Peaceful relaxing stay

Barbara was a wonderful, caring, responsive host! She had yummy treats waiting for us on arrival. Her place was really enjoyed by our whole family. It is a beautiful setting! We especially enjoyed the outside area of the property with the outdoor fireplace and hot tub and pool. My 14 year old grandson wanted to move to this house!

One of the most beautiful places we’ve stayed in 25 trips to Italy. Property manager, Barbara, was efficient and communicated thoroughly from booking to our departure. She was awesome. Every conceivable amenity was provided and available. We’ll be back.

Great host and cleanliness

No complaints from my family and I. The house is beautiful and has a great town view from the mountain. I really enjoyed driving the roads leading up to the home. A true Italian adventure. We also enjoyed making paste with Bararabra and her mother. We enjoyed listening to music and making the meal of a 4 hour period. We intend to return

There are not enough superlatives to describe this place. Views, pool, hot tub, beautiful home with all kinds of space to spreadout. Barbara's homeis something else and the description and or pictures don't do it justice. If you are afraid of heights, better close you eyes on the way up. We will be back if at all possible

Perfection Promised

This beautiful villa is even prettier than pictured, the perfect place to relax by the pool, appreciate the peace and quiet of the Italian mountains, and use as a base camp for exploring Umbria. We loved the cool breezes at night, the panoramic views, and the amazing outdoor dining area. While we were entranced by trips to Collopino, Spello, and Assisi - I wish we had even more time in the villa. By far the best cooking class I’ve ever had - thanks to owner Barbara, her mother Marcella, and son Giacomo ( who is an ancient history buff who provides lots of tips). Do not miss this chance to make tagliatelle with tartuffo and enjoy them under the trees. We were all so very sorry to leave the villa - wonderful memories of a wonderful place!

Would give 10 stars if I could!

This property is absolutely beautiful and even better than the pictures! Barbara was the most welcoming and gracious host you could ask for... She made us feel as if we were practically family. The town of Spello is a darling hill town with lots of character, but not as busy as Assisi. It is about three miles down the hill from Villa Subasio Relax. We didn't have a car, but enjoyed the walk to and from town, but then, we love to hike! The location is best suited for those with a car. We were a family group of nine, with three generations, and the accommodations were spacious with plenty of outdoor space including the pool and a picnic area. We can't recommend Villa Subasio Relax enough! Given the opportunity, we would definitely return!

Amongst the Stars

Our stay at SubasioRelax was excellent. The views were picturesque. We would have enjoyed a little warmer weather to take advantage of the pool. That's about the only disappointment we could mention. The house is beautiful and well appointed, views are spectacular. Barbara was really responsive with communication, flexible and helped to make our stay exactly what we wanted by helping me find a local chef to prepare dinner one night which was terrific, taxi services for our large group etc.. I should have done a little more research about routes to use to reach the location as it was a little tricky with a large van. Once I stopped using Waze which took us on the local, small side roads, all was well. It is actually very easy to access from the old city of Spello which was the focus of our stay at this point and where more of our group stayed. We visited Assisi and local wineries. All was great. I use VRBO frequently and all over The US and Europe. I highly recommend SubasioRelax and would defitnitely stay here again.

Beautiful home in the mountains!

This home is beautiful and have plenty of room for 8 people (3 couples and 2 children). The home was further from the town of Spello than we had expected (about 8-10min drive down a winding hill) but was nice have a break from the noise and hustle and bustle of staying in larger cities/towns. It is very peaceful with a beautiful outdoor space. Be sure to bring bug spray- there are definitely mosquitoes in the mountains! The pool was beautiful- although a bit on the chilly side even in mid June. Barbara takes pride in her home and is very welcoming! We arrived on Fathers Day (in the U.S.) and Barbara agreed to do a pasta cooking class to celebrate! With the help of her mother who led us through making pasta, and her son who spoke English quite well! They were fun to have around and helped us prepare a delicious meal which included appetizers, pasta, and dessert all paired with delicious wine! Barbara is very responsive- beginning with before I even booked- she answered all my questions. While we were there she was very responsive to any questions we had! Would. Definitely recommend this property to those looking for a quiet and relaxing get away!

Beautiful home and great location!

I brought my parents to Itay for their first trip to Europe along with me, my husband, and my children. We stayed in Spello and took a day trip to Assisi. It was very close. Barbara and her family were terrific hosts. They offered a lot of information. Barbara left the family a basket of treats for our stay. The home is cozy and has beautiful details. It is VERY clean and organized. Our family had everything we needed and more. My son locked our car in the carport and Barabra's family rescued us on the last day! I give this home 5+ stars and wish we had more time at this house. The location is absolutely stunning! The beauty of the olive trees surrounding the home and the view were really peaceful and wonderful.

Excellent host and property

This property is fantastic! It had everything me and my friends wanted, it’s peaceful & quiet & felt like home from home. It’s about a 45 minute walk into to Spello but it is a lovely walk if your into that sort of thing otherwise if you have a car it’s easier. Barbara is an excellent host, very friendly and attentive, couldn’t have asked for anything more from her. Top place to stay, would definitely recommend and would definitely come back!

Casa stupenda situata sulla strada che porta sul monte subasio immersa nel bosco. Dotata di tutti i comfort e di una piscina spettacolare con zona esterna attrezzata benissimo. Amazing stay!

Barbara and her family were so welcoming and lovely. The home was just as advertised and even more. It was everything we needed. And the extra touches by Barbara bringing us fresh baked pies and cookies and a lovely welcome basket were so thoughtful! We would definitely stay here over and over. The views are outstanding and the home has everything you need. Thank you Barbara for making sure we had such a pleasant stay.

Hospitable hostess

The house stands high above Spello and the surrounding countryside it has immaculate views and a lovely pool The house offers everything you need in sleeping arrangements and cooking facilities You definitely need a car and I think booking.com needs to explain it is not a easy drive up the mountain but once conquered it is worth it We met Barbara and her son and both were terrific hosts you couldn’t find any nicer people to deal with if we venture back to Umbria we would certainly stay again

We had a fantastic 2 weeks and would highly recommend without hesitation.

We were driving from the UK over two days and were met by Barbara and her husband on arrival who were simply lovely. Barbara had even made us the most delicious cake as well as providing lots of basic fridge and larder stock which we didn’t expect but was really helpful as it was late to try and find shops. We had everything we needed in the villa and plenty of leaflets to help us decide what to do during our 2 week stay but would definitely say a car is essential as quite high up above the beautiful picturesque town of Spello for amenities. We decided to get the train to Rome for a day out and asked Barbara some advice and she went above and beyond for us which was very much appreciated. She called ahead and arranged in Italian for all that we were trying to fit into the day so that when we arrived we met Mrs Valentino in the terminal and it was seamless. As we had to leave early morning on our last day, Barbara came to say goodbye the evening before and again came bearing a gift of dessert wine and freshly home made biscotti beautifully wrapped. She has been the best host we have ever had and would not hesitate in recommending this property.

Location très propre, confortable et très bien équipée! Encore merci pour le panier de provisions et les boissons fraîches à notre arrivée. Barbara est très disponible et dévouée et répond rapidement à toutes nos questions. Le cours de cuisine avec Barbara et sa famille était exceptionnel de même que la dégustation et les échanges qui s’en sont suivis. Excellent sens de l’accueil et de l’hospitalité dans une maison au top. A recommander les yeux fermés!!!

Beautiful remodeled villa

The place was beautiful and had everything we needed. Barbara met us with a great basket of food. It sits above Spello and has a beautiful view. You definitely need a car to enjoy all the sights. We also did a fun cooking class with her. I would highly recommend this villa
