A sweet two story, one bedroom unit with kitchen, living room and shower bathroom. Located in one of Pasadena's most beautiful and architecturally distinguished neighborhoods. Walking distance to theater, movies, restaurants and museums. There is street parking with a nightly fee of three dollars.

The unit has an adjacent patio and garden, outdoor dining, and wifi and cable television. It is air-conditioned and heated and newly remodeled A fresh, efficient and comfortable space but if you are a tall or wide football player it might feel a little too charmingly petite.

About Philip Nix

This house has been in our family for over forty years. While regularly upgraded it retains the charm of an early 20th century home. As a young couple we first moved to this area in 1972. with our one year old son. Shortly after my wife's mother moved in down the street into this address. After years in Sonoma County after retirement we returned to be close to family and the interests and variety of urban life in a beautiful city. Pasadena has a long and fascinating history with all the glitter of now and the charm of a gracious past.

Great place with minor negative

We enjoyed our stay in Pasadena. The weather was great, the neighborhood was great and the house was great! Only one minor thing needed clarification - windows in the downstairs living area need shades as do the windows in the upstairs bathroom. This being said, the house was more than adequate and the owner, Phil, was very helpful. We would book again!

Phil is an experienced and gracious HomeAway host

I recently spent a week at Phil's while on a work assignment at the Santa Anita track. It's perfectly situated near the track, providing several access options from the highway to backstreets so getting to or from the track was never an issue. Phil and his wife were also available with advice and assistance as necessary, without ever being intrusive in any way. The cottage and outdoor spaces are a full step above an extended residence hotel. It's also worth mentioning that the cottage is only a $16 Uber ride from the Amtrak station in downtown LA.

Lovely cottage in Pasadena!

We stayed in this cozy cottage for five nights and just loved it. It’s got great charm, nestled in back of the owner’s house and surrounded by his beautiful gardens. Philip is a wonderful host, offering to help in every way. Thanks, Philip! We hope to return.

Cute charming little place in a great location with great hosts!

I loved this place! Very clean, full of thoughtful touches such as toiletries, wine, cheese, eggs, milk, etc. I've never had such a generous spread of goodies; usually you are lucky to get salt and sugar. It was cozy, in a great location, on a quiet street.

A perfect spot for one or two travelers to lovely Pasadena

This is a cozy “backhouse” on a beautiful neighborhood street in Pasadena. Upon arrival, I found wine, cheese and crackers, and plenty of breakfast items. The bed is quite comfortable. The outside sitting area is perfect on warm days. It’s easy to walk to the light rail, and there’s plenty of parking if you need it. The neighborhood is quiet. Philip is a fabulous host.

Cozy stay in Pasadena

Staying at this property was absolutely perfect for my week in Pasadena! Philip was super helpful when setting up the reservation, and accommodated my early arrival time. He provided some staples, as well as wine, cheese and crackers when I checked in.

The cottage is adorable and cozy. If you're over 6ft, though, this is not the place for you as there are a lot of low ceilings, and at 5'10", I barely fit into the shower. There were plenty of supplies in the kitchen for simple meals. There was a coffee maker, and Philip provided coffee and tea bags. The bed was SO COMFY! The nights were chilly and the bed was so soft and had plenty of warm blankets. I think that was the best I've slept in a while!

The neighborhood is quiet and has nice sidewalks, and lots of unique and beautiful homes. There is a Whole Foods and Trader Joe's within a reasonable walk (~10 - 15 minutes).

I had a great time staying here and would definitely stay again the next time I'm in Pasadena!
