UPDATE: This unit features a queen plus size comfort sleeper living room sofa bed. This luxurious sleeper sofa has solid platforms that provide even support with no bars, no springs, and no sagging and features a full 80" length of sleeping surface. Our sleeper sofa is more comfortable, longer, and 6" wider than the standard Honua Kai sofa bed. So now all our guests, regardless of where they sleep, can rest comfortably.
UPDATE Apr 2018: This unit now features Fiber 300 fast internet at up to 300MB speed. Up to 10x faster than previous and most other Honua Kai units.
ABOUT THIS UNIT. Located on the GROUND floor in the interior courtyard of the Konea tower at Honua Kai Resort & Spa is this two (2) bedroom, two (2) bathroom luxury condo. This unit is one of only a handful of ground floor units at Honua Kai with a partial ocean view and is located very close to the pools and beach. Just walk out of the lanai to enjoy! (please see our room layout photo for the location of our condo).
Our condo, Honua Kai Unit # Konea 103 is a super clean, large 1315 square foot (plus 700 sq ft Lanai/Garden) GROUND FLOOR hotel condominium. Honua Kai condo's and the resort offers many wonderful modern amenities. And just when you could not ask for more, many extra personal touches from a proud owner are visible in the condo such as iHome alarm clocks, upgraded tv in living, Amazon Echo with Spotify music, keyed lanai, vitamix blender, bathroom dryer rack, bathroom stools, and many other owner supplied goodies for your use such as beach chairs, a beach umbrella, an ice chest, boogie boards, beach towels, a pack n play with a 3" thick mattress, bed bumpers, strap on booster seat, etc.
The family friendly Ground Floor units include many bonuses not offered on any of the floors above. Extra tall 11' ceilings, oversized lanai's, and very quick and easy access in and out (from the Lanai or condo door) ... no elevators needed. The lanai opens up to the a lush garden area, pathways down to the pools, and views of the resort and ocean.
With a king Bed with luxurious linens in both the master and second bedroom and a Queen plus comfort sofa sleeper in living, the condo is a perfectly comfortable fit for up to 6 adults. Each bedroom and living have their own HD flat screen TV's and cable. In addition, the living room features a wall mounted 65" 4k smart TV and a Blu-Ray DVD player. Wireless AC Fast Internet is also included free of charge.

Swimming and Snorkeling. Walk to whalers village, etc. Or head the opposite direction (North) to visit Honokowai Beach Park (great for the little ones), the farmers market, and local organic food store.

Known Construction / Maintenance Disclaimer: Luana Known Construction / Maintenance Disclaimer: Luana Development Parters LP is building 72 townhouses in the area. The work is in the empty grass field on the east side of Honua Kai (non-ocean side) beyond the path that circles the bowl between the two towers. These are 2 story homes. A fence was constructed to limit dust and views of the work. Allowed work time is from 9am – 5pm M-Sat with light work expected between 8-9 AM and 5-6 PM. This unit, Konea 103, does not face the construction but rather faces the interior courtyard of the Konea tower and the ocean. It is considered an un-impacted unit.

About Brandon Mullenberg
I grew up and we currently live in Seattle, WA. My wife grew up in the Czech Republic. We have 3 little ones. A handsome 7 year old boy, a beautiful 6 year old girl, and our youngest boy is 3 years old. Our favorite getaway spot is Maui and Honua Kai.

We love Maui and after staying at Honua Kai Resort for the first time in 2009, we fell in love with this place. It was perfect for us. We have always struggled to find a nice condo with all the amenities we were looking for. Honua Kai Resort was the answer for us and that was what initially brought me to purchase my first condo at Honua Kai. Since then I have purchased 5 more ground floor units and now have 6. In my opinion ground floor units are the most convenient and the absolute best. They have quick and easy access to the outside, the pool, and everything else. We just love this place.

Beautiful and luxurious place
The property was perfect and lots of things for the family to do. We were a family of 21 and rented 3 properties from Brandon. All the kids had a great time and the adults all got to relax and enjoy our vacation. It was great that we all had our own rooms to go back to at the end of the day. The place was spacious! We would defiantly come back.
Better than expected!
We had pretty high hopes for this unit when booking for our family vacation with myself, my husband and our 2.5 and 4.5 year old daughters. We are pleased to say that this booking exceeded our expectations for sure! The unit was exactly what we were looking for. A spacious rental, centrally location to pools, beach and food, but far enough off the beaten path for privacy. The unit seemed larger than I anticipated (I think because of the high ceilings) and was equipped with everything we needed from kids supplies, to beach toys to kitchen utensils. The owner (Brandon) and on-site contact (Monty) were attentive to any questions we had and made our stay stress-free! With 2 small children, having the ground floor unit with spacious lanai (and partial view of the ocean), we felt less "trapped" than we may have in an upper floor unit. We plan to re-visit Maui in the future and after staying at other hotels in the area, we've decided that it doesn't get any better than this unit. It's a hidden gem for sure!
Great access from the lanai to the pools. Loved this ground floor condo for convenience!!! Kitchen was stocked very well and condo itself was very clean and spacious for our family of 5. I thought we might be concerned with resort noise being on the ground floor,...nope. You can’t hear a peep when your lanai doors are closed.
Pull out couch for the kids was very comfortable and easy to put away each morning. Everything you need for the beach was provided,.....boogie boards, beach chairs,..cooler,..umbrella.
Monty is very informative,...and responded quickly to texts with the couple things we needed. Very friendly:)) The Honua Kai staff and concierge were super helpful and pleasant!!
Dukes restaurant on site is very good and it was really nice having the gift/convenience store in our building. So awesome!!

This was our second stay in this unit. It is perfectly located, steps from the pool, & has a little lanai that feels private. It works beautifully for two couples, and was fine for our family of 6 this past (second) trip. The sofa bed was comfortable, there are two entrances into one of the two bathrooms, & there was ample room for everyone. The unit was very well equipped and maintained.
Konea 103 was fabulous! Honua Kai is one of our favorite Resorts, and we have had the opportunity to go several times. This was our first year renting a ground floor apartment, and with two small kids, it was the best decision! The condo is so close to pools, and still has a lovely ocean view. The kids were able to run around in the grass, and if we forgot something, it was a quick walk back, without having to go through the hotel and up the elevator. Brandon has the condo stocked with everything you need, and is so great to work with. He responds quickly to emails, and his onsite manager, Monty, is a great on property contact. We can't wait to go back!!
