My husband and I stayed here on the first leg
of our Italy and Greece honeymoon. The location was perfect for us to see all of Rome’s attractions and some locals spots too. Monti, where the apartment is located, is a fun and vibrant area where we often kept coming back to. Lots of fun bars, restaurants, coffee shops and more to choose from. The apartment worked well and was supplied with the basics. For being in a busy area, it was very quiet at night too. Meeting for check in was a little tricky with no personal WiFi, but we found it and it was helpful to learn about keys, local recommendations, etc. Definitely recommend to all!
Great location in a great, quiet neighborhood. The front door to the building is only steps (maybe 10) from the entrance to the Cavour Metro Station, close to bus routes, and about 1/2 mi from the Coliseum. There are good restaurants, markets, ATMS,, and even a gelato place all within about 100 yd. The bedroom was small but adequate and the bed and convertible couch were comfortable. There was plenty enough closet space and places to hang clothes. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, pots and pans, microwave, refrigerator, etc. Everything you would need. The only problem I have with the ad is that it said there was a clothes washer available. Unfortunately this was not true, but there is a self-service laundry just down the street. One caution: it is on the third floor so be prepared to lug your 50 pound bags up 64 (yes, I counted) stairs. Our contact for the place, Irina, was very helpful and quick to answer our questions. All in all, I would definitely stay here again.
This apartment does not have a lot of reviews so I will write the pros and cons we experienced. Note that the cons were not issues for us but just information for future travelers.
First, we found the location to be spectacular! A metro across the street, walkable to the termini station, a full service grocery store a block away, lots of restaurant choices within a block, colosseum just a few blocks away.
The apartment is quiet and the bed very comfortable. Although it was October, we needed to use the AC and were very comfortable. We were able to check in early which was nice to go out and explore without our bags.
There are 60+ stairs to reach the 4th floor apartment and no elevator/lift. If you have large bags, or are not fit, could be an issue. Also, if you are plus sized, the shower and bathroom might be uncomfortable as it is on the small size. The apartment is functional but not charming or cozy. The windows open into an atrium like shaft with no view or sunlight. There was some grit/sand on the floor but no vacuum and a bit of mold around the shower doors. Again, did not bother us as it wasn’t a big deal.
We were happy to stay here and it worked well for our 4 days in Roma.
Whilst the property has a fantastic location close to amenities such as Metro, restaurants, cafes and historic sites when we arrived the building it was located in was undergoing significant renovations (the notice downstairs dated March 2024 indicated that those renovations were valued at 900,000 euros). We had to climb up stairs through choking dust and walk over rubble to get to the apartment. I can’t blame the construction workers, after all they were just doing their job - which they started at 6.30am and went through until 7.00pm using power tools and jack hammers - I do however blame the owners / managers of the property. I booked the apartment in July 2024 and they must have known the building works were happening yet it was not mentioned on the property page they also had ample time to contact me prior to my arrival but they did not. After my arrival I contacted the owner of the property and did not got a reply so I then contacted STAYZ / VRBO directly - 2 days later they offered to refund some of my payment.
It’s a great shame - it’s a nice adequate apartment in a great location but unfortunately I can’t recommend it.
If you do decide to stay then I strongly suggest that you contact the owner and see if the works have been completed. Otherwise be prepared for noise and dust.
