About Ines Cortes
I was born in Bogota, Colombia and I have been living in the states, specifically Miami, for the last 30 years. I went to law school in Colombia but early on I decided to abandon law and dedicated myself to different creative projects. I have traveled to India, Africa, Mexico, Guatemala. Nepal and Cambodia among others. I love beautiful things, color, kindness, honor and friendship. I love being a VRBO host. I know a little about Miami and share that knowledge gladly with my guests.
Ines Cortes purchased this House in 2002
Why Ines Cortes chose East Little Havana
When I saw this home for the first time I realized the house had chosen me. We were bound by my love for old architecture, Florida pine floors, crown moldings a floor plan that was not an open plan and, oh my god, the lime green bathroom tiles. I liked the neighborhood and the way the house sat on the lot with 2 cypress trees side by side. She looked like an elegant girl going to her first ball. Through the years the house has changed but the essence is the same. Because I love color, the house is no longer white/white, because I love plants and flowers, butterflies and birds, I planted and planted again and again, shrubs, flowers, bamboo trees. Some grew, some did not but I filled the garden with green and have enjoyed it totally ever since.
What makes this House unique
I fell in love with the tile on the porch and you will to ,( just wait and see) the arches, the mango tree, the long green entrance by the side of the house, the small and delightful back yard and the great front porch.

Charming Urban Oasis
I stayed at the property for 5 nights while visiting Miami alone in March 2018 for the Miami Open tennis tournament. The location was ideal in general for me to get to the tournament held on Key Biscayne (15 minute drive on weekdays) with minimal hassle as well as to downtown Miami, Miami Beach and Coral Gables, etc. Parking was abundant on the street.
The owner Ines lives on site and was readily available to assist in providing directions to restaurants, grocery stores, sites to visit, etc. She was so enjoyable that on two occasions I talked to her at length which I normally do not do while on vacation.
Upon arrival, Ines stated her house was 'a happy house' and encouraged me to make myself at home by using the kitchen, living room, dining room, front porch and backyard as desired.
Accordingly, I took her up on her hospitality by storing some food and drinks in the refrigerator/freezer and using the kitchen as needed which was a nice bonus.
The room and house were both very clean and have a warm feeling. The bed was very comfortable and I was able to fall asleep quickly each night and sleep soundly. Included in the room was a high definition TV with direct TV satellite.
The shower/bath is not in the bedroom. It is shared with one other guest room. The bathroom in general and shower in particular are both very clean. The shower has good water pressure and hot water. There was an abundance of body lotion and shampoo products for gust use. For the most part I was able to use the bathroom when needed without having to wait.
The landscaping along the side of the house and in the backyard where there are tables and chairs to relax is lovely and tranquil.
I recommend this property and would definitely stay here again if needing lodging within Miami regardless of whether I was alone or with my Wife

Home sweet home in Miami
I’ve been to over 25 countries and always stay at Airbnb’s (or VRBO’s) and this was one of my favorites ever. Ines was so kind, thoughtful and respectful. She had breakfast ready for us every morning and gave us ideas, recommendations and tips on what to do with our time in Miami. The house itself was very clean, fun and quirky. We won’t hesitate a second to recommend our friends to stay in this place and if we happen to stay in Miami again we will be back!
Thank you for everything, we highly recommend!
Bonita, thank you so very much for your kind words. I totally loved having you here and I am so happy you had a good time in Miami and the house. I hope to see you again one day !
Cozy and Comfortable
We only stayed one night. Perfect location being very close to Port of Miami. Inez was very hospitable, even showing us how to put LYFT on our phone so we could get a ride to the port.
Thank you Barbara it was a pleasure to meet you and to host you both. I am glad we could help you during your stay.
Folk Art + Enchanted Garden + Kind, Knowledgeable Host = Perfection
We recently returned from spending 5 nights in the “Cozy Bedroom”. I cannot say enough positive things about Inez and her home. From start to finish, she did everything possible to make us feel welcome and to ensure we had everything necessary in terms of personal comfort and information about the area. She somehow managed to be available whenever we wanted or needed without ever being intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed talking with her. The home was totally charming, with all the lovely furnishings and folk art. The bathroom was always impeccably clean and neat. Our room had ample space, including several drawers and a closet, so we were able to unpack a bit, which was nice. It overlooked the gorgeous garden, with twinkle lights highlighting the pathways, tables & sitting areas. We most definitely would stay there again!
Oh Judith you made my heart sing. What a treat to host people like you. Thank you for a beautiful review. So happy you enjoyed the house.
Inez was so sweet & accommodating. Her home is warm & opening. She gave us multiple recommendations for dinner & breakfast. She made us the most delicious fruit salad. We had a wonderful time. Would stay again. Bed was super comfy.
It was such a pleasure to host you. Beautiful couple! Thank you so much for staying at the house, for being so gracious and kind. Guests like you make hosting a great treat.
