Private 30 Acre Estate with its own 6 Acre Lake and one lane bowling alley!

Bedrooms 7
Space 5,000 sq. ft.
Property type estate
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

The Fall and Winter are special seasons at Lakeside Manor. The cooler weather in the fall and coloring leaves invite our guests to venture outdoors! Enjoy a nice hike around the lake or on the trail along the creek at the bottom of the ravine. Fishing and boating are as good as ever and also great pastimes during the fall months. And of course nothing can quite compare to a crackling camp fire as another brisk day comes to an end.

The winter brings another opportunity for our guests to get away from it all and cozy up with family and friends in our 5,000+ sqft home. The spacious bedrooms and living area offer many options for group games and activities. Of course if there is snow on the ground, younger guests will love the many hills to sled and the numerous acres to explore and build snow forts. If it is a cold winter the 6 acre pond will completely freeze over providing more to be marveled and enjoyed. Too cold to go outside?…stay indoors and enjoy the pool table, large flat screen TV with many channels, and the one lane regulation size bowling alley! Also there are quite a few attractions in the area that can be visited year round including the largest Cabelas in the world, The Yuengling Brewing Co (the oldest brewery in the nation), Roadside America (largest miniature village in the nation), Christmas Village (people come from all over to see the lights and decoration from Thanksgiving on), and much more. See our description below for more information…

Remember those long summer days playing all day in the water under the hot afternoon sun, eating hot dogs and hamburgers at dinner time and finishing with ice cream and apple pie for dessert? Then staying up late with a game of capture the flag followed by a three hour game of monopoly, or cards on the back patio? You will be ushered back to those good old days at Lakeside Manor. The long tree lined driveway leads to the 5,000 square foot 1960's stone cape cod. This 30 plus acre property is truly a step back in time. Upon arrival, there is little need to leave although the surrounding area has much to offer for anyone's fancy. The most impressive feature of this vacation home is the 6 acre private lake that greets you when entering the property but also wraps around the back of the house leaving plenty to be discovered and explored throughout your stay. This is considered a small lake but would be a very large pond. Another very unique aspect to this property is the basement which is over 1,500 sq ft. The basement offers a 2nd kitchen with bar area, elevator access, a large walkout patio area, large stone fireplace and a pool table. The most unique area in the house is the full sized, one lane, old fashioned bowling alley. Bring a personal pin setter along because this bowling alley is "old school" but works perfectly for all day fun no matter the weather outside! Lakeside Manor offers 7 bedrooms with beds for over 20 and 5 full bathrooms. The 30 acres is a combination of green grass, lake, a stream that runs though a wooded ravine (great for children) and farm land. There is a balcony, two patios, an indoor porch, all with great views of the lake and the mountains a few miles away. The old dock has been restored which is perfect for all things lake related. There are many fish in the lake! Bring fishing rods and you'll be sure to have a blast catching bass, perch, crappies, and blue gills a plenty. The lake has a steady decline from the bank and gradually deepens to around 20 ft in the middle. There is a nice shallow area surrounded by shade trees that works well for the younger swimmers. We have a few boats/kayaks for our guests to use during there stay on the lake. Feel free to bring your own boats as well whether they are for our lake or for Blue Marsh Lake just minutes down the road. (Bring motor boats and jet skis for Blue Marsh Lake, not for use here). There is much more to be said but please be encouraged to check out the pictures and contact us with any further questions. Thanks!

The ultimate vacation rental for big families... Highly Recommended

  • 5 of 5

First of all, I would like to thank Jesse very much for his outstanding communications. Though he was on a vacation, he was able to answer all my questions and address all my problems promptly.

We were a family of twenty of all ages, who stayed in this beautiful paradise around the Good Friday long weekend (2017). Let me assure you that all of us, regardless of how old, could find something to keep us busy (and happy) for the whole vacation.

The house itself was very comfy and entertaining. The only thing that was kind of troublesome to us was the distribution of bathrooms. On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (fair enough). on the second floor there are 4 bedrooms and only one bathroom, so for those who slept on the second floor, they had - in many cases - to travel one or two floors down (sometimes with their sleepy kids) to get to the bathroom (there is also another bathroom in the basement). That was the only thing I heard complaints about from my group. Other than that, the place is magnificent.

Let's get to the funny part (Our description of the house and activities): First of all, we noticed that the place has gone through an extensive renovation right before we have arrived. It now has a brand new (main) kitchen (with 6 eyes stove and two decent ovens), built-in microwave, 2 dishwashers, Big fridge (there are two other fridges, one in the laundry room and one in the basement). The basement is the ultimate entertainment place: it has a Pool Table, Ping Pong Table, 60" TV with cable and DVD player, Kid's board games and other games, plus the beautiful old school one bowling lane, and a very practical gas fireplace.

There is a very cozy living room that can gather all the family for a lazy talk. We believe it would be even more practical if the living area has its own TV.

On the outside there is an amazing fire pit. The burning wood is ready right next to it, and is more than you can ever need. The green areas are for all the sports activities you may think of. There is also a basketball net right next to the driveway and the garage. The lake area is self explanatory with two Kayaks, a raw boat and a paddle boat - don't forget the adjacent hammock, It is amazingly comfy. There is also a private hiking trail (it has a naturally built fire bit half way of your hike, such an inspiring place to rest right before sunset). The hiking trail is on the other side of the lake which provides a decent (private) hike.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for writing this review! We are so glad your family had a wonderful stay, and that everybody could find something enjoyable to do! And although there are many bathrooms, we are sorry the layout didn't seem to work well for your group. We are so thankful the other new renovations were so appreciated! Thanks so much again for staying at our rental!

Spectacular property! Clean house with a dream kitchen!

  • 5 of 5

We were here for a work event and it could not have gone any better. We sure did take advantage of the entire outdoor space which included fishing, canoeing, baseball, basketball, football, and a nice bonfire to end the day! We have some self-proclaimed chefs and the kitchen area did not let us down. State of the art! Not to mention the bowling alley was great feature to go along with the pool table and ping pong. You definitely earned all five of your stars.

Absolutely love it

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed here twice now as part of a retreat and the accommodations are great. There's plenty of space to spread out and the dining table actually fits all of us. Jesse and Melody have been great to work with. We had uncharacteristically warm weather in February and actually got to enjoy lunch by the lake which was beautiful.

Fantastic rental!

  • 5 of 5

This rental home is fantastic! We had a very large group -- 5 families (10 kids (age 5 months to 10 years) and 10 adults) -- for a long weekend in January, and the house was spacious and completely comfortable for all of us. The house is laid out so that there are many common rooms for a large group to gather and enjoy each other's company, but there also many bedrooms for folks to escape for quiet and sleep. The house is stocked with all needed appliances/amenities, and has a number of toys for children (a very welcome surprise to us!). And, as the photos show, the outside grounds are so lovely. Melody and Jesse are great owners/hosts -- they very kindly allowed our group a late check out, and were very responsive to our questions before our arrival. We had a truly wonderful long weekend, and would absolutely return to this home!
