Nestled in the middle of 20 forested acres in Mariposa county, Shanks’ Lodge is private, quite and secluded. A rustic feel awaits you as you enter this 3600 square foot 3 bedroom home. An added sleeping loft allows this house to easily accommodate as many as 14 people. For your enjoyment, the house has both a private pool and an 8 person hot tub!
In the Great Room, you’ll find a large wrap-around couch where you can enjoy the look and warmth of the wood stove. The well-equipped kitchen has all the amenities to prepare even the most elaborate meals. After a long day of fun-filled activities, drift into dreamland in one of the beautifully constructed hand-made log beds. Four bathrooms, all with showers and tubs give even large groups enough privacy and convenience. The large outside deck, with a barbecue grill, tables and chairs, overlooks the private pond and front acreage. Hike throughout the property and appreciate the enchanting ‘old growth' oak trees, giant sequoias and ponderosa pines. During the summer months, take a dip in the fenced-in pool with a picture perfect waterfall. Unwind in the 8 person jetted hot tub all year long. For more entertainment, there is a basketball court, a horseshoe pit and a 60-inch flat screen HDTV with Apple TV, all the premium channels and a great music system.
The guests will have access to the entire house and 20 acres of property. This includes the laundry room, solar heated pool, horseshoe pit, children's playhouse, fire pit, gas barbecue grill, horse corrals (you are welcome to bring your horses), hiking trails and private pond. High speed Wifi so you can stay connected to the outside world if you want. Otherwise, turn off those devices and listen to sound of the wind in the trees.
You will be greeted at the lodge by your host at check-in and shown around the property. At that time, we will be happy to recommend local activities and attractions. We will leave you with our contact information in case you have any questions or concerns. Otherwise, you may enjoy the house to yourselves the rest of the time!
