Great place Great location.

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful month in beautiful Key West!! The property was clean, well decorated and absolutely perfect for the month. The pool was clean and warm. Great to cool off or sit by for coffee in the morning or cocktails in the PM. Walkable everywhere. Am returning in 2018.

Great getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Hidden Treasure is in a good location - not too far from Duval Street where many of the restaurants, shops, and bars are. But not so close that you hear any noise. There's a 24hr CVS 2 blocks away and a park with tennis and basketball courts within walking distance.

The condo is tastefully decorated, comfortable, and quiet. Plenty of closet space with lots of hangers and towels. Even several 'little' things like an exhaust fan in the bathroom, ceiling fans in the other rooms, and a big grill out by the pool!

The kitchen has plenty of dishes and utensils - even a blender, mixer, can opener, etc. The AC is good, TV is big (with good reception and 100+ channels), wireless internet was fast, and everything was clean and worked properly. Very nice experience!

Hidden Treasure-we'll be back!

  • 5 of 5

On June 1 we arrived after a trying travel day from Atlanta (flight diverted to Miami and a 3.5 hour bus ride to the Key West airport). We arrived late that evening. The cab ride is maybe 10 minutes and is a flat rate of $9.00 per person both going to and from the airport. But, when we arrived at Hidden Treasure--Wow! The space itself far exceeded our expectations. The hardwood floors are absolutely beautiful. The living room was spacious and offered all we could ask for to relax each day. The kitchen was everything we needed and the bedrooms were wonderful (it's hard to beat the ceiling fan after a day of walking the island). Plenty of closet and drawer space throughout the property--it never felt like we were living the month out of our suitcase. We have never traveled to Key West before--but this place is how we imagined an updated version of true historic Key West to be. Having a private pool was quite a treat--as well as the outside grill. The washer and dryer is such a lifesaver--next time we are packing half the clothes!

Key West can be such a blast, party-wise. However, Hidden Treasure really made for a nice, quiet oasis for us at the end of each day. While staying at the property, we never once considered taking a taxi or wished we had a rental car or bike. It is such an easy walk to get anywhere--from Duval Street to the public beaches to the Key West Garden Club--everything is an easy stroll. Don't pay for a rental car. The CVS is open 24 hours a day for anything you need during your stay and it is only two blocks away. Also, the best restaurant on Key West, Duffy's Steak and Lobster House, is located just two blocks away as well. Make a visit there--you'll agree its location, food and service make staying at Hidden Treasure your own little "hidden secret."

The wireless internet worked flawlessly. We know you are not supposed to stay on your phone during vacation, but come on, this is the 21st century. The HDTV worked great.

Truly, this is the one vacation where we walked and walked and walked and still felt better-rested than when we arrived. How can you beat that for a vacation! Hidden Treasure, we'll see you again soon!

Key West Extended Vacation

  • 4 of 5

This is a very adequate space that we enjoyed as our base for exploring fun Key West. The Hidden Treasure house was missing items that would make it the perfect spot for a one to three months visit. The location was great, walking distance to all the local sights. The pool was not in the best shape; the heater was not working, water temps were in the 60's so you really were not enticed to use the pool. There was no pool furniture to enjoy the outside area. The outside grill was dirty and in need of a good cleaning before we were able to use it. We discovered many deferred maintenance items in the unit that we shared with property management; the outside kitchen sink was totally disconnected and the water ran directly into the base cabinet, the door handle on french doors in living room was broken, shower head in second bathroom had no hot water, the ceiling fan light in living room was not working properly, 60 watt bulbs were in lights that should have had 3-way bulbs (we replaced these items ourselves so we had adequate lighting in an otherwise dark space), one bulb in the refrigerator was missing, the living room really does not have comfortable seating for four adults, the dining table has no lighting and is located in a dark area, and the bedrooms each could use an additional night stand with lighting so it is comfortable to read in bed. Most of the maintenance items were addressed and repaired but the shower took two and one half weeks to repair. I would suggest that mattress pads and light weight cotton blankets be placed on both beds for a more comfortable sleeping arrangement. The second bathroom (outside) needs additional non slip floor coverings on the tile floor and would benefit from a barrier to outside viewing. The space is dangerous once the shower has been used. The kitchen could use a new tea kettle, the one in the unit was rusted on the inside. The can opener was not operating properly. There was no large carving knife or dish towels. Lack of parking was not an issue, as street space is easy to find. We enjoyed the location of the property, an easy walked or bike ride to all the local sights and the beautiful sunsets. The wireless internet was fast and dependable.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review our home. This is a relatively recent vacation rental and the owners are committed to making it an exceptional home that guests will want to return to again and again. The grill has been cleaned. The outdoor sink and ceiling fan light are repaired. The door handle and outdoor shower did take a little while to repair as the parts had to be ordered and took some time to arrive - they have been repaired. The kitchen supplies are being purchased and non-slip strips will be laid on the outdoor shower floor. When the owners are here in June 2016 they will be addressing the issues of nightstands and lighting. We look forward to your return visit.

True Key West Experience!!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived on 3/26/15 in the midst of sunshine and tropical weather. After a short 10 minute cab ride from the airport, we arrived at this "Hidden Treasure". Exactly as described, this is true historic Key West. Upon opening the door to this oasis, we were immediately taken aback by the beautiful hard wood floors, which then opened up to 2 comfortable bedrooms, 2 baths, and then…… the private pool. Having access to a private pool while in tropical paradise is a must, as it is “warm”, and after a day of leisurely walking the island, there is no better way to relax than in the pool with a cool libation!

Hidden Treasure allows for ease of transit around the island. No rental car needed or advised. Parking, as on any tropical island, is a premium and with its ideal central location, everything is within walking distance or if you prefer rent a bicycle or moped! Saying this, it could not be more convenient, as less than one block on Truman (US1) you’ll find both rental locations!

Not that it is advisable while on holiday, the wireless internet worked flawlessly and amazingly fast. While you are away, if you would prefer to cook at home, the kitchen provides everything needed for dining in. Though if you are on an extended holiday and prefer to avoid the kitchen clean up; again you will find yourself within easy walking distance of some of the islands best dining locations.

Lastly, there is nothing better on Key West than enjoying a tropical sunset with your guest(s) on or around Mallory Square, again a short direct walk (20 minutes) down the ever famous Duval Street.

Enjoy and forget the mainland…we’ll be back for sure!
