Literally in the mountains on the edge of Albuquerque, this cozy fully furnished 1 bedroom is an attached apartment with its own private garage and patio. Sandia Mountain hiking trails start right out the back door, while still being within 20 minutes of downtown Albuquerque. Our nearest neighbors are 500 feet away and all around us are stunning vistas of the city and incredible views of the mountains. If you love being in the wilderness, this is the most secluded place you will find on the west side of the mountain. And for our summer guests, escape the heat in the higher altitude. Please note: For our winter guests, from December 15 through February 28 I require 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicles to be a guest. Exceptions will be made in warmer winter weather.

About Owner / Property Manager
My wife Olivia and I, plus our sons Bodhi and Arlo are happy to be hosts to people from around the world. I am currently a general contractor and my wife is a sign language interpreter. I grew up near Chicago and moved to Albuquerque in 2003 where I performed in a theater group for 12 years until recently starting my contracting business. Olivia moved to Albuquerque in 2003 as well and after attending UNM began here career as an interpreter. We met at a coffee shop where we were both working and were married 7 years later.
Owner / Property Manager purchased this Apartment in 2014

Great getaway location!
Beautiful location with Mountain View’s by day and just up the road amazing city lights views at night. We hiked the Piedra Lisa trail which was perfect for our 11 & 13 year olds and just up the road. Home was comfortable and just the right space for our family of 4. We all enjoyed the homey feel with having the dog and the cat around each day! Will definitely be back!!!
Home overlooking Albuquerque!
Perfect accommodations for my husband, myself and two grandchildren! Very comfortable and our host (never got to meet his wife because of our hectic schedule) made the stay enjoyable. House was a little tricky to find at first but Bryan helped us out. Look for multi-colored "flags" on the automatic gate!
If you want to get away from urban congestion, this is your place!!
I can’t think of one negative thing to post here. The host, Bryan, is wonderful and accommodating. We stayed in the lower level of their home and it was as if it was our own place. Great kitchen, bath w washer/dryer, really comfy bed, your own patio w mountain view. Location is really close to Sandia tramway and Balloon Fiesta grounds. Less than an hour to Santa Fe. Great hiking trails minutes from the house. If you’re coming to Alb to enjoy the great outdoors, THIS is the place you should book. We’ve already given friends this VRBO # so that they can book later in the year. If my wife and I ever return to Alb, we’d absolutely stay here again.
Incredible Place to Stay
The mountain views are incredible as are the hosts. Felt right at home and had a wonderful stay. Bryan answered all my questions as was very responsive if we had any issues. Very pet friendly place to stay.
Great place but hard to get to.
Beautiful location and hikes outside our door. Dirt road up to house is tiring after a long day. Bryan was very accommodating and even turned off the coffee pot after we had left one morning and remembered it hadn't been turned off. The freezer needs ice trays and you are asked to do laundry during the day because they are off the grid. Otherwise I would have given it five stars!
