Otherwise, guests usually like to enjoy an undisturbed time.
The camp abounds in natural beauty. We are always struck anew with the beauty of the sun rising and setting over the lake, the sounds of evening loons calling, passing families of swimming ducks and ducklings, the shifting patterns of the leaves and their colors, and the constant gentle sounds and scents of the surrounding wood.
The camp is only accessible via car from the camp road and then via the short (approximately 400 feet long) well lit foot path from the nearby private parking area.
I've been spending summers on this property since it was originally purchased by my Mother and stepfather when I was a young teenager. After my mother passed away, I bought the property from my step father.
I bought this property from my step father because throughout my life I have found it to be a place of exceptional peace and beauty and also because each time that I leave the city to stay on the property I wonder afresh at its wondrous revivifying qualities.
I love the combination the property offers of immersion in nature and healthy exercise as well as providing a personal retreat with easy access to the many cultural activities offered in the nearby college town of Farmington.
My stay at this camp was wonderful!..It exceeded my expectations for privacy and beautiful surroundings...a wonderful place to commune with nature; fell asleep to the call of the loons.. Kayaking on lake, reading, walking with dog, and enjoying the fall colors filled my days.Camp was cozy and well stocked..had everything I needed...Owner was very helpful and had a fire burning in the wood stove to welcome me the first night, as I arrived later than expected..I will be sure to return!
A magical walk to a wonderful spot into the woods with all the amenities you could want! WOULD honeymoon again! Better than any stinking motel you could get. Do you know any hotels that have an entire lake right out side of your room? Property was freshly cleaned, good restaurants within a short drive, customer service was great from the owner and if we won the lotto we would make the owner an offer he couldn't refuse for the place. BUT its so great he probably would. GO there, or stay home!
I love this place. This is my second year coming with my husband, it's perfect, quaint and everything we really need to a peaceful, nature filled long weekend. If I could I would keep this place to myself and come every single weekend, what a perfect place to unwind. I wouldn't recommend sleeping 8; however I do believe it's perfect for a family of 4 or two couples to enjoy. We will be back again next year!
It was a nice little weekend away from home and the owner was available and willing to help if we had questions about the camp.
What a beautiful little cabin. We enjoyed every minute of our complete solitude in this quiet Maine cabin. The cabin has every thing you need and is perfectly suited for people who are trying to get away from it all. We played on the rope swing, looked at the stars at night, and watched the birds on the water in the morning. What a place! We will be back!
This place was the perfect location to unplug and get away from the noise and stress of the city. Just the right amount of convenience balanced with the expected rusticism of a lake house. I will definitely be back.
