Growing up in the Chicago area, my parents always took the family to the lakes of Wisconsin and Minnesota for vacations. They always dreamed of having their own place on a lake, and after a lot of thought and search for the right place, they bought this house in 1970. It was a small fishing cottage built about 1930. My father went right to work on adding a second story and remodeling the interior to accommodate our family. After my parents passed away, my husband and I were able to keep it in the family. We did further additions and renovations; always trying to stay true to the original design and architecture. Our five children have grown up spending part of every summer here and creating wonderful family memories in the process.
We are now retired from our careers in city planning and school psychology and living in Kansas City most of the year, but are now able to spend several months a year on the lake and share it with our children and grandchildren.

Green Lake is one of the more renowned vacation spots in Wisconsin, dating from the 1800's. It provides excellent opportunities for all water-related activities, such as swimming, boating of all types, fishing, scuba diving, and sunbathing. Boat and all water sport rental equipment, guided fishing expeditions, and lake tours are available as well. The lake is very large at 11.4 square miles and 7 miles long. It is also the deepest lake in Wisconsin at 237 feet. Around the lake there are many opportunities for other activities, such as biking and hiking trails, river canoeing, hunting, horseback riding, tennis, and several well known golf courses. Shopping is enjoyed at various flea markets; art, antiques, and gift shops in picturesque Princeton, Green Lake, Ripon, and Berlin. There are several special festivals in the area, including weekly concerts in city parks, "Summer Solstice", 4th of July celebrations, and the always popular "Dairy Days" in Markesan.
Green Lake Conference Center offers its own activities such hiking, biking, boat and jet ski rental, and world class golf at Lawsonia Golf Course.
