There are rocking chairs on the porch looking out over the woods. Full cooking facilities, in a separate trailer, can be made available for an additional cleaning fee of $35. Limited local TV channels but there is a DVD player and VHS including DVD's and tapes. There is NO Internet at the unit but Wi-Fi is available around the Main Lodge at river's edge. Decorated in a "shabby chic" style, Turtle Heaven is a restful and happy place to be where time is slow and easy. The Lazy Turtle Lodge is a 10 acre estate, set in a quiet and beautiful oak, cypress and spanish moss hammock on the banks of the Santa Fe River, one of North Florida's most beautiful spring fed rivers. The estate includes Turtle Heaven (the trailer also on FlipKey), Turtle Palace (the camper), and the main Lodge. Peace, tranquility, wildlife and beautiful sunsets are the norm. Turtle Palace is also a 1.5 mile country walk to Rum Island Park and a short drive to Oleno St. Park. It is also across from Lily Springs, downriver from Poe Springs and upriver from Ginnie Springs. About Pam Smith
Pam is a retired commercial real estate broker and husband, Lance, is a retired Herff Jones executive. Having met at the University of Florida, they always wanted to move back to the Gainesville area. They bought the property from good friends and next door neighbors in 2007 and built the Main Lodge as a full time dream residence in 2011. They have enjoyed entertaining friends and family and decided to open the Lazy Turtle Lodge to guests who appreciate the simplicity and beauty of Mother Nature.
Pam Smith purchased this Mobile Home in 2007
Why Pam Smith chose Fort White
The Lazy Turtle Lodge, appropriately named so because of the many sun loving, lazy turtles that make the Santa Fe River their home, is a 10 acre estate that housesTurtle Heaven - a shabby chic trailer and Turtle Palace, a cozy 28' Cardinal RV and the newly built full time residence of the owners, the Lodge. The beauty of this wooded oak, pine and cypress hammock on the edge of the Santa Fe River, a unique spring fed river captured the owners' heart and everyone that visits agrees that it is a little bit of heaven on earth.
What makes this Mobile Home unique
Whether you like to paddle (kayak, canoe, paddleboard), float, fish, swim, cave dive, bird watch, or simply feast your eyes on Mother Nature's art, the Lazy Turtle Lodge is the plac to come. Tranquility, peace, birds, deer, otter, oak hammocks, cypresses, spanish moss, jumping fish and a beautiful flowing river make this a unique and special place to catch one's breath.

Great place, very convenient!
We were looking for a place to stay to be able to do some paddling for the weekend. This was the perfect place! Very convenient location, wonderful location, and hosts. The dock was a wonderful bonus and a great way to pass some very relaxing time. Thanks for a great stay!
Beautiful place that is extremely peaceful
Amazing location to access all of the springs and the property is very peaceful. Pam was one of the best host I’ve had the pleasure dealing with. The place came with every amenity we needed to be comfortable. Definitely coming back.
Sweet review! We loved having you. Swimming and bonfires are good together in October!
A cute, clean place to stay near lots of fun activities!
My husband and I loved staying here. It was very clean and filled with everything you need for a quiet getaway. Coffee maker was a great touch as was the grill. Stay here and explore the Santa Fe paddling train (we put in at 441 and took out at 47 -7 hrs round trip and stunning) and Oleno State Park ( we did the green trail-approx. 5 miles and saw sinkholes and great expanses of saw palmetto and pine trees). If you’re a nature lover, you’ve found the perfect home away from home.
Absolutely stunning and amazing property. Our hosts were gracious and always readily available if we needed anything.
Our host provided all information regarding where to go to eat, shop, kayak rentals maps of the Santa Fe River.
The cabin rentals are decorated impeccably, the outside showers at night are fantastic, your own personal fire pit.
There is no cell service unless you go into town and that’s absolutely the most amazing feeling to be left alone with nature.
There is spotty Wi-Fi available on the Lodge deck and there is a landline offered if you need to make a phone call.
I am definitely looking forward to coming back and spending some time there with my husband again to get away from everything but nature.
Would definitely recommend👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻if you want to get away, this is a piece of heaven you’ll never forget.
LOVE 💕 LOVE 💕 LOVE 💕
Thank you for your lovely review! We are so happy to be able to share the Lazy Turtle Lodge with people who pick up on the wonderful energy here and thrilled when our guests really enjoy our "little piece of heaven". Until soon. Pam and Lance
Very clean, accomodating, everything you could ask for and then some.
The atmosphere was delightful and we will definitely go back again. The entire river was ours for the day of which we enjoyed hours of kayaking and enjoying nature. We can’t wait to go back again as it is a perfect place for anyone who enjoys a getaway in the woods with access to the beautiful Sante Fe River right there
Cute cabin with outdoor showers.
Enjoyed the stay. Owners were very nice. We love the area around High Springs.
