seacroft #18.

Loved our Stay!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second year of staying at the Eagle's Nest cottage. Each time, we have really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is so comfortable and makes us feel at home. It is so well equipped with kitchen supplies, towels, sheets - everything we need to just move in and start relaxing. We never tire of the view, regardless of the weather, and the peace and quiet is wonderful. We hope to return - thanks for a great month!

The title perfectly describes this property. It is truly paradise.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It is beautifully set in the forest with a picturesque view of Denman Island. We enjoyed watching the waves crash and having our morning coffee out on the deck. We used the cabin as a home base to visit other places on the island- we enjoyed seeing visiting Coombs, Courtenay and also had a relaxing day at the famous Kingfisher Spa. The cabin has a very cozy and homey feeling to it and has everything that you would need during your stay. My husband was able to go out in his kayak directly in front of the cabin. We look forward to coming back this summer for a longer stay.
